    Wing Breakfast
    Nicki N.

This was my second visit to this restaurant and again, I enjoyed the food I ordered. This morning I ordered from the breakfast menu... I got the wing breakfast with grits and eggs and toast... All were pretty good--I think the eggs picked up a little debris from the grill but they were still tasty. Crispy but juicy fried chicken wings and really creamy grits with cheese. The cashier was nice and helpful and there seemed go be a steady flow of customers getting everything from grit bowls to wings and waffles to loaded hash browns. Love that they have so many delicious options. My trip before I had ribs... weren't that memorable but decent. Definitely wanna try a burger with the special sauce which is described as good on whatever... it was pretty tasty with my wings so don't miss it! The building and parking are pretty nondescript--shares a building with a car wash but it's worth the trip for something a bit different and delish. I will definitely be back.

    This Chef Salad Lunch

This Chef Salad was awesome! Everything was fresh. The salad was made to order. Having a salad with everything includes boiled egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, onions, bell peppers, turkey, and ham. If you are in the mood for a salad, try this one, you want be disappointed.

This is a great place to go for a straight forward breakfast sandwich on the go. I recommend calling ahead as they were very busy!

I remember going to Marty's PM all the time when I was in my 20's after a shift. So I was shocked to see the banner one day when I was picking up some Chinese take-away for lunch. First of all let me tell you this is a Safe Space for LGBTQ people. Sarah, Leslie, and Austin are legends. The whole staff is so sweet and the people are really friendly. There's another really cute guy who tends bar and I am so bad with names it kills me. I popped in a few weeks after they opened and I'm now a weekly regular. Best of all, NO ONE UNDER 18 Allowed! So no kids running around. It's a dream come true. The bar has a great selection of canned and bottled beers with a Happy Hour that helps your wallet. A good selection of wine and liquor to. No draft as of yet, but ya don't need it. My Usual order is a IPA and a Shot of Fernet. But I can never leave without a Resting Peach Face Frozen Cocktail or a Bushwhacker. Ask for a Fernet Topper on you're Bushwhacker. I call it the Emmy Jane Special, no one else does XD. Trust me it works. I love the Egg Rolls and The Burgers. The Dutch boy is a fave, but the Big Mick is also delish. They have a lot of weekly events, Karaoke, Trivia, Live Music. Follow their Facebook for their yummy weekly specials. Save me a Seat at the Bar on Thursdays! Tell um Emily sent you for a free absolutely nothing :) .

Overall consistently have been happy with everything I have eaten, but I will say that while still pretty good the burgers are not as good as they were early on. One of the big draws for me has always been the outdoor patio area that is shared with the other businesses that are part of the Trussville Entertainment District (TED). The covering over the area keeps you out of the direct sun but still has a very open air feel. On my most recent visit I got the Feral Smash Burger with Cheddar instead of American Cheese. I ordered the tots for my side because I swore that I had gotten them many times in the past. Looking back at all my photos, clearly I was mistaken. Since I am not a big fan of sweet potato the bartender brought me fries instead to go with my side of Beer Cheese which is well worth the added cost. Depending on when you go, you may have to go inside to order at the bar for the outdoor seating (such as I did today). Other days when the TED is busier and peak times you can order at the outdoor bar. For solo lunch dining I prefer other options in the TED but Ferus is great for groups and outdoor dining. I am sure I will be back especially when my daughter comes to town since she likes to refill her growler with the seasonal sours.

I ordered 10 traditional wings and a side of fried green tomatoes. I requested my wings crispy. They weren't yet again and not only that the wings were absolutely tiny!!! I decided to take him up on it because his talk was convincing. I made a pit stop there driving all the way from Washington, D.C. to Mississippi. Thankfully, it wasn't too far off my route. I thought I was going to walk into a restaurant, but it's actually inside a gas station. So definitely do not expect restaurant ambiance nor vibes. There's nowhere to sit to dine. Strictly carry-out. I ordered the hot lemon pepper wings meal since the staff said it's one of their most popular wings flavor. I must say the wings were not impressive to me. Perhaps I came at a bad night, but it was way too salty for my liking. I knew it would be hot, but it wasn't clearing my sinus type of hot. I know lemon pepper wings will be salty but more tangy due to the lemon flavor. It was so salty, I had to stop eating em. The fries, oddly, were under-seasoned. Thankfully, I had my own salt and added it to my fries so they were saved. The drink I ordered, a lemonade & fruit punch mix, was yummy. Would I go here again? Likely not. The wings were not impressive enough to go all the way to Birmingham. Hopefully, they can improve on the salt balance of the lemon pepper wings.

My friend ordered a sandwich with fried green tomatoes. She thought that the tomatoes were delicious! The batter on the tomatoes was crispy without being soggy. They were seasoned just right, in her opinion. Overall the food was ok. The service was really good. There seems to be a need for a little more training for the wait staff, which happens at most places these days.
