Stopped by Sweet Soul while in the area. It's such a cute little healthy snack place with açaí bowl, snacks and smoothies. When I walked up I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from the staff but I proceeded to order anyway. I decided to order a delicious banana split and was pleasantly surprised. The sitting area outside had cute furniture that also had stains on the upholstery. Service makes an excellent experience so I likely won't return. read more

I tried Sweet Soul for the first time last week. After driving past this spot a few times, I was so excited that I finally got to check it out. I ordered the A.M. 's in Venice smoothie, which was a blend of pineapple, orange juice, strawberry, peach, and agave. You can select between a 16 oz or 24 oz, it really just depends on your personal preference and how much smoothie you want, but I got the 16 oz and it was just the right amount for me. I don't drink milk or other non-dairy milks, so I love that this smoothie was purely fruit and orange juice. My drink tasted so fresh and it was blended so nicely. I would definitely order again! As for parking, there is a lot behind the building and parking directly out front of the building. There is also a ton of outdoor seating shared with its neighboring restaurant, which makes for the perfect spot to sip on your smoothie or enjoy your custom acai bowl. In general, this is such a cute spot with fun decor, bright outdoor murals, and friendly staff. read more

Enjoyed an ice cream sandwich from the freezer. The chocolate chip cookie was good and tasty, but the ice cream needed to sit out a bit to be eaten. Very cute establishment, but limited space inside. My husband and I love this place!!! Today we got the oatmeal cookie smoothie with protein added. It quite literally tastes exactly like an oatmeal cookie. I got an ice cream sundae as a sweet treat after my lunch and it was amazing! The double chocolate cookie was almost brownie-like, and it went so well with the creamy vanilla ice cream and the peanut butter drizzle. It seemed like the two staff members were focused on other orders (maybe online ones?), which I totally get when it's busy. But as a first-timer, I was hoping for a little more engagement. They have a cute outdoor patio area with some seating but if you're coming with a large group, it's probably better to go with the takeout option. read more

Great acai bowls! They ensure heavy scoops of all your favorite toppings are added. The bases are premade I believe earlier in the day, which creates a quick process to receive your bowl. Great place for smoothies and açaí bowls. We stopped here on Sunday. They don't have any indoor seats but they have fans outside, which is helpful. Pretty decent number of parking spots. This is one of my favorite places to get acai in Tampa. They have a wide menu of oats, acai, and chia seed pudding to choose from among others. From there, you can choose your fruit, granola, drizzles, and extra toppings. There are so many variations to make, you can never get bored. The service was friendly and responsive to questions. They have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy the açaí and treats. read more

Sweet Soul is a (N'ice) cream lover's playhouse. I call it N'ice cream because they give you the option to have (N'o) dairy, gluten, or hormones. Simply plant based goodness with your choice of organic fruit toppings along with chia or oats etc. Protein can be a huge factor for most people when striving to eat clean so I'm assuming this is why peanut butter is 1 of the more favorable toppings for the bowl creations that you can choose from. Along with coconut shavings, blueberries, banana & almond butter there's plenty of ways to build your bowl (guaranteed they'll create a something special) . *Also allow me to mention their pup treats. My recent stop at Sweet Soul was good for my body, heart, spirt and mind. If it's possible to drink zen, this is it. The cute little shack with the walk up window and the banana wall and wallpaper, has been on my radar for so long. Saturday was finally the day. I was happily headed out on a day of fun errands but just felt like I needed some comfort or extra energy or good juju. This stoop gave me all three! Yes, the building is little but the good vibes are big. This place oozes happiness. You feel like you're doing something good for yourself, just by stopping. You can use the walk up window or go inside to order. I knew I wanted a smoothie, but there were lots of intriguing bowls and other options. I can't wait to eat/sip my way through all of them. I chose the "Luv u so matcha"-and it totally lived up to its name-so tasty-so smooth-just the perfect balance of flavors. The head and stomach ache I came in with-were gone after three sips. I could easily drink one of these every day! The parking lot out front isn't big, but I had no problem getting a spot, Saturday morning at 9:30. You can't eat inside but there's a counter out front and covered tables to the side. It's super easy to find, on South Howard. The staff was so nice-helping me on my maiden voyage. Sweet Soul has set the bar for smoothies. They have a superfood directory. It has a flavorful menu filled with a selection of different creations. The açaí bowls looked delicious and what's not love about a dairy free frozen yogurt machine? They create pup cups for dogs! How pawesome and dog friendly (smile). The staff were extremely friendly and patient when I asked questions. I had so many! They had new concepts going on (even for me). I thought I'd tried many smoothie flavors- but no! They are slightly high priced but I consider the large smoothie with extra plant based protein to be a meal replacement. It's not a snack. 16.00 for a healthy lunch was right. Went to lunch nearby and needed a sweet treat so stopped in at Sweet Soul. I saw they have ice cream sandwiches and thought that sounded perfect! I expected it to be 2 fresh cookies with soft serve between, but it was actually already made and kept in the freezer. I got it anyways and it was good, but I was a bit disappointed because it was so hard to eat until it started to melt. I would have personally preferred if the cookies were room temp and the soft serve was just placed between them, but I imagine the mindset may be that it would get messy sooner in this June heat. Overall, it was good, but I'd probably get a soft serve bowl instead next time! read more

