I got a free class for my birthday and I took advantage! It was easy to sign up online. My best friend comes here so we decided this would be my birthday event to get to hang out together. From minor one to the end it was constant movement. I do like switching between treadmill and weights. I run a lot, so the treadmill was great and felt so good. The weights part was sssoooo good! I never do weight workouts, and this one got me! It's the best kind of pain! My muscles were sore for the next two days, which is exactly what I want in a workout. I like that the lights are red in the classroom, but I will say the music was deafening loud, I had to cover my ears at one point. Next time I know to just bring my loops. As a first timer, i was super lost and confused most do the class and felt like i was in everyone's way. By the second class, i had a better idea of what was going on and could follow the workout better (which it is a great workout) but it still felt rushed and all of the place and no one is very friendly here. One guy was on his phone texting for the entire class and it was a bit distracting. But the instructors and loud music is cool, and the workout is pretty good. read more

As for the class itself it definitely makes you sweat but was challenging to traverse as a first timer and very easy to get lost in what to do or where to go especially since they don't have time to repeat themselves. Went to Barry's for the first time and I see why everyone loves this place. The staff at the front was really friendly; they made me feel welcomed, and checked me in quickly. I got an amazing workout in. I did the Run X Lift class. I usually don't sweat that much but my instructor, Sydney G, had us WORKING. She was great! The energy and intensity was definitely there with the music and her providing constant instructions. I do have to admit that the way the instructions were presented were hard to follow for a newbie, but for regulars, they seemed to know exactly what to do. Great facility and great instructors. I've taken classes at multiple studios. I stopped in for a morning class on a wintry, ice storm day, as other studios and gyms had closed due to weather. Located in the West Village area. I took a Run x Full body class with lower body focus with Meghan. Meghan has great energy and will challenge you throughout class! Loved her vibes. In general, I absolutely hate treadmill running, so that was the worst parts of class. Compared to other HIIT classes I have taken in Dallas, I felt that this class was very fast-paced. It can be good for those who just want to get a workout in and be out, but I like classes in which I can be present in each movement, focusing on the muscles I am engaging through each movement. It's hard to do in a fast-paced setting, I understand, but that's just my preference. The facility is wonderful - has high-quality skincare and hair products. The showers have good water pressure, and the restroom area has good mirror lighting. The lockers are decently sized as well, for those of us who like to bring a change of clothes. I came in this week. John-Michael was amazing! Such a good coach and full of energy. I like the cardio + weight combo and the red lights.

If you understand how Barrys work it is a great place to workout at. The classes are extremely challenging, you will be sore the next day at first. This is probably one of the most challenging places to exercise. They also keep things basic in the red room. They only equipment you will use are dumbbells , treadmill, step and occasionally use of bands, nothing to fancy! The instructors are extremely motivating which helps make the time go by fast. They are a lot of students in each class so you might not get a lot of personal attention, but I have had instructors discreetly tell me how to correct my form. If it's your first time go with a friend who has been their before or arrive early to let the front desk know. They will explain everything to you. They also have a smoothie bar and a merchandise shop. I have yet to use both amenities. They price is the biggest drawback from Barry's. They do occasionally run specials so keep an eye out for that. read more

