The shop, which has been around for over 10 years is chock-a-block full. Antelope horns lean against agate bookends, watermark pillows rest next to small oil paintings, and claw-foot candlesticks, magnifying glasses and a jewel-encrusted crown share table space. A variety of vintage wallpaper serves as backdrops to the diverse assortment. Yates has even created a space for a great assortment of espadrilles and hand screened T-shirts by his best friend, John Kennedy. The shop, like a room with character, is spirited and charming. When you visit, plan to spend some time there; you never know what you'll uncover.

Ultimately I was thrilled that I stepped foot in Yates & Kennedy and I will think of that store fondly each time I gaze upon my gorgeous pillow while at home. The sales for off season are really good and you can get a great deal on clothing. My husband was looking for a Provincetown sweatshirt and all of the ones on sale were Cape Cod ones...lots of colors, lots of styles.... The story of these stores started in 1980. Cuffy purchased 300 misprint t-shirts for $1.00 and sold them for $2.00 right after college. That was the start of a successful casual clothing line of stores.

My husband puts a hat on his head - nope. A second hat - nope. Third hat - yep. Proprietor says, "I could show you other hats but I'm not going to. That one's perfect for you." Went in today and Valerie (like the Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse song) helped me select a hat and she showed me the correct way to wear it. She's absolutely lovely and this store is worth a stop.
