Men, women and children's cuts!
Liz N.

I found a new hair dresser in sunset! Love that this salon is close to my home. I had such a great experience last week with my own haircut that I brought my daughter today. D style cuts is a small salon with just one chair. I highly suggest calling and making an appointment. My daughter and I were the only ones in the salon and D himself is a great stylist! He explained everything before he started and went through each process step by step. My cut came with a shampoo and finished mini head and neck massage. The salon is very well ventilated and masks are required. Prices are reasonable too.

David was attentive, respectful and friendly. The place was clean and he did a wonderful job. Haircut included hair wash and a head/scalp massage. Very happy with the haircut. I highly recommend D Style Cuts.

Got my biweekly cut again. Can't beat the price and service here. 1. You get a fresh cut 2. Get your hair washed 3. Get your scalp massaged 4. Great 80-90s music playing 5.back in 2 weeks and repeat!

Been through tons of haircut places in the past 15 years. This is the best experience you will get in San Francisco for mens haircut at least. There isn't a bunch of people lingering around waiting so Dung takes his time with you. More of a 1 on 1 experience and great a routine treatment you will not get anywhere else. Do not miss.

David always does an exceptional job for my toddler!

My husband and my son have been going here pre Covid, but had to resort to me giving them cuts during the pandemic. Glad that David is open again! Price is soooo reasonable and he does such a good job!

David is the greatest -- nicest guy around and a fantastic barber. My sons (10) and (8) go there and so do I. Best barber in the Sunset!

Ask the Community - D Style Cuts

Is this business still open? I used the # in comments but didn't receive a response. Thanks for any help.

I couldn't get a hold of him so we have since found new hair stylists for my son and husband.

Does anyone know what happened to David? My son and husband got a father-son haircut with him back in April and both loved it! Been calling him since he got back from vacation on June 27th but he hasn't picked up or responded to any voicemails.

I just posted similar question. Wondering if you were able to connect with him?

How much is a haircut and how do you make an appointment?

$35/cut for men. Call for appointment.

What number do I call to make an appointment for my toddler? I don't see any phone number listed. Thank you!

Hi the number to call or text is 415-530-0723 Enjoy your cut! He's great with kids.

Let me tell you Heidi is AMAZING!! She was attentive,…read morehighly skilled, and fast! She did my first razor cut and I'm in love. I already booked my next appointment 2 months in advance cause she's so in demand. Highly recommend!

Review is for a cut with Daisy…read more TLDR: Cut was fine but a shorter than we wanted, and the stylist was incredibly rude & had very little patience or understanding. Told my mom chat about the experience and another mom guessed which stylist it was based on having a very similar experience with Daisy in the past. Long version: Took my son to Prep today for his first haircut. His father and I didn't want much cut off, but he had a few very long scraggly strands and a bit of a rat's tail and I didn't trust myself to trim it and get it right. I messaged the salon ahead of time and warned them that he's 21mo, it was his first cut, and that he may be upset & specifically stated I wanted to warn them about that. They said that was fine and offered for us to come a bit early so he could get comfortable. Got there, he was immediately wary but calmed down with the iPad and a cartoon. Great! Told the hairdresser what we wanted and that I really didn't want much cut off at all and my preference was for less than she'd normally do. She said that was fine, and she'd generally take off 1/2 an inch and in some areas she'd cut more since it was his first cut and the length was very uneven. I said great, but I wanted 1/4 inch as the baseline and understood that some strands definitely needed more than that. My son has beautiful big curls/waves and we wanted to keep as much of that as possible. She starts, he's a bit uncomfortable but focuses on the iPad (thank god for screens when you need them) and is generally doing ok. Yay! At one point I tell her I like the length at the back and don't want more trimmed. She moves to sides. Maybe 3-4 mins later she goes back and is taking more off the back and I told her again I didn't want it any shorter again. I didn't say it rudely, raise my voice, or have any sort of mean tone. I just made the request I had clearly stated from the start. She steps back and huffs and says "I can't work like this!" She proceeds to go on a tirade about how she told me she had to even out his hair so it could grow out properly, and kept saying she can't work like this. I assume the "like this" meant with a parent giving her feedback on the cut. Then she proceeds to SOLELY address my husband as if I was crazy & unreasonable and he was the reasonable man who would set me straight. Also added "and on top of it he's a difficult child and he's constantly moving!" Like... yeah duh? He's not even 2? And I even warned the salon he was likely to be upset! I ended up in tears - she made me feel terrible and I basically told her as much and stepped outside to compose myself. I go back in, and she begrudgingly finishes the cut with a terrible attitude, without any apologies, and then leaves in a huff at the end. She ruined our experience of our son's first haircut - and that's something we'll never get back. I was already emotional at the idea of cutting it, and she really made the experience awful. If a children's stylist isn't used to parents being a bit uneasy for a first time cut, getting feedback on length, or a child that moves and isn't happy to be getting a cut - then frankly she isn't in the right role. Also - giving a hair stylist feedback on length is an incredibly common & normal thing to do! The bare minimum she could have done was given us the feedback with a calm and professional attitude and offered to have a different stylist finish the cut. Instead she made a rude scene. I was incredibly upset and gave feedback to the woman at the front desk (who was very kind) who then had the manager come speak to me. She was very apologetic but acted surprised & incredulous that Daisy could have been rude or impatient. That said, when I messaged my mom group who had recommended Prep to me sharing my experience, another mom GUESSED which stylist it was (I hadn't named her) based off of having a very similar experience with her. Clearly this isn't an isolated experience. The same mom told me she has since had great experiences with Kate S.

I needed a haircut for my toddler daughter, whose hair we haven't cut since she was born! I wanted…read moreto finally get it professionally done, and this was a decent spot. They charge $35 for all haircuts, no matter if they're adults or children. No appointments taken - just walk right in, and the place was empty for me. Cash only. They had a special booster for kids, but nothing cute like a little airplane or anything like that. They gave her the same little poncho they would give adults, and it just looked so cute on my daughter. Generally the haircut was super fast, only taking about 15 mins, and my toddler did surprisingly well. However, the lady cutting my hair didn't hear what length I wanted. I wanted it shoulder length for her, and it looked like what she cut was only an 1-2" shorter than her original length. So basically, she had to go back and redo the whole haircut. This is when my toddler started to lose it. Thankful for the screentime, a little goes a long way, and her haircut looks wonderful. She layered it, and really fixed up her bangs. At the end of the visit, she offered a balloon. My daughter and I got excited, until the lady just opened a bag of deflated balloons, and asked if I wanted to blow it up. Really? I just tipped you $10...I was hoping you'd blow it up with helium in the back! There's some metered parking in the area, but also free parking that's down the block...down a hill FYI. Mixed feelings if I want to return. It was close, convenient, and although the haircutter did a good job with the haircut, it was annoying she couldn't just listen to me from the beginning. Sigh.

One of my neighbors highly recommended Judy. Came here 30 minutes after it opened on a Saturday…read more There was a customer that was already there when I came and there was a customer when I left. Judy was so nice and understands hair so well. My hair can grow out really long and heavy. She knew exactly how to thin it out and what length fit well with my face and frame. She even gave me layers that will look good when it grows out. She's also a great person to talk to while getting your haircut. There was no sense of any awkwardness during our haircut conversation. She's a kind lady that loves her family. I can't wait until I bring my toddler to come get her haircut with her because I hear she's really patient with younger kids. She goes through a slow learning process to help them feel comfortable. If you haven't been here yet and you've been thinking about it, you should really come.