I've done a few Barry's classes here and there, and they are always KILLER. Truly, one of the best workout classes in Dallas and I am a workout class connoisseur. The classes incorporate weights as well as sprints so it's the perfect blend for toning and gaining muscle or losing weight depending on your diet and goals. I try to get into Kelly B's classes if possible but have a good experience with every instructor. My main reason for posting the review isn't necessarily the classes, but the Fuel Bar post workout. Umm, if you haven't tried it - do yourself a favor and go get a Barry's N' Brunch (you don't have to be attending a class to grab a quick shake) Skip the smoothie king and come here! Barry's Bootcamp... I. F*CKING. HEART. YOU. I first discovered Barry's Bootcamp while on a work assignment in San Francisco two months ago and since then I have been a regular at multiple studios around the Bay Area. I just recently relocated to Dallas temporarily for work and honestly the only thing that excited me about coming to this city was the fact that they had a Barry's studio. And just to note, it's the only one in the state of Texas.. FOR NOW. This location is probably the biggest I've seen yet. The guys at the front desk were super helpful and happy to answer any questions I had. Just like all the other locations, they have a smoothie bar called the 'Fuel Bar'.. order your drinks before class starts and it'll be ready and waiting for ya when your workout is over. My usual drink here is the 'Muscle Up' ($11)! All their drinks were carefully created to help you lose weight and build lean muscle! There's a small merch area with tees, tanks, hoodies, shorts, pants and leggings. The brands I commonly see are Nike and lululemon and of course they all have the Barry's logo stamped somewhere. I was specifically looking for a 'Dallas' tank top but they didn't have any :( It's all good tho. Lockers are provided and they do have locks built into each cubby. Bring your USB cable! Every cubby has a built-in USB port to charge your electronics. Now let's that about the 'Red Room' which is where all the magic and transformations take place! The ambience is very upbeat and full of high energy! The music is loud and it's a little dark compared to other gyms like OTF but I like it. The entire Red Room is wrapped with mirrors which I love because it helps with making sure you can see your form while lifting and running on the treads. So far I've gotten a chance to take classes with Mercedes and Kelly - - both phenomenal coaches! And I'm sure the rest of the other coaches are just as great! What I love about Barry's is that no matter what location you are at or what trainer you have the quality of the workouts are consistently AMAZING. Let's talk pricing, yes.. ITS EXPENSIVE. More than Orangetheory, more than Equinox, more than Life Time Fitness. I think it's worth the cost but that's just me. The quality of the workouts are just like no other and I'm pretty much guaranteed to walk out DEAD. Soooooo.. after reading this wtf are you waiting for, if you haven't taken a class yet.. I didn't want to try Barry's because I thought I'd get addicted and it's definitely happened since I did! I was really excited when I heard Barrys was coming to Dallas. It's on ClassPass now, so you can book through that app also at limited times and varying credit prices. Friday mornings at 6AM aren't available on there, though, so I book those through Barrys directly. The SMOOTHIE BAR! The price point is ~$9 and up. You can write your order down on their clipboard before class, and it'll be ready for you after you finish. My personal favorite is the Superfood Flex. The person behind the counter let me know it was the smoothie with the most calories, but I was severely unfazed and loved it- highly recommend! Chris W completely makes Barrys everything I seek in a workout - challenging, upbeat playlist, competitive and fun. Over the last few months, I've seen my tread speed increase and willingness to push alongside it. If you aren't ready for an intense workout, I probably wouldn't start with Chris. But if you're ready to push, he's the right instructor to try! The staff at the front desk have been very welcoming every time I've come in and walked out the door. Sometimes the system changes the tread number I pick online vs the one I'm assigned at the desk, but you can change it if it's not taken and you really want a certain Floor or Tread starting spot. The Merch here is always so tempting! Right when you walk in, the Barrys gear is right in front of your face. Amenities- if you're someone that ever forgets hair ties, their back up hair ties save. They also have ear plugs if the music is too loud for you. The showers are super clean- there are four showers at this location which have been plenty every time I've needed to take a shower. They use Oribe products here- you don't need to bring your own. They also have towels and plastic bags to put dirty clothes in. One note is that their blow-dryers are WEAK here. If you need a strong one, you probably need to bring your own. There's also emergency deodorant and a bunch of mirrors so you aren't fighting anyone for space. See you in the red room! read more

Barry's is the hands down best workout and studio in Dallas. It's the most challanging workout especially the tredmills. Chris is one of the hardest and best instructors and a total killer. Arms and legs are dead at the end of his classes. Highly recommend his classes. The facilities are beautifully built out with the best ammenities and nicest shower products of any studio in town. The built in USB ports to the lockers is a nice touch to be able to charge up your phone while in class. Price wise its pretty expensive and very overpriced to be honest, I wish they were on studiohop unlimited. I try to go 2-3x a week and would go more if it wasnt so overpriced but still see great results from 2-3x a week. I do mix in some cardio and HIIT from other studios in town though as well. Post class I grab a pre-ordered shake from the fual bar. Love having it in the studio and ready soon as I'm done with class and don't have to stop anywhere else. Parking is super easy and never have a prob finding a spot in the garage in time for classes. Be warned Barry's classes are super addicting! read more

We were in town visiting for thanksgiving and planned to go here once but ended up coming twice in our visit! This Barry's is huge... seriously the biggest boutique fitness studio I've ever seen. When you walk in there's a huge smoothie bar on the left and merchandise to buy, then you continue down a hallway with small lockers, seating, and foam rollers. The women's and men's locker rooms are at the end. Women's locker room had three showers plus a handicap shower, one bathroom, and huge counter space with about four hairdryers. Complimentary lotion, soap, shower stuff and towels all there. The class was super intense and excellent cardio, we had the instructor Kelly both times and wished we could take he back with us to our home Barry's when we left, he totally kicks butt, paces his classes really well, programs the class so you know where you're going, and really challenges you! Also the person up front helped us find some gear to purchase, so if you don't see what you want just ask! Aka the tank that says "Barry's Dallas" might not be hanging up but they had shirts and tanks in the drawers nearby filled with them! read more

