How did I ever get so lucky to find Debra and snag her as my florist for my wedding? Where do I even begin to describe the awesomeness that is Debra and D. Sweet Pea Floral? I'm still overwhelmed with gratitude to Debra and her team and all that they did to make my wedding day flowers absolutely perfect. Debra's taste level and creative influence were absolutely perfect and right on par for the earthy, rustic, greenery heaven feel I was going for. I showed her exactly what I was wanting in terms of look and feel, but left the specific flowers up to her judgement, and we agreed she could make decisions based on the market at the time, so she could get the best volume of the biggest and prettiest flowers available when she was ordering for my wedding. The outcome? She nailed it. The flowers were absolute perfection and even prettier than I imagined-- I know that sounds cliche but it is the truth! I planned my wedding from Houston, and Debra and I only met once in person for a walk through at my venue (Vista on Seward Hill) and honestly that was all we needed. Everything else was communicated and taken care of via email which is always my preference. She even let us pay with credit card which is a big bonus (points!) and one less vendor check to have to worry about. I had my set budget and original "wish list" I created and sent out to probably about 20 local Austin florists. I would say about five came back to me saying they could actually do everything on my list and keep within my budget, Debra being one of them. She was so easy to work with, and just the most genuinely sweet person you will ever meet. Having her positive spirit a part of my planning process and my wedding day was just the icing on the cake. I am happy with all of the vendors I choose for my wedding and if I had it to do over, I would likely do everything the same. Debra did such a lovely job on my wedding flowers! She came highly recommended by a good friend who used Debra for her wedding. I hardly know a thing about flowers, so I didn't give her much guidance. I printed out some pictures that I liked online and gave Debra some basic ideas as to what colors I wanted, but I basically told her to just make something pretty that involved purple. She worked her magic and did such a great job. The flowers were a beautiful combination of pink, purple, and white with lots of greenery, perfect for spring time, and I got several compliments about how beautiful the bouquets were. I was very pleasantly surprised that the bouquets had a pastel look--not something I had expected, but I'm glad I gave her free range, because they were stunning. We asked her to put some flowers on every other aisle seat, and I basically gave her free range for that as well. They turned out great! I was worried they wouldn't be very noticeable, but they were nice and bold. We also had two large arrangements on either side of the altar, which were gorgeous. The only thing I wasn't 100% happy about is that the groom's boutonniere was a little scrawny, but the rose boutonnieres for all of the groomsmen and fathers were perfect. She also picked out some great flowers for the cake that matched it beatifully. Debra is so sweet, creative, and easy to work with. Rather than trying to get us to spend more money, she helped us come up with ways to save money, like re-using bridesmaid bouquets for some of the centerpieces. I strongly recommend her! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Debra for my wedding, the flowers turned out very beautiful, excellent pricing and service. We met up at a coffee shop to discuss the flower ideas, she had a ton of flower books to help me decide. She was very pleased to know I wanted mainly white roses and hint of blue in there somehow. She really got to be creative and have a fun time making it. When she arrived on the wedding day she was early like a professional, had beautiful vases for my bouquets and was very helpful. I also had the pleasure of having Debra be my wedding officiator as well. It's such a huge relief and convenience when your wedding officiator is also your florist. She made me tear up when talking and expressing about love and the many different meanings of it. I was horrified when I went to a Bridal event in Austin for wedding only to find out floral design services were charging $5000-$10,000 MINIMUM for their services. I almost cried myself to sleep thinking I was not going to be able to afford the floral pieces I envisioned for my wedding.