Wanted a quick and easy breakfast option and found this place. They had a lot of great smoothies options and a very good variety of options for building an Açaí bowl. Service was very quick, and the woman behind the counter was super nice. I ordered the Cherry Colada smoothie and it was super yummy and definitely refreshing. This is a great little local smoothie and bowl place. The building itself is super welcoming and has fun theming. Inside is a little small so it might get crowded if you come during a busy time. This store is so cute! The store front and even the parking lot is so cute! I love the outdoor seating area. There is no seating inside. I was able to sample the strawberry ice cream and the vanilla ice cream. They both tasted delicious!They also had chocolate but I'm not a big chocolate fan. I really enjoyed the ice cream! I ordered a smoothie as well! The smoothie we ordered was the A.M.s in Venice. We added a scoop of bananas to the recipe. It was delicious! It definitely didn't disappoint. The ladies inside were wonderful! I was explained what the flavors were and what different toppings were available. They were friendly and polite. The restaurant looked very clean and well kept! My friend and I took our daughters here for some ice cream, it's a cute little spot in soho and in close proximity to quite a few little restaurants in that area - so it's a perfect pit stop for something sweet after grabbing lunch or dinner in the area! My daughter and I shared the strawberry and chocolate ice cream with pink sprinkles and coconut shavings - it was surprisingly refreshing and tasted really great. The service was awesome - both of the girls were very welcoming and kind, they answered our questions and even gave us recommendations - overall a very pleasant customer service experience. We sat outside along the entrance, there are cute little bar stools for seating and there is additional seating along the side of the building - this isn't a large establishment, but they've made great use of their surrounding outdoor space for people to enjoy their goodies onsite. This is a great little spot to visit when in the south Tampa area - I'll definitely come back to try out some of the other items on the menu! read more

Perfect sweet but healthy treat!!! I order a coconut blend with different types of fruits and nuts and it was amazing. Depending on what you get, your bowl can be extremely healthy and full of natural ingredients or slightly less healthy with cookies/gummies/chocolate chips. I loves everything I got in my bowl, so fresh and yummy. It costs about $12 for a bowl but portion is pretty big and filling. Service was quick and friendly. There is plent of parking and outside seatings . It's right next too Lucky Tigre so it's pretty convenient for a quick lunch + healthy dessert. Love the mango tree in the back also. Sweet Soul is definitely the most underrated of the CRG concepts (e.g Fresh Kitchen, Cali, Green Lemon). They are a smoothie and bowl restaurant, but my favorite products are their vanilla chia pudding and chocolate granola. I have tried to recreate both at home but they just aren't as good as the original. Today I found out I could purchase a tub of the chia pudding AND a container of the chocolate granola, so now I can enjoy my favorites at home. Other great ordering options are the açaí bowl and the soft serve. It is a small space but the service is expedient. They also have lots of outdoor seating options. read more

