The service was great. Our issue is the crust. And for pizza, dough is everything. We were underwhelmed by how stodgy the dough was.

This pizza place has been in business about 2 weeks. The employees were friendly, the service was fast. We picked the most exotic sounding pizzas as this is an Indian/Italian pizza mashup. My pizza, the Punjabi Tikkal just seemed like a standard pizza. My boyfriend got something with "hot" in the title and it had a bit more flavor. The ambiance was very minimal and not on brand, a white lady with sunglasses painted on the wall. I would love to see more touches of India and Italy when they have a bit more time and money. The pizzas only come in a size small and they are $16. Give it a try!

    Yummy!!

Amazing pizza!!!! Perfect! Perfect crust! Perfect Alfredo sauce. Lots of meaty! Delivery was fast!

I got the Spaghetti Al Limone with shrimp and it was so tasty. It had an amazing balance of citrus that didn't overpower the rest of the plate. We also sat outside and it was lovely. There were ceiling fans to help keep us cool. It was great to see lots of families there too. You know the restaurant really takes pride in being family friendly. So, if you're looking for a place to treat yourself and curb your pasta cravings, go check them

Otherwise, there is street parking nearby, especially as you get into the residential areas. They are a walk-in only restaurant, and if you're going during dinner hours, there is usually a wait. You can a text when it is your turn to be seated, and you are able to wander the neighborhood during the wait. It is close to Lake Harriet, so if you're looking for a way to kill time, you can walk towards the lake and sit on one of the benches! Once you're at Broder's, you're in for a treat! It is a sit-down restaurant that feels on the nicer end of casual. It'd be a good date night spot, but also is good for gathering with friends and family. They have plenty of good options, including some dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free items on their menu which is clearly labeled. The service is always friendly, and they're always attentive, even when it gets busy! They start you off with some free breads, and there is olive oil at the table which you can use with the bread. They have a good selection of wines, and some beer and non alcoholic beverages. If you like a sweet wine that tastes mostly like juice, I highly recommend their moscato d'asti! As for their food, they have so many good pastas, you can't really go wrong. They are able to accommodate some modifications! I think in the past, I've subbed for another pasta shape. I recently also ordered the Tagliarini di Locanda di Lupo without Proscuitto to be vegetarian-friendly! It was very cheesy and creamy, and truffle-forward, as expected! I had their Spaghetti Al Limone, which was nice and buttery and still felt light and fresh with the basil and lemon. I've been to Broder's several times throughout the years, and I enjoy it every time! I would recommend stopping!

The décor is elegant and inviting, and halfway through dinner the lights dimmed into what we jokingly called the "sexy dinner lights," making the atmosphere even more warm and cozy. One thing I really liked is that every entrée comes in multiple sizes, so you can order the portion that fits your appetite. I wish more restaurants offered that option! We started with the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, and it was a great appetizer. The shrimp had a light, crispy Parmesan crust and came with two delicious dipping sauces. I ordered the Lasagna, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--rich, hearty, cheesy, and full of flavor. One entrée at the table was the Chicken Fettuccine, and we all laughed because none of us expected the pasta to be bright green! It turned out to be spinach fettuccine and ended up being a favorite. Another person ordered the Seafood Linguini De Mare. It wasn't their personal favorite, but that was simply a matter of taste rather than the quality of the dish. I had a Red Ruby Spritz mocktail, which was refreshing and beautifully presented. The others enjoyed their drinks as well. The portions were generous. Even though we were completely stuffed, we still couldn't pass up dessert! The Crème Brûlée was outstanding with a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar topping and silky custard. The Budino was incredibly rich, decadent, and one of the highlights of the night. The Salted Caramel Gelato was also enjoyed. Service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that made us want to linger. One funny tip: the bathrooms were spotless, but the toilets are surprisingly low! I almost sat down much faster than I expected. so be careful. Overall, Ciao Bella was a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, generous portions, beautiful décor, and a relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Also important to note, they close at 8 PM. It's decorated like a true family style place, cute flowers and colors and light fixtures. The service is friendly, but if you are in a hurry, they are not. They bring olive oil and herbs to the table with homemade bread to start which is an extra touch I think most restaurants have stopped doing. They did offer any pasta dish to be made with gluten-free penne. My pasta dish was tasty and warm but the meat was sparse, and though the prices seem fair, I would say all around this was an average experience. I can see how this could have sentimental value to people who live in the neighborhood, and I do like to support independent restaurants so I'm glad we tried it, but if you are a true foodie and if you are looking for great Italian, I don't think this is the spot.

I therefore wanted to give it a try, since I think that Joey Nova (and Elmar Pizza) are the best New York-style pizzas in the Twin Cities. However, there is no ownership or any other ties between Pizza Novara and Joey Nova. Although they both serve New York style pizza and you can get a whole pie or a slice, that's where the similarity ends. My wife and I tried two different kinds of slices. I opted for the plain cheese, while my wife got the pepperoni. As an ex-New Yorker, i would say the pizza here is OK, but doesn't hit as well as the other two restaurants that I mention above. The pizza is ordered at the counter and brought to your table when ready. Both my wife and I thought the counter person was a bit snippy when asked a few questions about the pizza. Nothing terrible, but not particularly welcoming. There are lots of hotels surrounding this restaurant and I'm sure they get a lot of business (take-out and delivery) from the hotels and it's certainly better than most of the chains. The restaurant is bright and cheerful and there are tables to sit at if you want to eat in the restaurant.
