Big disappointment! Just got back from a 2 night stay at DSands. July 2026. My family used to stay at DSands at least once a year for a week. I can no longer recommend this place. The inside of our unit #207 was reasonably clean and comfortable. But the exterior is very run down. Deck out back pealing missing half the paint and so much seagull poop everywhere. Stairwell walls are dirty with chipping paint. Trash and cobwebs in stairwells. The pool is completely unacceptable with black mold covering the entire back side of the entry door, green moss covering the wall in the pool area, dirt brown pool deck, dirty ring in the pool wall. Broken wall by the shower and no pool heater. This place is gross and not at all what it used to be! I won't ever be staying there again. We paid over $300 a night for that nasty experience. So not worth it! Vacationers beware! read more

Bring your own blankets and look around for cleanliness. We came here through Air B&B, and I didn't think to check the reviews of the condo separately on yelp and not just the hosts page of the condo from previous people. Right before we got to the condo we received an email with extra instructions that were specifically from D sands and not the host person, "can't check in early, be patient with our cleaning staff because they are small and try their best, don't yell at them." That right there made us nervous that there's been some cleaning issues and that they 'try their best' but it might not be great. The location itself is great, right on the beach and we liked that it was near a lot of restaurants/shopping areas. The condo is old, toilet is loud and unsure if it was even going to flush but makes sounds for quite a while then flushes, furniture is pretty old and worn out. The gutters are broken off (see photo) so the water completely pools on the patio. There was dust and spiders in areas, as well as ants in the bathroom. I liked the toiletry box provided with shampoo/conditioner/soap and the kitchenette had similar box of items with soap. Kitchen was clean, you must clean any of the dishes used. Hair found on the bathroom floor outside of the shower. We used our own blankets. There's lots of towels, and extra pillows which was nice. TV was good. read more

They need to state in their listings that there is No Elevator. We canceled our stay once we got there because our room was on the 3rd floor. My husband and I are both disabled and the stairs and carrying our stuff up and down them is a no go for us. Parking is minimal. Just enough spots for the rooms, so if someone parks kerkwankitty too bad :/ read more

We stayed in room 314 over this past weekend. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a full kitchen with dishes and cooking utensils, even a few spices. It was just 2 of us, but could definitely accommodate a family. It has a bedroom with a king bed, a queen bed by the ocean window in the living area and a full size sofa bed. We enjoy the fireplace in the living area as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Room 313. This is by no means a condo, but more of an old run down Motel 8 hotel. Room was very outdated with early 90s hotel furniture. Pigeons were nesting on our balcony and poo everywhere. There's no door mats to wipe the feet so probably tracking in poo onto the carpet. Kitchen had 1 wine glass and 3 forks and hardly any kitchen utensils. The linoleum kitchen floor felt sticky like it had never been mopped. There was not coffee table and the Murphy bed was such an eyesore. The hot tub/pool area was gross and had grim around the rim. The property doesn't have any where to hose down sandy feet and shoes so we had to track it into our room and wash off in the shower. Only decent thing about this room was that it was top floor and corner unit and memories were made.....but won't be back. read more

Second time we have stayed and had to have housekeeping come and clean. Give them the benefit of the doubt last time as we have stayed before with no issues. Floors weren't clean, furniture needed vacuumed, table not wiped off. Told office and a woman came and just picked up lint and debris, hair etc. She did not vacuum. Brushed crumbs off the table to floor and just left them. We won't stay here again. read more

The room we stayed in was horrifically dirty and smelt of urine and rotten seafood. The front desk staff was rude, unprofessional and unwilling to do anything about it. They said we they could have housekeeping come and check it out. We had already done that the night before and simply wanted to be moved to another room. They would not do it unless we paid again! We already spent $758. Since we couldn't stomach the smell of the room, we stayed one night and had to come home. It ruined our anniversary trip and wasted a lot of money. There were many other things we had planned on doing so other businesses in the area missed out because of their bad business practices. read more

The front desk woman was rude at check-in as well as when she came up to our room to address the cleanseliness problem . Room was not cleaned. Beds had food stains on them and other stains on the sheet and bed skirts . My daughter's bed also had hair in it . Bathtub and bathroom sink had hair... bathroom floor with Sandy . There was rusted paint cans and other garbage laying around property. The balcony was closed off and we were told there was no vacancies yet the sign on the hotel said vacancies during our whole stay . Would never recommend would never go back . Advertises as a condo, it's just an old run down hotel. It's loud, wall are thin and kids running wild through hotel most of the time. Dirty dirty dirty! Pigeon poo all over balcony (not usuable), rust in freezer. Not worth the $206, go up the road and stay at the Commons, much nicer, worth the money. This place is a dump. read more

