Just went through.. I ordered a chicken bacon sandwich meal, a shrimp basket sub fries for onion rings , a large mtn dew, a dipped cone and a polar blast ... I didn't get the drink that comes with the meal and I didn't get my onion rings . My dipped cone was completely melted when they gave it to me and was dripping down the girls hand... I didn't realize my onion rings weren't there till we drove away, same with the soda, but I had to throw away my ice cream before we even got out of the drive through as it got all over me and my car... the food was good I mean it was $35 and I tipped another 5 before getting handed my meal .. so for $40 I wish I would've gotten the meals I paid for and a ice cream cone that wasn't completely melted .. I understand during this time everyone is doing the best they can to be sanitary and efficient but my experience today kinda sucked :( read more

How can that be bad? Sounds like a brat to me, feeding off of their parent's negativity...) -Beer-Battered Onion Rings -Fries -If you're getting a burger, get the Motherburger. Just do it. -Grilled Cheese (on the same delicious bread as the turkey sandwich) -Chicken Strips -Chili -Soft-serve ice cream cones -they have beefalo burgers for those of you who are watching your girlish figures. Yes, it will cost more than your average fast-food place. Yes, the drive thru can have a moderate wait, especially for fried food, which shouldn't bother you unless you have something against fresh food. Yes, if you like amazing homemade bread, you'll be in heaven here. And yes, the building is old, but it is very clean inside, which is more than I can say for other places in town. We came in at 7pm. It was not busy at the time. We ordered the Buffalo burger and the Mushroom burger with tater tots and onion rings. Onion rings were burnt. The Buffalo burger was HORRIBLE. The pattie looked like someone took a couple bites out of it. When I asked the server if that's how the burger was supposed to look like, she had no idea what I was talking about. We stopped here on the out way out of town for one of their local famous shakes. They had plenty of options and of course I went with chelate peanut butter because what else would you choose? We hadn't been in the drive in for a couple of months. After a football game we decided to grab a quick bite. The hamburgers were as thin as paper. They were over cooked and very dry. The French fries were undercooked. What surprised me the most was the size. You used to have an order that two people struggled to finish. Now the size of the order was very disappointing. DK's has a special place in my heart. I grew up in the area and frequented this popular burger joint as a child. As years went by, my appreciation for the food continued to flourish and my liking for their special tartar sauce remained without ceasing. The fries are as tasty as the ice cream, but taste vastly different from one another... unless you mix the fries and the ice cream together--then the flavors become almost impossible to differentiate. The staff is friendly and get the job done. The wait in the drive-thru is beyond normal gestation periods of most animals indigenous to Grant County. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this madness, but the consistency of wait is helpful; I never go to DK's and question if I'll get through the drive-thru quickly. It allows me to plan my day out more effectively: I can order at the screen and then have enough time to file my taxes, watch a movie or sew up my tattered sweater vest. By the time I get to the window to pick up my food, I am more hungry than when I ordered, so it seems like more of a treat when I get my food. Heading through the drive thru, the menu seems simple enough to understand although there aren't descriptions of what's on each burger but that's simple enough to solve be asking. Waited second in line at the window for 20 minutes to get the food. At least it's fresh! They did take my payment and handed off my drink while I waited. Finally got the food, after they went and slaughtered the cow, and the fries were nice and hot and paired well with the tartar sauce. We heard good things from the locals, but we were not impressed. I ordered my burger Keto style: Double patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle with no sauce and no bun. The first thing I will mention is they put the pickles I asked for tucked into the wrapper on the outside of my boyfriends burger. Which of course he plucked out and ate before we realized I didn't get my pickles. It just made no sense at all! Moving on to the burger patties, they were very bland and had no seasoning. I didn't care for the flavor so I had to have cheese and bacon in each bite just to like it. The bacon was fantastic, the bacon alone gets 5 stars! So just order a box of bacon if you end up there. I ordered a double burger with extra bacon so they stacked 2 patties and then a couple slices of bacon (hardly extra) and then a cold piece of american cheese. I at least expected cheese in each layer, but nope! I gave my boyfriend the remainder of the hamburger patties after eating the bacon and cheese, he agreed and was not impressed. He got the DK special since well its the special item they sell, gotta try it right? Wrong, it was pretty bland as well and unfortunately didn't have any bacon on it.
