When you walk inside the D1 sports arena your mouth drops. This place is cool. Giant indoor football field, weight training room, suspension trainers and more. State of the art. Yesterday we just had my son's 7th birthday party at D1 Sports. This was the first birthday party this particular location has ever done and I was nervous how it would turn out. I had high hopes and everything turned out awesome!! The two coaches, Roger and Scott, kept our group of 25 seven-year-olds organized and having a blast. They led the boys in a lot of fun games and activities: swinging on ropes, agility ladders, sleds, tackle drills, tug of war, soccer and more. The kids had so much fun!

I've been a member at D1 Dallas for close to 3 years. I'm 57 and quite possibly in the best shape of my life. I've always been fit, but this is different. D1 isn't a traditional gym, it's literally a training facility. Strength and cardio are important aspects of fitness, but they're fairly easy to accomplish on your own. The difference for me is that the coached, group workouts I do at D1 daily, test my agility, balance, speed, explosiveness, power, endurance and recovery. Add the competition of working along side a bunch of fit people half my age, it's the fountain of youth. Oh, and the people are really nice and coaches are great. You should join.

I checked the location & I saw one the Design District location 15 away from . I had never climbed before but saw they had classes like total body fitness & Yoga ‍ all in one gym. I was used to lifting at regular gyms ($11-$29 p/month) or yoga only facilities ($120 p/month) & outdoor activities yet, I didn't care I didn't know how to climb. I cared about the only gym being so close. The 1st day (FREE) was the GRAND OPENING ‍ They had the best party (at a gym) I have gone. First of, Jeremy & Marisa at the front desk were AMAZING helping me to get my climbing shoes. Then I immediately saw they were giving freebies at its max, even FOOD. That won my attention & . Then I attended the workout class with Hayden & I loved how he prepared the class. FYI : I had already fallen in love with the facility with my friend's video But when I walked in the locker room... oh my WOW clean and free towels, sauna, showers, shampo, soap, amazing use your own numbers lockers. I immediately went & pay for the membership, they had an amazing offer ($60 monthly for 3 months) BTW they always have offers thru the year. $60 was TOO MUCH but NOT REALLY. I needed to take advantage of this, I was going Monday-Sunday sometime twice a day I have met so many great and unique people, not only the employees but members who have been even my customers (I cook Vegan Food) Let me tell you about the rest of the trainers who I still see & have made friendships with: I mentioned before : Jeremy, Marisa & Hayden ‍trainers: Anna, Lourdes & later JC (Jean Claude) they are my favorite, they even say they miss me sometimes or they remind me I can lift higher when I make myself lazy ‍ My 2 most favorite are : Gio with foundation class & Ratchet_Rabbit: Austin with his amazing power flow (aaaaau bird noise)‍ & music list but recently met Yogiontherocks: Marcos & the lady (I don't know her name but she is the one who calms me so much I have fallen asleep twice with the sound bath but WAIT...Jacob & Emily at The Hill with the Acro Yoga (so fkng Fun) My Front Desk Loves : Bee Lou (or Lu) , Mahmud, Frank (Francisco who loves my mac not cheese ) & Maelyn have been so welcoming and made me feel like I am part of them. There are 2 people who I haven't seen but Alejandro & Marco. Overall, I have gone to : Plano, Grapevine, The Hill, Design District & San Francisco (CA) under the Golden Gate Thank you for this amazing community which includes everyone doesn't matter who, what, which thing you are or where you come from. Check out their events, they do amazing giveaways and stuf. Tania Cantu aka @plantbasedmexican I love climbing now ‍

REVIEW OF RONIN FITNESS OF RICHARDSON…read more If you're committed to working hard to improve your health, strength, and endurance, Lex Ronin, Ronin Fitness of Richardson, is your trainer! I've been training with Lex Ronin since July/August of 2019 and couldn't be happier with the results achieved. Lex continues to be great to work with, even going virtual during the COVID-19 pandemic shut down of 2020, mixing routines up to stay fresh and interesting while having the maximum benefit toward my fitness goals. I began as a 67-year-old in reasonably good health who, in the previous year, had lost 60 lbs. and needed to firm up. I also wanted to build up (not bulk up) my upper body strength. I would highly recommend Lex. Meet with him. Discuss your goals and his methods. Take a trial workout session. Then make your decision. You won't be disappointed. This is the longest I've continued in ANY formal exercise/training program and plan to continue for the foreseeable future. Mark Lewis 8/21/2024

Not going to lie, the first few sessions kicked my butt and my lactic threshold was definitely pushed but each week got better and better! I have gone to various gyms/classes on and off over the years and done lots of cardio and work on the machines but now I know that what I really needed was a more classic approach to fitness that Lex provided perfectly. I've noticed immediate changes to my body and feel stronger and more confident than I ever have before. I highly recommend working with Lex if you want to make some changes!

Tonight was one of the WORST experiences I've ever had at any planet fitness. I've been coming to this location ever since they opened up as I've always lived in north Dallas off Preston road so it's super convenient. Yesterday I was told no gym bags were allowed on the floor, okay no problem I'll put it in a locker; then again last night as I was leaving the gym, the overnight worker told me no gym bags; I literally was standing in front of the bathroom with my coat on waiting for my friend. Tonight, literally 2 minutes after walking in as I talked to my friend who was in the back of the gym, I got told the same thing, that bags weren't allowed on the gym floor, I started feeling like I was being harassed; I wasn't even on the gym floor. I literally still had my coat on and had JUST walked in. After putting my bag in a locker, 5 minutes later as I'm standing on the treadmill stretching and warming up with a jump rope in my hand, the same worker comes back over to me and says "sorry you can't jump rope in here". I'm like what? I've been coming to this location and every other planet fitness in Dallas since I lived here, when did jumping rope in the gym become a problem?" He goes on to hand me a sheet of paper with the rules on it, then when I told him I've jumped rope in this same gym multiple times, even yesterday right in front of him and nothing was said. He then indicates that the manager was watching me on camera and sent him a picture telling him to come tell me that I can't have my jump rope out. WAIT WHAT?! Out of 50 people in the gym, you mean to tell me another man is watching me directly from his cell phone? Why is the manager of the gym sending you pictures of me from his camera? That instantly made me and my female friend feel super uncomfortable and awkward. The worker (who's name is Anseesu or something long those lines and he says he's the team lead), then went on a spill how he remembered me from yesterday, what time I came and left the gym, what I had on and who I was with along with what I was doing. That also is SUPER WEIRD. I'm 1/60 people in the gym at night, why are you telling me this stuff and paying that close attention. That also made my female friend uncomfortable. We talk it out and eventually he leaves; 10 minutes later, we're on the smith machine working out, he literally kept watching us the entire night through the mirror and even coming around us and staring the whole time, which also made her uncomfortable and now she doesn't want to come back anymore :-( When we finally finish our workout, I go to grab some paper towels to wipe off the machine while she goes to the bathroom to wash her hands. Welp, guess what? There's no paper towels in the weight area to wipe the machine off and then my friend proceeds to tell me the bathroom is also out of paper towels. The overnight shift lead (Aneeesu) literally talked and flirted with the female in the picture for at least 1/2 of our workout. As we were leaving, we chatted in the locker area for about 10 minutes and the ENTIRE time, this couple stood at the front desk waiting on a worker to come help them check in but the worker was too busy flirting with the female in the fitness area to notice. Needless to say I'm VERY disappointed and upset that this happened and the fact that we BOTH no longer feel comfortable coming to a gym that's 5 miles from where we stay is unacceptable.