Great place to stay in Lincoln City! Great location right on the Beach. We had a King Bed Suite and it was very spacious. Nice kitchen, comfortable love seat facing the large picture window so you could relax and enjoy the ocean waves. Nice round table dining table and chairs. Huge shower and separate area for getting ready with hair and make up. Comfortable bed and very clean! read more

Always loved DSands especially when they had the duvet covers, this last trip it was just quilts and brown fleece blankets and everything smelled like stinky feet. They need to wash all the bedding and provide extra toilet paper! read more

To preface this review, my family and I have stayed at D'Sands before and had a good experience. Our recent stay was quite different. We checked in at 4pm on July 4th, and were relatively happy with the room. As we were getting ready for bed, we noticed Lice on the mattress of the queen bed. We then called the after hours staff to report the issue, and someone came to assist us within the hour. They disposed of the lice, and offered to change all the bedding. Given the scenario, we absolutely did not feel comfortable sleeping in the bed, and so they gave us an inflatable air mattress to sleep on for the night (all hotels in the area, including D'Sands were booked solid for the Holiday weekend). My wife and I got about 2 hours of sleep on the air mattress. The next morning we showed up at the front desk when they open at 10am (there was a sign that said someone would be back by 11am). When the front desk attendant was back, we outlined the situation, they called the management team, and we were offered a "free cancellation for our 2nd and 3rd night," but that we would have to pay full price for the first night + a cleaning fee. To net this out, our room had lice, we slept on an air mattress, and it not only cost us $577, but our kids were devastated that our vacation was cut short to one night. In addition, we also had to buy $40 worth of lice shampoo and other materials, and quarantine our luggage when we got home. We spoke with the General Manager (Clarissa Smith) this morning, and that conversation was less than pleasant as well. Essentially she implied that we may have brought the lice, and since there was no way to prove that we didn't they were not interested in refunding the first night stay. As someone that spends 100 nights a year in hotels, I can honestly say that this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. And frankly, I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt, and we're extremely understanding people, but our experience at the D'Sands and with their management staff was flat out unacceptable. The views are great, but do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else during your next stay in Lincoln City, or on the Oregon Coast. read more

You can't always plan on the weather being sunny in January but if it isn't all of the D'sands rooms look right out to the beach and watching a storm in a nice warm room. This January we had four beautiful days where I was able to take these photos. I will have to wait for next year to see a storm, but everyday it is enjoyable to watch the waves break on the shore. An amazing find! I sooo skeptical about choosing this location as I am a hotel snob. First of all, do not let the "motel" title fool you! These are very nicely remodeled condo's, right on the beach! We stayed in the "Queen Studio Suite". The price was outstanding! The front desk person, Jenny, greeted us with the most friendly attitude ever! She had put our names on the marquis as it was our 22 anniversary! The area is full of restaurants, as well as so much coastal activity! Internet was very quick! Our room allowed us to park right outside the door to our room. No stairs for this room! Don't miss out on this property! read more

This place was filthy and disgusting. They should give me my money back. The door knob to the patio was falling off the glass had smears and boogers all over it. Also this door was super tough to open or close, they need a carpenter to fix this door which does not fit the frame. If you walked on the carpet your feet or socks would turn black. The couch and chair have smears of god knows what on them, gross! The toilet was nasty dirty and not properly mounted to the floor. It rocks like a bucking bronco while you sit on it. The shower temp knobs weren't caulked and wiggled and water has to be getting behind the shower walls. The patio was peppered with bird droppings and black mold. The bedroom had sneezes on one mirror and boogers and hand prints on another. The TVs and multiple lights were unplugged. This place is a dump inside and out. We were in unit 202 but from the exterior they all seem the same. When I called the property manager they said "sorry, we are having trouble with our maids". Oh yeah, both comforters are stained with brown smears. Yuck! read more