Was enjoying my time at Barry's for the past couple months and was under the assumption you had a grace period to reserve remaining classes under the month within 48 hours of the next and each cycle should be 30 days yet my cycle for feb was 2/2 - 3/2 (29 days) ... and on top of these we lost 2/3 of the month due to an ice storm that cancelled available class days turning a shortened month even shorter. Someone new named James Mai came into town visiting from Houston I guess and spoke with me on the phone making me feel like a stranger to my own gym I've been going to and tried to say I was being stupid and this is not a policy then kept saying it's 30 day periods in the system even though the app doesn't show that. So I basically lost 2 classes totaling about $60 worth. Really made me feel like a piece of shit customer after all these months of paying insane amounts for these workouts .... Even though they preach Barry's is a family. Guess I won't be renewing my membership moving forward. read more

I have been a steady member at the Dallas location since December 2020. I put some of my initial thoughts below: PROS: -Location: I live and work in downtown Dallas so this location is super convenient. There's a big parking garage close by the gym that is free of charge and I've never had problems finding a spot, even during rush hours. -Efficiency: The classes are ~45 mins start to finish, with a 5 minute break between sessions. My SO and I both work long hours and don't have the time or the desire to work out multiple hours per day, so it's nice being able to get in and out of the gym in less than 1 hour. -Workout Methodology: The classes are simple....you do 20 mins HIIT on the treadmill and then HIIT strength/conditions session (usually with dumbbells/ab mats) on the floor. It's effective....I usually burn 700-800 calories per session and nearly always get my HR up to 180. -Covid-19 Measures: Barrys has done a very good job implementing social distancing. The classes are at half capacity and all stations socially distanced. You can take your mask off to work out, but must have it on at all other times. It is strictly enforced, so if you don't wanna wear a mask, they will tell you to comply or leave. Staff members wear masks at all times. I appreciate this greatly. -Instructors: All of the instructors are good and very enthusiastic. They provide encouragement but never single anyone out or criticize. I would say some are "easier" than others but if that's the case you can always add more weight or run faster. Some of them have questionable tastes in music as well, but then again I'm an old man who hasn't really paid attention to new music in over 10 years ;) -Facilities: equipment well maintained, locker rooms clean, all workout equipment is sanitized between classes. I can't complain. CONS: -Pricing: You knew this was coming...Barry's brands itself as a premium gym experience and that's certainly reflective in their pricing structure. I do personally feel that it's bit overvalued, but it hasn't stopped me from going. Bottom line here is....if you can afford it and it gives you the results you want, then it's worth it. -IMO Double Floor stations are a bit too close for comfort given Covid-19 social distancing guidelines. I know they're technically 6 feet apart, but you move around a lot doing a Barry's workout, and I was uncomfortable the one time I chose to do double floor. read more

A great workout. I went to the studio in Long Beach and love the consistency of their workouts even across studios. This is definitely not a beginner workout, I caught to myself having a hard time keeping up and figuring out the next exercise, but that was also partially because of the loud music. This place really gets you in the zone and I love the workout, just be warned you will be sore the next day! This Barry's location is amazing. Classes run about $32 per class, $155 for 5 classes, $300 for 10 classes. They also offer monthly memberships from $300-$400 per month. You can purchase everything online of if you have and iPhone on their app. They release classes a week in advance and you can reserve your spot online. You can choose to start on the treadmill or the floor first, but either way you will get the same workout. I like to start on the treadmill because I like to do that before getting on the mats for weights. You do either 2 or 3 rounds switching back and forth from the treadmill to the mats. At Venice, you can also pick the "DF" mats, which means you will skip the treadmill and do double floor. When you arrive at the studio, you will check in with the front desk. You can also pre-order a smoothie that will be waiting for you after class. My favorite is the Barry's and Brunch (390 calories). The studio is spacious, there is a nice space you can sit at at the smoothie bar with free wifi. They provide towels. Bring your own water or purchase at the studio. When you walk into the "red room," you'll go to your station. Tread and floor will be going at the same time, but the instructors are very good at making sure you know what you're doing. It's roughly a 50 minute workout. It will zoom by, but you will feel amazing after. They will also provide fresh cold towels after class. Lockers are provided. Bathrooms and showers are nice. Tons of amenities - hair ties, gum, ear plugs, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, hair straighteners, towels, etc. read more

