My sister and I stumbled upon this gem on a random day running errands. I went to my trusty Yelp app and searched for "lunch specials" and this place came up. Cebu is an island in the Philippines and also happens to be where my family is from. So immediately, I was intrigued. It's located in a strip mall between the Pepe's Mexican restaurant and Shenanigans. The sign outside says New Chinese Kitchen so I was unsure at first but when I walked up, I noticed various Filipino flyers on the door. They offer your usual Chinese takeout menu items but I was more focused on the Cebu Lechon House offerings. They have lunch combo specials for $14.99 and it included an entree, fried rice and lumpia. My sister ended up getting the Sisig and I asked for recommendations. They have the usual bbq sticks and grilled pork belly but I wanted something different. He told me about their kare-kare and how it's made with beef collagen. He also explained that it was the dish he made for his wife that made her fall in love with him. I was immediately sold! I'm not a big kare-kare fan but I was open to trying it out. I ordered the crispy version instead of the beef which is really just lechon kawali served with the kare-kare sauce. The sauce was thick and creamy and very flavorful and the crunchy pork belly was a great pairing. It was served with bagoong (shrimp paste) and I was amazed with how much extra oomph it gave the dish! I also tried my sister's sisig. It was so flavorful and I was really impressed to be able to taste the calamansi flavor with it. The combo came with 5 pieces of lumpia Shanghai and not to be biased but it's hard for me to be impressed with lumpia because in my opinion my mom makes the best one. This one was actually really good and equally addicting. They serve beef pares and short order lechon on Saturdays so I will definitely have to come back!

    Where's the meat? WTH?

People stay away from crab rangoon from this place. For me when I visit an Asian place it is for crab rangoon and almost all of them had only air in it no meat. Really upset. I called them up to fix it they said"never heard from anyone such complaints" and I was like at least apologize. I don't need a refund. I had their lunch portion of schzewan chicken it was definitely worth it. Ambiance if you ask me I wouldn't go on date there! But had couple of tables, and everyone looked very busy. Overall 5 stars for entree & the Worst crab rangoons - almost the entire portion was thrown away. Location- the name of the restaurant in the plaza is different. They have a small sign saying Cebu on their window. There is only one Chinese restaurant there which is them. Google maps took me to the offices behind the plaza. So be prepared to get lost. Updated number of stars after business owners response. I did bring it up in our call I will be posting a one star review. But you're right, I had two items from the menu, one was a 5 star and crab rangoon was not worthy so changing it to a 3 star review and be fair. Also, I don't live in that town, I was visiting a friend, don't know if I will be back there anytime soon.

    Crispy kare kare dinner...delicious

I inadvertently saw the Yelp page the last time we were in the area. We decided to try it today... Great decision! We were greeted promptly by a very nice guy. I asked a few questions, and he was very pleasant. I ordered the crispy kare kare dinner, which comes on a delicious peanut sauce with sautéed veggies . The eggplant was so good! My hubby was dipping his food into the peanut sauce he liked it so much! He ordered beef and peapods dinner. Both dinners came with 4 lumpia and fried rice. Some of the best food all around we've had. They gave us a sample of their lechon while we waited. You can taste the love put into all the food. We can't wait to come back and try more!

Everything we ordered, minus the beef pares.

My son went here to pick up some Filipino dishes for us after he had found the location searching for restaurants near the Woodridge IMAX theater. I'm so glad he found this place! The Filipino food is absolutely amazing, and they are very generous with the portions. My son also noted the man at the register was very friendly -- he gave my son a bit of their weekend special beef pares to try. He ended up getting an order of that to go along with a crispy kare kare combo, pancit, and crispy pata. Everything was so good! The place is a bit of a drive for us, but we'll definitely be coming back soon to try more of their Filipino offerings.

    Lechon kawali, garlic rice, lumpia

I was looking for a quick bite to bring back to my hotel. I stumbled upon Cebu Lechon House and I got excited because I love lechon kawali. I'm from Michigan and I don't see Filipino dishes too often there. I called and was a bit confused on what I wanted. The man on the phone was the best! I am assuming he was the owner or something but if not then this place has a great employee! He was so kind and helpful. He walked me through the menu and told me the different options I had for lechon kawali, I walked in and was greeted immediately. The place is clean and well lit. I think I saw a couple tables in there but it's more a take out joint in my opinion. A man came out of the kitchen and told me he was also giving me a soup. It was a beef soup he said and they only make it on the weekends I believe. This was really nice of him! He was so pleasant and I'm thinking he was the same man I talked to on the phone. I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel cuz that garlic rice was making the car smell too delicious. I busted open my food and it looked amazing! The Lechon kawali was perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The lumpia were perfectly fried and excellent. Now lemme get to the soup he so generously gave me. That was the best! It was incredibly thick and delicious. It had big pieces of tender steak and was garlicky. I have no idea what it was but I would love to purchase more. Oh and I cannot forget that garlic rice. Delicious! I love garlic and if you do too, then it's a must! This place is an 11 outta 10! Excellent food, great prices, good portions and wonderful service! Honestly, I want to go back tomorrow if I'm in that area to get the crispy pata! I will 100% be coming again the next time I'm in the Chicago area. Yes, Chicago area cuz I would def drive an hour plus to get this glorious food!