It's been a long time since my last trip to Sweet Soul so I was excited to have it again. I was a little sad that there wasn't any charcoal soft serve but I understand they have to change their flavors. I usually don't enjoy matcha but the matcha almond cookie soft serve was really good. It wasn't bitter but sweet! The vanilla cinnamon latte flavor had a very strong coffee flavor but it wasn't overwhelming. As stated before, I haven't been in a long time. They got rid of the dusting powders that you can sprinkle on the soft serve and the chicken coop in the back, which is a little sad. My partner and I tried the 5 star strawberry and the vanilla soft serve. I got the 5 star strawberry with cacao nibs and coconut flakes for toppings. The portion size is great for a soft serve! The strawberry flavor had an artificial taste (maybe aspartame) for me and the soft serve was not smooth. It reminded me more of the texture of a Italian ice as opposed to a soft serve. I would try a different flavor when I go again. My partner had the vanilla soft serve parfait. The toppings were tapioca pudding, peanut butter, and pineapple. The flavor was good and the texture was smooth. My partner would order the vanilla soft serve again. Overall, I would try a different flavor or item from the Sweet Soul menu when I return. read more

We loved the unique selection of ice creams (Brambleberry Crisp is the one I remembered from our Jeni's visit several years ago!) and each got two half-scoops so we could experience as much as possible! We each got the buttermilk waffle cone. I got the Brambleberry Crisp (again!) as well as the Maple-Soaked Pancakes ice cream! The textures of both were AMAZING with some crunch to the Brambleberry Crisp and PANCAKES in the Maple-Soaked Pancakes. The taste of the Maple-Soaked Pancakes was out-of-this-world and tasted like breakfast as an ice cream!!! I HIGHLY recommend this new flavor! Spouse got Goat Cheese with Red Cherries and also the classic flavor of Honey Vanilla Bean. Both spectacular! Lovely selection of stickers and other Jeni's merchandise. The staff were so kind and patient with my kids. It wasn't busy and they let them have as many samples as they wanted to ensure their satisfaction once they ordered their "pilot" (single scoop) of icecream. Mayday Ice Cream has fun and funky flavors like lavender tea, parent trap (Oreo cookies and peanut butter add ins) and more! The establishment was clean and well maintained. The staff went over and above, really making the experience special. They even offered to go containers and a foil bag to help keep the ice cream from melting when my kids felt full. Now that's above and beyond service imo. Please stop by and give this establishment some love. Because they are definitely doing it right.

Healthy ice cream seems like a misnomer unless of course you are referencing mental health, but yes you heard right that this cream is clocking in at only 50 kcal per 4 O-Zs. Mine was double this, but I also have a sweet tooth and this is something I am working on. Speaking of which, how might they accomplish this skinny appearance? I can tell you it is not by compromising the consistency or quality of the treat. Many over-the-counter or grocery store aisle skinny ice creams. I have tried basically just taste like frozen water and have a very icy consistency. This ice cream however, was almost as thick as custard and as creamy as the best homemade batch coming straight from the dairy farm. One of their secrets to this technique that they could share with me, was the fact that they use fat-free milk, which again was very impressive understanding that usually the higher the fat content of the dairy product the more creamy and rich it becomes. My only con to the ice cream is that as a result of keeping it thin, the sweetness factor is substantially lower than what you would expect from a full body high sugar content dairy treat. This is still though about as good as one could get while still maintaining a low calorie threshold. As I mentioned prior, I do have a significant sweet tooth and so their huge bar of mix ins which include both your typical and your health conscious options was a huge plus for me. I decided to go for the old faithful cookie dough bites. Their cost per mix-in is a little higher than the average market price at about one dollar, but I believe it is well worth it to be able to give you just a little bit more sweetness, which you deserve considering your dessert at baseline is so much less calorically dense than the average. South Tampa is a bit of a drive for me, but the kind service behind the counter willing to allow me to try the selection of rotating weekly flavors was enough to lock me in for a return visit.

