I just bought my car a week ago from D-Patrick. Debbie Goldsberry was my salesperson and I can't say enough good things about her! she was so extremely patient with me and my crazy crazy schedule just trying to get in there to talk to her...and then when I finally had time, I just popped in. she already had a couple cars in mind to show me based off our phone conversation and the payment I wanted to be around. But this fabulous lady, actually listened to the type of car I wanted and had it lined up for me to drive!!! and an hour later I was out the door...I had to go get my son from school so she even went above and beyond and delivered it to my house! We had an absolutely horrible experience at D-Patrick and want to make sure others are aware. We purchased a used car for my 16-year-old daughter two weeks ago. Car drove fine on test drive, no check engine light, etc. The process itself was fast and the salesperson/staff were friendly. They assured us that even though the car was sold 'as is' that they had checked it out and there was nothing going on we needed to be aware of. After about 200 miles (around 2 weeks) driven the engine started misfiring and delivering no power and the check engine light came on. She stopped driving it. On the way to the mechanic the engine seized up. When the mechanics arrived to help me there was no oil in the car. The engine needs a complete replacement, which will cost more than we paid for the car. When I spoke with the service manager he told me this car never should've been sold to anyone and sent to auction and certainly shouldn't have left the lot with no oil in it! We reached out to the salesperson we bought it from (who had called to check on the vehicle) and were told "Sorry, that's too bad. If you want to come in and buy something else from us we might knock off another $500-$1000 depending how much you spend and how much we have in the car." Was also refused the opportunity to even speak to the Sales Manager. When we mentioned there was no oil present in the car (and no leaks found) he just said "You bought it as-is, those things happen all the time here". We've also spoken to a family friend who is a dealer sales manager and he confirmed this car never should've been sold and said any reputable business would make it right. We will never use D-Patrick again and I will be sharing this information with as many people as possible. read more

My husband and I bought a used Chrysler Town and Country from D-Patrick in the beginning of August, As Is. We had it home not even 3 days days before the check engine light came on. We tried reaching our salesperson and anyone there who might be able to help us and were constantly told they'd pass on the message. After dodging our calls (conveniently long enough to miss the return window) I finally was able to reach someone who said they'd "ask the manager" and would get back with me. After waiting for them to get back to us for almost a month, I finally took it to a local dealer who notified us the transmission was shot and would need to be replaced. Over $6,500 after we JUST purchased it. I called to see if the GAP insurance would cover this and again was passed around and had my calls dodged by D-Patrick. When we first bought it we were assured that everything checked out through their diagnostics and that the van was in great shape. No one buys a vehicle expecting it to not work within the month. Nobody at D-Patrick (except the finance gentleman) has even apologized that this has happened. Do NOT go here for your vehicle! read more

I was looking for a new used car for MONTHS and had horrible luck with many dealerships in town, until I came to this D-Patrick location. Greg Givens helped me find a car that was perfect and fit all of my needs, right in my price range. I got a great deal, which is hard to come by in today's market (pandemic). He was upfront and honest with me, was not overly aggressive about selling the car, and was more than happy to let us get it inspected by a third party before buying it. He even took the car over to the shop on his day off, and texted me updates when it was finished! Good service is unfortunately hard to come by nowadays, so I was thrilled to be buying a car from someone who was polite, kind, and helpful. read more

Back in March 2023, I had been in need of a new car. The car I had was on its last leg and it was not going to be able to get me to my destination anymore. I went to D Patrick and told the dealer named Daniel that I was looking for a used car. I liked the Red 2021 Kia K5 they had in the lot. I took it for a test drive and really liked it. Now I had no knowledge of what a Kia K5 was worth at the time, nor what the process of buying a car was like. Daniel told me the price of the car used, 2 years old with 60K miles on it would be about 26.5K. I bought it not knowing that THEY SOLD ME THE CAR MORE THAN WHAT IT WAS WORTH BRAND NEW. Brand new, the Kia K5 was JUST over 26K brand new. They took advantage of me, and sold me a used care for more than what it was worth brand new. I advise everyone that unless you seriously know how to negotiate buying a car, DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They WILL exploit your lack of knowledge and your need for a car. I am not stuck with a car that I can barely afford because I paid almost double what it was worth. read more

