D'lited to finally try this place because after some effort with proper spelling to locate this establishment on Yelp or google maps I struck gold with some healthy ice cream that is D'lit. Healthy ice cream seems like a misnomer unless of course you are referencing mental health, but yes you heard right that this cream is clocking in at only 50 kcal per 4 O-Zs. Mine was double this, but I also have a sweet tooth and this is something I am working on. Speaking of which, how might they accomplish this skinny appearance? I can tell you it is not by compromising the consistency or quality of the treat. Many over-the-counter or grocery store aisle skinny ice creams. I have tried basically just taste like frozen water and have a very icy consistency. This ice cream however, was almost as thick as custard and as creamy as the best homemade batch coming straight from the dairy farm. One of their secrets to this technique that they could share with me, was the fact that they use fat-free milk, which again was very impressive understanding that usually the higher the fat content of the dairy product the more creamy and rich it becomes. My only con to the ice cream is that as a result of keeping it thin, the sweetness factor is substantially lower than what you would expect from a full body high sugar content dairy treat. This is still though about as good as one could get while still maintaining a low calorie threshold. As I mentioned prior, I do have a significant sweet tooth and so their huge bar of mix ins which include both your typical and your health conscious options was a huge plus for me. I decided to go for the old faithful cookie dough bites. Their cost per mix-in is a little higher than the average market price at about one dollar, but I believe it is well worth it to be able to give you just a little bit more sweetness, which you deserve considering your dessert at baseline is so much less calorically dense than the average. South Tampa is a bit of a drive for me, but the kind service behind the counter willing to allow me to try the selection of rotating weekly flavors was enough to lock me in for a return visit. read more

I have been searching for keto dessert spots in Tampa and finally stumbled across D'lites when someone posted on Instagram... wow am I happy I found this beautiful place. All of their ice cream is Keto! They have 6 soft serve flavors that rotate. Half of the flavors ate chocolate base, which is 2 grams of carbs and 2 grams of sugar per serving. The other half is vanilla, which is 6 grams of carbs and 6 grams of sugar. Their medium size is 2 servings so I freeze half every time and it stays in perfect condition the next night. The chocolate is my go to flavor but my favorite is the peanut butter brownie batter (chocolate base) and the dulce de leche (vanilla base). They have a punch card to earn free ice cream, though I think you need 20 some ice cream purchases to get a free one. Every day of the week they have different specials. On Wednesdays, their special is buy 2 pre-packaged containers, get one free. They also sell a lot of health and keto conscious foods in store. They carry smart cakes, which are small keto cakes that are frozen. This is one of those places where I tried it about 2 weeks ago and have been at least 6 times and every time I buy enough ice cream for 2 nights. I had seen the Yelp reviews, and Yelpers were conflicted on whether it was ice cream. Don't come here expecting premium ice cream. D'lites is good, but it tastes more like healthy froyo/soft serve. It's airy, but dense at the same time. While I was there, I bought a small cup ($3.85) of cake batter and chocolate buttercream. The cake batter was delicious, and the chocolate buttercream was a muted version of their regular chocolate. I didn't order toppings, although I wish I had asked for some textured toppings (like sprinkles, cookie dough, or syrup) to help counter the smooth texture. It was delicious and I had a hard time believing it's only 50 calories per 4oz serving. One reason for four instead of five stars is because I found the ingredient list online and they use HYDROGENATED PALM OIL in their soft serve mix. In 2019, they should not be using any hydrogenated oils in their product when they claim to be "healthy." Also, their ingredient list reads like a chemistry lab. Although I like the fact that they claim not to use any artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. If they get rid of the hydrogenated oils and stabilizers, I'll be cleaning a space in my freezer for D'Lites. They have about 12 toppings. They serve you so it's different than frozen yogurt spots and you pay per size.
