We had a problem with the stained concrete in our outside kitchen. The plastic cover burned the outer layer of the sealer . Jacob the owner came on time on Saturday morning and immediately recognized the problem: He suggested trying a less expensive DYI method to save some $$. You don't see this often : He said to call him if this does not work. He even suggested to help me put the sealant free of charge. Talk about an honest guy! Jacob has been amazing to work with! So responsive and communicative! When I installed Carrara marble in my kitchen, I was warned that it is very hard to maintain and that it stains easily. I figured that I'm careful and I don't cook so I wasn't necessarily that worried. Well, the Carrara is crazy folks. If it even gets WET, there will be a dark water stain. Water build up, like from dishes on the counter, can lead to a dark discoloration. We honestly stopped caring after a while since the counters were so etched and stained. When we started having a professional cleaner come, he suggested having it refinished once a year. I was curious how much that would cost or if it would even make a difference, so I did some research and got some quotes. It seemed like a lot of money, especially when it will just get ruined again, but I decided to give it a try one time and see how much restoration is even possible. I really liked Jacob because he seemed hard working, dedicated, and easy to work with. Some of the larger stone care companies never even responded to me. Jacob was honest about the fact that not all the stains would come out and that it would likely just get stained again. I thought about it and decided to go ahead with it the one time and schedule a time for Jacob to come do the job. He came with one other worker and they diligently worked for about seven hours (working right through lunch) before they finally took a short break for lunch before cleaning the grout in my bathroom. Everything looks amazing - beyond what I could have ever expected in a restoration. He was able to get out almost all of the stains and etching and restore its original shine. Looking at it now, I feel embarrassed about the state that I had allow it to get to. Flash forward less than a week later, and they were shooting a commercial at my house and put a wet flower pot down on the marble... leaving a dark ring. Jacob offered to come back and add more sealer. Then production offered to pay for the fix and not only was Jacob was able to turn around the estimate quickly, he gave me a $100 discount to make it a more reasonable charge for the production company and offered to come do it for me even in advance of receiving the payment from them. We found LA Stone Care here on Yelp and could not be happier with the results. We have a caesarstone island counter that began chipping on the edges shortly after it was installed. Jacob repaired the chips and beveled the edges in a way that completely restored the counter so that it looked brand new and will resist chipping going forward. Where do I even begin. I guess I'll start from the beginning: A year ago, my husband and I moved into a beautiful 1936 colonial with the most epic kitchen. And of course, it came with the dream/nightmare that is carrara marble countertops. And so. Much. Counterspace. we were so fortunate to find Jacob of LA Stoneworks- we have had several experiences with him and have been elated with the outcome each time- initially, he removed a stain from a Caesarstone countertop in our kitchen. This was amazing because most stone specialists will not work with this material. Nevertheless, Jacob took on the job, and was able to totally correct problem, and make the countertop as good as new! I am extremely happy to be able to write a review on behalf of Jacob and LA Stone Care in Glendale. I have a 100 year old stone fireplace that was crumbling on the bottom of the outside. Before I contacted Jacob, I was in touch with a couple of other companies, one of which wanted to charge me over a thousand dollars for the work and another close to that. I recently hired Jacob to seal the marble countertops and floors in my brand new home. I interviewed several marble care experts, and Jacob was by far the most thorough and professional person to work with. Not only did Jacob arrive on a Sunday morning to do an initial consultation (when most people take the day off), but he also provided a very thorough and honest assessment of what work was actually needed in a brand new house. The other people I had interviewed suggested polishing all surfaces (which costs more), whereas Jacob suggested only cleaning and sealing because it was a brand new house with natural stones in excellent condition. Jacob expertly identified the natural stones in my home (rare marble, granite, limestone), and was very knowledgeable about how to care for those stones. I loved that he was genuine, honest, and that he did not try to sell me unnecessary services. Jacob's written proposal was extremely thorough and easy to understand, with a full breakdown of cost of the proposed work, and a separate breakdown of additional services if I chose them. His pricing was very fair. He responded immediately via text or email when I needed clarifications. Jacob and his team showed up on time on the day of the project. They made sure to protect my cabinetry and flooring before starting the work. My house took an entire two days to complete, with 6.5 bathrooms, a large kitchen, two bars, and a BBQ countertop. Everyone Jacob brought in to complete the project was professional and considerate, and I trusted them to do a good job, especially since Jacob was working with and supervising his employees the entire time. When the project was completed, Jacob walked through the house with me and we checked off everything in the proposal. Jacob seems to be the only guy in the LA area who genuinely understands the properties and proper care of natural stones, that I've found anyways. After a long and devastating battle with my new quartzite and horrible (absolutely horrendous) stone fabricator, Jacob came recommended by our new stone fab AND my husband sent me his info from Yelp at the same time. I reached out for some stains that had gotten even worse after a poultice was applied by a, let's call this one the "in-between stone fab". Jacob worked with me over the phone with photos and loads of questions to truly understand the nature of what what going on with these stains. He already knew what seemed to be everything about this type of stone and it's natural enemies, but he still researched every possible plan of attack on the stains. While we were unfortunately unable to reverse the damage done, he did everything he could to help me understand as well as treat the stain. Jacob is someone I will ALWAYS go to for stone care. Since moving into our new house, we have slowly watched as significant cracks around in the granite around our kitchen sink have grown. When it got to the point of being able to look around inside the crack, we decided to cough up the dough to have it fixed. I don't know if LA Stone Work is expensive or cheap or what... I don't care. What I do know is that the work done by Jacob was a bargain for the price. He takes his time, and it is not just blunt repair work, but actual craftsmanship. He took time to mix color into the patches to try and match our somewhat complicated granite and he sealed the sink to prevent any further water damage. He said he never encountered my type of stone before, and wanted a sample. I let him borrow a good sized piece of my leftover slab so he can 'test' out how it works.