Avoid this place like the plague!! Went in to check out and test drive used Audi A6, that portrayed on the website as a clean and inspected vehicle. Upon arrival car was filthy, bumper was held on with zip ties and as i looked under the hood oil was leaking out the side, the sales rep Daniel Coones stood back and watched the hood fall on my head twice, laughing each time. When i pointed out the oil leak he said "that shouldnt be an issue just keep putting oil in it". After taking it for a test drive and having the transmission slip gears, i took it back and told him they would need to take off the amount for repairs he said they couldnt. So i asked wasnt this vehicle tested and inspected by their mechanics. He stated " No our inspection is only for road worthy confirmation meaning turn signals work, tail lights work and the vehicle goes when gas is applied and stops when brakes are applied, nothing else". I then told him the KBB in excellent conditon is what they are asking and the vehicle is not in excellent condition, He stated " O we dont use KBB we use NADA and it says this car is worth this much." He said this while 10 ft behind him was a big banner saying all cars are rated with KBB. I pointed at the sign and he quickly stated " Uh ya i mean i just checked it with NADA i dont know what KBB value is." I then said if they repair these issues i would be willing to pay what they are asking. He stated " Uh ya no it would be to expensive for us to fix these issues." So i said Ok goodbye Wasted 90mins because of their false advertising and deceptive tactics. Again Avoid this Dealership at all costs!!! read more

This is THE WORST dealership I have EVER dealt witg. We purchased a vehicle in January of 2022. The vehicle was a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. Less than 24 hours after driving it off the lot we had an oil leak. I had to purchase $50 in oil to get the vehicle HOME. My husband took the car back to the dealership to get worked on the next day. He sat at the dealership from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and basically told him when they ran the check on the vehicle when we purchased it they "missed" a crack on something and replaced it. My husband drove it home, and LESS THAN A WEEK LATER we had another OIL LEAK. We ended up spending other $30 in oil to drive it BACK to the dealership, where they told us they would fix the problem "again". We informed them we either wanted our $12,000 deposit back, or to be put in a different vehicle. They ended up putting us in a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. My husband and I live in Ridgway, IL. and decided to take our vehicle to the Marion, IL to get serviced because they could get us in sooner. The Marion dealership told us NONE of the air filters had been replaced on the car since it was purchased, the break pads were almost to the point of needing replaced, and the spark plugs were to a point where if they blew it would damage our engine. The service coordinator informed me these are all things that should have been replaced/services by D-Patrick when we purchased the vehicle. That ended up costing us $600 to fix. Today my husband and I were out to eat and our vehicle dies. We were able to get it jumped, and drove it to our local auto-zone. They informed us the battery was fine and was holding a charge so the issue was most likely our alternator. So, we call D-Patrick because at this point we are frustrated, and assuming this issue is covered all our warranties we are paying monthly for. We spoke with the service department and they informed us the earliest they could get us in was JULY. Our vehicle is currently NOT RUNNING AT ALL, and they can't get it in until July. So, we ask to speak to Nick the sales manager. Which is the person who sold us the 2018 Volkswagen atlas the SECOND time around. Nick tells us there is nothing they can do. At this point my husband and I are beyond frustrated, and ask to speak to someone higher up because we are just being given the ring around. Nick tells us to basically call back once we "calm down". We will NEVER purchase a vehicle from this dealership ever again, and I plan on informing every person I know to NEVER purchase a vehicle from this company. A COMPLETE JOKE! read more

bought my 2008 Ford Focus back in early September. I feel they took advantage of my desperate situation of needing a new car, and gave me less for my trade in than everyone else had offered. As the 45 day mark approached for my temp tags, I called them up and asked where my title information was. They said they had sent out the paperwork late, but it would be there soon. The paperwork did eventually arrive however it was missing most of the documents I needed. I went back to the dealership and asked if I could have the documents to go get my tags. After stalling for about 45 minutes, they came out and said that they had misplaced the title paperwork and that they would have to reorder it from the state. I asked if they could extend my temp plates until the new paperwork came in. They said, and I quote, "you should continue driving on expired plates and if you get pulled over, we can do the best we could to help you out with the ticket." Once I told them that was not going to work and I needed something immediately, they reluctantly got me a rental. Once my title paperwork came in I went to the BMV and was charged a $15 late fee for allowing the temp tags to expire. I went back to the dealership and said that since it was their screw up that caused the plates to expire, I needed to be reimbursed. They said they would have it in a day or two and would be issued by check, as they did not carry petty cash. After a week of zero contact from them, I go back in person, once again explain everything, upon which time they handed me $15 in cash. The same cash they could not hand me a week prior. This entire experience was completely unnecessary. This dealership has made numerous excuses, dragged their feet and tried to pass the additional costs on to me for their poor handling of my purchase. read more