If they are full, don't worry, they are open to you parking your RV in the already over full parking lot and just staying in them. Here is a picture of two RV's with people staying in them. Last night people were circling the lot looking for places and ended up, creatively, creating there own. This place changed its model this year and I have to say that after coming here for the past 15 years, we are going out today to find a new place we can start using. Also, they say "No Pets", but no one is here to enforce so by all means, bring them with. One couple has a puppy that I am sure is peeing all over,but like I said, that ok. My family stayed here on the Fourth of July weekend for a few nights. We had been traveling from Northern California, up The I-5 corridor, Columbia Gorge, Astoria and down the coast for two weeks. This was by far our favorite place! As parents, we could sit in the room and balcony and still keep an eye on our kids (9, 13, 16) playing on the beach. The beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchenette has everything we needed. The cleaning staff was courteous and helpful. The pool was enough and the hot tub was lovely to read in. D Sands was the perfect beach getaway for resting and recharging before another week in the at heading south down the coast. We will surely be back. read more

First off, this is not a Hotel. Third party booking sites will reference the property as a Hotel. It is not. This is a rental agency that rents out old outdated condos. They will send you a letter the day before checking in (to late to cancel by the way) that you will not be provided Hotel like service. This is not necessarily their fault as they themselves do not advertise "Hotel". I just want to make it clear to future renters. My daughter arrived at the rental and found that the cleaning was sub par as can be references by the attached photos. Floors needed vacuumed, food crumbs on the placemats and actual food clumps on the bedding. The floors were sticky as well as the door knobs. An old towel was left on the floor of the bathroom. The staff was notified immediately and their solution was to change the sheets, and remove the placemats since they "couldn't be washed". Why would you leave a dirty placemat that you admit never gets cleaned? Gross! They then expected my daughter to just deal with the rest until the next day since the staff available is not "trained" to actually clean. Remember, NOT A HOTEL. This rental is "guaranteed" to be cleaned and sanitized before your arrival. Well, as you can see for yourself, it was not. They expected my daughter just to accept it. My daughter rebooked with a different establishment for her five day visit. She didn't want to stay in a room that wasn't clean. D sands refused to offer a refund because, "they were not given the opportunity to make it right." Them making it right would take a day. Unacceptable. I also provided a note that was written by the staff member acknowledging that she would "touch up" areas but would be unable to actually clean it. Renter beware, you will rent a low quality room with sub standard cleaning and customer service. read more

Booked a trip, had insurance, got sick, tried to cancel trip. While trying to cancel, ended up cancelling insurance by mistake. called to explain and ask if there was anything I could do. Travel company called hotel. They refused to help and took my money anyway. By telling me they were unwilling to help, they were telling me that they didn't ever want to do business with me again. I've stayed here numerous times over the decades and it's a nice place to spend the night. Full disclosure is that DSands is always my second choice. I do have a "first choice" hotel in LC that I prefer. That said, there is nothing wrong with DSands. Great ocean views (which I don't get at my preferred hotel). Pleasant, efficient staff. Prices are reasonable considering that lodging can get expensive in LC especially in-season. Great, central location. The rooms are not the fanciest although the hotel has been renovated at least once in the past 30 years that I've been staying there. But it's always very clean and very comfortable. Parking can sometimes be a bit snug... I gather there are less parking spaces than there are rooms... that or many of the guests have people visiting them and thus more cars. read more

my family thought coming here on a rainy weekend would be good because it would probably not be busy but no. The "hotel" it's self is not that bad besides the parking! Parking is terrible.. there's barely no spots, people are trying to leave cones to take up spaces there's over 30 rooms but 10 parking spots??, the tv was broken and the guy who came to "fix it" just put new batteries in the remote which that was not the problem.. I'll start with the positives and follow that up with the negatives. Positives: This place is pristine and clean. They have a nice large window, and every room has an ocean view. The view from our room was spectacular and I will be including a picture. The pool, along with the hot tub, has a designated adult swimming time, which is so nice for adults who just want a quiet hour to relax. Lower floors have a back door so you can get directly down to the beach from your room, which is great. The beach is very close and there are steps to get down to it. Negatives: They have a nice big window facing the ocean, but it doesn't open; there's a tiny window under the big one that can be opened but you can barely hear the ocean. No pets allowed whatsoever. The room coffee is terrible, so plan on bringing your own. The lower floors have a back door in each room for easy access to the beach, but with the kind of lock it has, you can't get back in your room through the back door, so you have to go clear around the building, which I found pretty inconvenient. read more