    Fried 'shrimp',just greasy batter.

This is still -New Chinese Kitchen with the horrible canned food. I guess they changed their name and are 'under new management',but it's the same place with the same food..we didn't realize this until it was too late. This was the 1st time in my life that I've seen my husband take 4 bites of food and toss it,he likes everything. He ordered the shrimp egg foo young with chicken fried rice,he immediately said the shrimp tasted off,the egg foo young was greasy, and the chicken fried rice had canned chicken. The egg foo young was separate from the gravy,it shouldn't have been greasy. I ordered the teriyaki beef and fried shrimp combo. It came with 3 pieces of GREASY,inedible, cocktail shrimp covered in a bunch of batter(see pics), the fried rice had that nasty costco canned chicken in it and was somehow greasy. Not sure why they gave me a layer of wonton chips, but that was the only edible thing. The beef teriyaki wasn't horrible,I'm just not sure if it was fresh because it smelled weird;like meat that's been left out too long. I don't appreciate a business trying to change its name, but serving the same nasty food. Serving canned cocktail shrimp, and canned chicken is bad, greasy fried rice, greasy egg foo young-I like greasy food, but this place shouldn't be cooking anything! A waste of money..AGAIN! Cebu is still New Chinese kitchen, find somewhere else to eat.

beef pan fried noodles - fresh, well-portioned, so delicious!

Such excellent, caring service (even gave us some soup while we waited for our order)-ordered pan fried noodles w/beef, lumpia, and pork skewers. Photos attached! Will definitely return!

Looking for something different and close to the house, so I decided to try this takeout only spot. Apparently they're under new management. So new, they haven't even update the name on the outside of the restaurant. Either way, I ordered from the Filipino side of the menu. I was skeptical at first because the presentation wasn't the best. Everything was kind of just thrown into the container. But once sliced up the pork belly (which should have already been cut up) and plated everything, the appearance of the food finally matched its taste. Definitely not lacking in flavor. Going back to try something else on the menu.

The food was really good and the servings were big at reasonable prices. How I wish there were more Filipino vegetable dish selections, but we are very happy with the crispy kare kare and the aristocrat chicken. I recommend you give Cebu Lechon House a try if you're looking for good Filipino food.

I believe it's beef soup/broth (correct me if I'm wrong)

Food. 10/10 Customer Service. 10/10 Went there and ordered the Lechon because I wanted to try it for the first time. It was delicious and I was lucky enough to get some that was FRESHLY made. They gave me some type of beef soup to go with it and it was also very tasty. The owner there and the other lady that was there, shoutout to them man they really made me feel good to be there. I drove 35 minutes to specifically try their food and it was 100% worth the drive and wait. Very lovely people who work there, will be back to try other dishes that they have. I'll definitely recommend this place to any family and friends.

Highly recommend this hole in the wall. Just about everything on Filipino combo meals is fantastic in huge portions.

I wanted to give them 4 or 5 stars, BUT: one item, the All Blue Roll, is dangerously mislabeled. The menu described it as "spicy salmon, avocado inside, top w. salmon and lemon, top w. tobiko, yozu sauce." Interestingly that's the exact same description given for their Zeff Roll, which costs $1.25 more. However, the All Blue Roll is NOT topped with salmon or lemon, just shredded imitation crab under the tobiko and yozu sauce. We had people with shellfish allergies in our group, and purposefully ordered nothing with any shellfish ingredients. For those who will ask, imitation crab is made with crab-derived ingredients and will trigger a shellfish allergy. I don't know if the menu is incorrect or if the chef made a random substitution, but if we hadn't noticed in time, we would have had a life-threatening medical emergency to deal with. It also forced us to question and take apart every other item in our order to make sure other items were safe for our group. Put a big damper on what would otherwise have been a great evening. For the prices they charge, the overall quality was acceptable, nothing to rave about but fine. But this gaffe will prevent us from going here again.

I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.
