I went to get my nails done here two days ago I had to wait but that's because I hadn't made an appointment Then the person who did my nails was not great Walked out and saw that the polish was pitted and so thick and untidy Called them and they were nice enough to ask me to return in 30 mins The person who did the nails again was way better...... or so I thought till last night when the gel polish started to chip !!!! So spent 3 hours in total ! Came to this nail shop highly recommended by someone. It was a super bad experience. The person doing my nails left them uneven and extremely thick . She was on the phone texting the whole time, not only that she started talking on the phone . That's not really good customer service. This is my third or fourth time here and I LOVE D Nail Spa. If you are getting acrylic/solar Steven is the most through. He will NOT rush so if you're in a hurry ask one of the ladies to do your nails. I happen to like going on the weekend so I have the time to sit. Steven does an amazing job of making the nail even in width and he makes sure that the shape is consistent on all 10 nails. If you nit pick like I do you'll know how hard it is to find a salon that does this. The only problem is if you don't have time to wait or you get there when they're busy you're kind of SOL. If you don't like waiting make sure to call and make a reservation. TLDR: highly suggest going here but make an appointment. read more

My 2 star update rating is specifically for Shellac. At $32 I wouldn't come back again for this service, but for pedicures yes. Over the phone they quote $20 for Shellac but that is COLOR only. So when you get there and obviously get a manicure and shellac it is $32. I have gone to several other places where it is only $30 AND you get margaritas. Besides, I like establishments that can give you their own salon guarantee if their shellac chips within the first 2 weeks. It has not even been a full week and they already look damaged. I have color coming off of the thumb already. Had I gone to a salon that had a guarantee i could get it redone free. read more

I have been going here since January and haven't been disappointed. I've never made an appointment, I always just walk in. I've waited anywhere from no time at all, up to an hour just depending on the time of day and how busy they are. I've had a few different people work in my nails and they have always been great. I Highly recommend this nail Edit: There are two male nail techs that work there. One is taller with a tattoo on his left arm - he's amazing. Best nails I ever had. The other is shorter and wears glasses - he is the reason I will not be coming back for awhile. From beginning to end I was in excruciating pain. He was rough with my nails at every stage. I left bleeding in three places with my nails pulsing. I know getting your nails done isn't exactly painless but never like this. After 1 1/2 weeks they began to crack and chip. First time in today, I'm a cosmetologist and I usually do my nails at home for the last 7+ years but I just moved to a new spot and cannot lay acrylic inside my new apartment. I called specifically to find out prices the night before and was told a fill would be $15. Aaron did my nails today. I told him I need 4 nails repaired but he didn't repair them. He just layed acrylic over top of lifted acrylic nails. He also painted my nails but didn't use enough top coat that would have dried my nails in less than 5 mins (Seche Vite fast dry top coat) instead, my nails never fully dried after 20+ mins in front of a nail fan and I had to remove the wasted polish off my nails and hope the polish comes out of my clothes. When I go to checkout, Aaron asked the manager how much my fill was. I said $15, she says $20 because the pink powder we used was solar nail powder. I said that's not what they informed me off the night before. She rolled her eyes at me and was VERY rude repeating herself on why I was being charged $5 more. Aaron didn't inform me when he gave me the colored powder options either that they were more expensive or I would have chosen the $15 color option. Like I said, I'm a licensed cosmetologist who does hair & NAILS. I work in the West Village at a salon and ANY time my clients service prices change, I fully disclose what price changes they can expect so they can decide according to their budget. I should have been told of the price changes 1st: on the phone and 2nd: by my nail technician. This isn't how to do business especially with someone who usually tips 75%-100% (you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me) and also because I work in the service industry and I'm an avidly loyal customer and small business supporter and owner. I can't describe just how livid I am without using curses about the whole situation. Wasted polish, ruined clothes, wasted time and money I can't get back. And worst of all..... I still need my f#%@ing nails repaired/done!!! Ladies....save yourself the trouble and stress and just skip this place altogether. read more

I've been here a few times, including before my wedding. They are amazing! If you don't have an appointment, and you go at a peak time, after 5 on a weekday or sometime on Saturday expect a short wait. If it's not going to be short, they tell you when would be a better time. I really appreciated that they didn't let me sit for 45 mins. Everyone is very polite and they all have a sense of humor too. Every one of my mani/pedis, done by different people, have been very precise and clean, if not perfect. You never feel rushed to get out of their chair and I like that. They listen to what you want, how you want them filed, if you want them clipped, even if you can do my mani before my pedi to give them more time to dry because I am impatient and always smudge them. Super accommodating and I love this place! There is a plethora of colors to choose from, regular polish and the gel selection are both great. I don't do the acrylics or solar or anything like that, but I have heard them talking to other customers about all the new powder colors they're always getting in. Prices are totally reasonable. Mani/pedi for under $50. Unless you get the super deluxe ultra magnificent cheese grater hot towel wrap with wax pedicure. That one is a little more I think. Best of the best. This place is filthy. They are rude and very unprofessional. The communication barrier is a big issue. And they need to organize and clean up they have boxes and towels all over the place. I used to come here and recommended tons of people here as well but things have definitely changed. Sat for a little over an hour waiting for 2 pedicures and 2 eyebrow waxes and never once was offered water as they normally would if they were performing their service. I also observed a white couple walk in way after me (40 mins) and bam they got started on them very quickly. At this point they lost track of all of the people who were patiently waiting to get service. I don't think I was asking for free service here. I mean everytime I walk out of there I almost come out spending $200 because their prices have gone up but if this is the way they treat their customers then I will take my business elsewhere. The owner Sandy shouldn't even take appointments at this point if they cannot keep up with who is all waiting in line. (The pizza next door smelled amazing! Going to have to go there sometime.) Anyways I walked in and they were very helpful and got me in immediately, though that was just because no one was there. haha! They did a very thorough job which was nice for once. I've gone to other places and at the end thought I could have done better myself. This is not the case here. Pricing was VERY reasonable. They had two options for a mani-pedi. Not wheelchair accessible! I wheeled my husband in on Saturday to get a pedicure. They were booked so we scheduled an appointment for a pedicure for him today (Monday). The receptionist was looking at him - in a wheelchair. When we arrived on Monday, we had to leave after D Nails was unable to accommodate him. They should have told us that on Saturday. This spa is a little overpriced for what you receive. I've had gel nails that barely made it a week before peeling. The techs don't seem to notice their mistakes when polishing and filing. The lady rushed on my nails and did some of them crooked. Then she told me coffin was $5 extra when she cut my nails, but never told me that they were $5 extra for being "long". However the young man who did pedicure did not speak to me once, he used a electric item that they use to foul artificial nails down with on my big toe which made it bleed extremely bad and did not apologize, so I had to tell the other lady about the issue. This is going to be quite lengthy...Out of all the times I've been here this was my worst experience ever! I went to get an acrylic set earlier this week & am highly dissatisfied! I usually let the ladies do my nails but only the older guy was available, BIG MISTAKE. My nails were 3 different shapes when I requested SQUARE. they were uneven & slanted. I came back to get them fixed & what pissed me off is he had the nerve to argue with me that my nails were fine! He said I didn't know what I was talking about & could ask anybody to look at them & they would say they were perfect! Truth is I got plenty of second opinions & everyone said they were horrible. So he "fixed" them however my nails still look HORRIBLE! when I kept asking him to make my nails even across/not slanted he ignored me...A waste of my money because I'm going to another nail shop to get them redone!