One of my favorite Barry's locations period. This location is the biggest of al the ones I have been to in the country. Everything truly is bigger in Texas! Everything from the apparel to the fuel bar to the murals on the wall are amazing and add to the whole place! On top of that, the instructors and employees here are top notch! I have been here many times before my Yelp career so here goes my first review! Upon stepping, you're immediately welcomed and the employees show you your starting position. They have tons of locker space in the lobby and locker rooms, a stark contrast to what I experience in Boston and NYC. they also have super comfy and cushy couches to relax on before class starts. I have now taken classes form all the Dallas instructors, but today was actually my first class with Chris. He was absolutely fantastic and led us through a killer workout. My arms and legs are absolutely shot, especially because I followed up with a soulcycle class across the street afterwards. After the class, I picked up my usual preordered Simply Choc PB shake for some recovery. It was perfectly made and delicious. I visited this class using Class Pass for 18 credits and I must say, it was pretty much worth every single one. I took the Friday night class with Mercedes and it was full. The music was great, the combination of cardio and strength training was perfect. Mercedes is full of energy and personality and she walks around the room to keep everybody motivated and engaged in the workout. BUT... make no mistake, this class is really really tough. Then facility was really clean. The staff was super accommodating. There is fuel bar inside for smoothies and juices, for around $11, and they also have apparel for sale, which appeared to be pretty expensive. I was in Dallas on business and wanted to see how much Barrys had changed from when I would do his classes in WeHo years ago. Some things are to be expected when you become a huge company with many locations: The personal touch is gone. There's a distinct lack of swearing (Barry had a filthy- and funny- mouth). The eye for form is totally out the window (people were flailing around and really not doing the exercises correctly). This was extreme homogenization of the original product and it was a little sad to see. Clean studio. Pretty employees who don't have much training credential. Lovely locker rooms. read more

I frequent Barry's in LA, NY and MIA and was thrilled to see Barry's land in Dallas. The staff here--from the front desk attendants to the trainers to the smoothie bar staff--are super friendly and make an effort to know your name. The space is clean and the locker rooms, like other Barry's locations, are equipped with Oribe products, which is a major plus. But, most importantly, let's get down and dirty and discuss the workout: As with all Barry's, it's a HIIT workout utilizing Woodway Treadmills, free weights, bands and body weight--which is a recipe for success when it comes to getting lean and toned. So, why the 4 stars? I do like all the instructors here (really!) but I'd love to see more difficult runs, more (and faster!) transitions and overall harder routines like some of the trainers in other cities do. With the exception of Nancy, who is a Cali transplant and Barry's alum, all of the instructors are new to Barry's, so perhaps they are all just finding their way. I wanted to know what all the hype was about since this Barry's location is somewhat new to Dallas. I really wanted to like it but it was what I expected it to be...a good workout but more about being seen at Barry's and getting to say "I workout at Barry's." I don't think I have been in a room of people who were more concerned about what they looked while working out then the actual workout itself. I went on a Sunday for the full-body 45-minute workout which was lead by Mercedes. The workout consisted of about a 20 minute treadmill run (you are literally running at full speed. I think you are suppose to be able to get a full 2-miles in the allotted time. The 20-minutes are broken down into 10-minute sessions), then you hit the floor and do some circuit training. You rotate between the treadmill and circuit training every 10-minutes. The room has lighting to "heat" things up, so expect to be drenched in sweat more then usual when you walk out. Mercedes is awesome and full of energy. She works the room like no other and her music selection was always on point. She is the only reason I am giving the rating a 3 out of 5. She really saved the experience from hitting a low. Pros: The facility is nice and clean. There is a smoothly bar which is nice considering not many other studios in Dallas offer this amenity. Mercedes was awesome and friendly. Close to proximity from home. Cons: The pricing is out of this world. This is the most expensive studio class I have ever seen. A single class is $34 and if you are first time visitor, the first class is $24. They are on ClassPass but they are 20 credits (depending on the time slot, the lowest is 12 credits)! I got the first time visitor special which was 3-class for $60, paying $20 per class is the only reason why I purchased the special. The front desk staff have not been as friendly as one might expect given the prices you are paying. I have often times felt like I was inconveniencing them when I asked a question. The smoothie bar is really overpriced, $11 for what you would consider a medium smoothly was nothing to run home and tell your mother about. They have really cool merchandise, but as one would expect...overpriced. I really liked a tank-top but it was $50, I just couldn't justify paying that much for a shirt with no sleeves. read more

I started going to Barry's in London and so when I came back to Dallas, I decided to workout at the Dallas location. It is a great workout, especially the treadmills, and I enjoy challenging myself there. I think the instructors are good - not quite the quality of the London instructors though. The space is a little tight for doing burpees and push ups. I'm 6'2 and find I can't do a push-up in between the floor benches if someone is directly in front of me. Also, I don't really appreciate them making it intentionally hotter than it needs to be. They have fans, but rarely turn them on. I sometimes question how hard I'm working out or if it's just too hot in there. We should be drenched in sweat even in a very cold studio if the workout is hard enough. read more