Once inside, the atmosphere is just as impressive, and thankfully the food, drinks, and service live up to the hype. My dad and I started with the Gator Tail appetizer. Neither of us had ever tried alligator before, so we were really curious to see what it was like. Turns out, we loved it! It tastes surprisingly similar to chicken and was a fun way to try something new. For our mains, my dad ordered their famous Meatloaf, and after trying a bite, we completely understand why it's one of their signature dishes. It was excellent. I went with Barry's Tomahawk Pork Chop, and it was outstanding. The pork was cooked perfectly; juicy, tender, and not dry whatsoever. The real star, though, was the guava demi-glace, which added such a unique and delicious flavour to the dish. The beer selection was great too. I especially enjoyed the Wedding Beer Berry Lager, which was refreshing and packed with flavour. We also saved room for dessert. We tried the Candied Maple Bacon Ice Cream and the Bourbon Butter Cake. The ice cream wasn't really my favourite; I thought the cornflakes were a bit of a strange addition, but my dad enjoyed it. The Bourbon Butter Cake, on the other hand, was delicious and a great way to finish off the meal. Between the beautiful setting, excellent food, great drinks, and friendly service, it's easy to see why Ulele is such a popular Tampa destination. The happy hour is not only on drinks but full sized menu items that include appetizers and entrees as well as drinks. We took advantage of the situation in order our cocktails before 6 o'clock. I opted to start with the lemon cello apeol spritz and ended with the pistachio espresso martini. That may have been one of the best espresso martinis I've ever tasted it in my life and I've been to Italy to drink them! When I say do not pass up on the trio of dip for the focaccia bread- OMG-this sounds like such a simple appetizer, but it is done with precision and elegance, and the dips are absolutely amazing. We did take most of the bread home and put it in the air fryer the next day it holds up to a restaurant quality standard. We also ordered the chicken Parmesan and the meatball sliders. I will say the chicken Parmesan sliders for exceeded the meatball sliders. The meatballs needed a tad bit more seasoning for my liking. Because her eyes are bigger than our stomachs, we ordered three entrées between the two of us . The carpe de Pepe pasta, the margarita pizza, and the Sweet Jamie Kay pizza. When ordering pizza you have two options to get fluffy area dough or a thin crisp dough we chose both pizzas to be fluffy and airy type. The pasta was served al denti which is not my favorite, but nothing was wrong with the dish. The sweet Jamie Kay pizza was absolutely mouthwatering. The slight drizzle of honey paired with a type of meat on top of the pizza makes me want it every day. We had plenty leftovers to eat lunch the next day . We order it with siracha & soy sauce instead of the sauce it comes with- simply just a personal preference. I usually get the Spicy Tuna Avocado salad but they don't always have it. (which I'm ok with because they make sure the tuna is fresh) I have gotten the shrimp and mushroom rice platter before and it is very tasty as well. My husband loves their Bahn Mi sandwiches- he tries a different one every time and always is very satisfied! If you are in downtown Tampa, I would suggest you definitely check out Fusion Bowl. Many different options and very fresh and delicious.

Honestly this is my favorite go to plant based açaí bowl, and soft serve place ever!!!!! I'm literally addicted to everything they have. I go at least twice a week and I either get the same thing(because it's so good) or I try new things. Either way I love everything I try!! The outside seating isn't bad I always have a table to sit at, and they make it look super cute with the plants and flowers. There's also games to play outside!! I've tried many açaí bowls . There are many places that have freshly blended bowls but this place was not it . It seemed like it was pre made and they just scooped it out . I wish they gave you more for what you pay for . It was a cool building but very small . Staff seemed annoyed when I asked about the health benefits if their product . If you work at a health food restaurant you should know the product and health benefits that you are selling . Wasn't worth the money to be treated like an inconvenience and be served sub par serving sizes and product . read more

It's a quick and cute little stop on howard! The açaí bowls are phenomenal, lots of fresh and diverse options there. I really appreciate the minimalistic appearance of the establishment, it reminds me of an ice cream shop in the summer. The only issue is all the workers are high school kids who really don't know anything about customer service. read more

I went at lunch time and there was no wait and I was pleasantly surprised at the prices. I've been to acai bars that will have minimum prices of $13. I think this is an awesome concept and location. Definitely try the vanilla charcoal vegan ice cream its amazinngggggg. read more