Nice kitchenette supplied with all the pots ,pans and dishes. Stove, microwave and real coffee maker. Great to watch the waves from the 2nd floor. We were heading to California from Vancouver, BC for our wedding anniversary 32 years ago and stayed here for what we thought was a pit stop. We ended up skipping California and stayed here the remainder of the time. "D"Sands became our vacation destination for the whole 12 years we lived in BC. Being back here to celebrate our 32 year anniversary has been incredible! The view is unmatched, the rooms are large and very clean, the rooms are updated, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our tv remote didn't work one night, we placed a call to the front desk and literally, within a minute someone was there to help us and fix the problem. We really love this location. 2nd floor right next to the stairs. Beautiful views. Exceptionally cleeeeeean!!! all the staff have been amazing. Our first night the heat wouldn't turn off so waking up was sweaty, but after we told them they promptly had a repair man come and fix it. The kitchen utensils leave much to be desired. Very cheap knives, not enough pots and pans (very basic set up) to really "get down" in the kitchen like we do when we go on vacation.... bed is little more firm than I prefer but it's still amazingly comfortable. This was our first time staying here and it was a pleasure! All in all, very comfortable! Only reason it didn't get 5 stars from us is the kitchen utensils! read more

If you are looking for room with an ocean view in Lincoln City that's right on the beach and not out in the boonies, D'Sands might fill your bill. Room rates push $200/night, even during the low season. This might seem spendy, but it is still comparable to other Lincoln City hotels with ocean views. It made us feel better to know that some friends of ours paid $180/night for a suite at a hotel in Kapowsin up north that was not even, per se, on the ocean. But still, paint shouldn't be peeling and maid service should be complete. Rooms do not have dishwashers and instead of maids not doing windows, D'Sands maids do not do dishes. Also, beware that all units have bedrooms that face the very close-by and noisy Highway 101. I digress, but when did Lincoln City get so crowded, with its Portland/Seattle-style traffic? It wasn't like this four years ago. We slept on the queen-size Murphy bed in the living room (all units have living rooms that face the ocean) to avoid the Highway 101 noise, and fell asleep to the sound of waves rolling onto the beach. That was very nice, actually. D'Sands has an indoor pool and jacuzzi, but we didn't try them. read more

My wife and I decided to surprise the kids after a long weekend at Grandma and Grandpas. After we spent a long, exhausting, beer laden weekend in Bend, we decided to shoot to Lincoln City for some school clothes shopping, fun, and relaxation. We arrived at about 9pm. We were able to get a room on the top floor which had an outstanding view of the beach and ocean. The room was spacious, included a furnished kitchen, had a hide-away bed that folded into the wall, and the bedroom was very large with a huge bed. The noise from 101 was a little much, but didn't interupt our sleep. D Sands has great access to the beach. Despite getting here so late in the evening, we were still able to head down to the sand and build a nice fire to roast marshmellows and hot dogs. The kids thouroughly enjoyed their time. The next AM we were able to take the kids down to the pool and hot tub. The pool isn't too large, and fit our family just fine. Once 2 others family got in, we decided it was starting to get a bit cramped and headed to the hot tub. The area is clean, and is generally stocked with towels. They were out when we got there, but were able to get them re-stocked in time for us to get out and carry on. It was spendy for the room, but considering it's size, and location, we were happy with what we had. We'll be back to D' Sands I'm sure. read more

My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our engagement. The room was right on the water! It was absolutely beautiful all around. The furnishings were newer, fireplace was perfection and the kitchen was stocked with the necessities. Everything was clean and in working order. The pool and spa area was spotless. The flooring in that area is great to prevent slips but it hurts your feet so bring sandals! Most importantly, to me at least, was the staff being friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I've never stayed in a hotel with such amazing staff! We will absolutely be back! read more

We have been here twice and it is a sweet place to spend a night on the beach. (Same room!) We have not had an issue with anyone above us, it was quiet both times. Everyone we met, from the front desk people to the maintenance people are friendly and helpful. They all wave, are happy to converse and tell you what is going on in town and where to get a good meal. The view is amazing! We slept with the window open and just listened to the waves. It is so convenient to just walk right back to the room from the beach and since we stay on the first floor we get to park right outside the door to the room. read more

My family has been coming to the the D Sands for many years. It is our favorite place to stay. We were down there this past weekend and was SO DISAPPOINTED. It has turned into a dump. The ice machines were not available. The patio chairs were broke. The patios were disgusting- bird droppings all over them. We found three bugs in our room. The employees at the front desk had no clue about anything when we went to the desk for information. The hot tub had caution tape all over it. They did not acknowledge senior discounts or AAA. It was definitely not worth the $700 for two nights that we spent. We will not be returning. read more

Only thing I didn't really love was having to walk all the way to the end and around to get to the beach! I wanted to just walk right out onto the beach! I think some rooms you can do that with.
