I was so nervous because I've had such bad experiences at other salons (even a big name salon). She was so welcoming and really listened to what I wanted. I did show her some inspo fotos. I felt very comfortable after our consultation. She was very meticulous with her work. She took her time and demonstrated precision and patience (she is a perfectionist). Fast-forward to the end, I was so happy. My hair looked so much healthier and she literally did exactly what I wanted. I have been back since then, and will continue to go back as long as she will keep me as a client. I took my mother-in law to Aisha when she came to visit (she was having issues at other salons as well) and was absolutely amazed. She now gets her hair cut with Aisha when she is visiting from Little Rock. I would love to gate-keep her but it would be so unfair. She's so talented and kind. I heard from many locals that this is the place to get your hair cut done and done right. As an Asian Male, there is truly something unique about our hair. As long as you are flexible with anyone to cut your hair, then you can be seen ASAP. I always call beforehand and I always get to be seen same day within the next 2 hours. I only had two people cut my hair here, Michelle and Ken???? Ken is a new guy with dyed hair and speaks limited English. Michelle has been doing this for a while. I loved their old location but this new location definitely helps their salon shine. Lots of natural lighting and room for them to really allow an open space concept with seating throughout for others to see the magic happens. For the price of $28 before tip for a male's haircut, I think it is a fair price to ask in this economy and prime location. Hairwashing and shampoo is included for before and after the cut. Also if you want them to style your hair and prepare it for the day then that is also included with gel/wax/hair spray (your choice). Use cash if you can to avoid the 3% credit charge fee. I come here, get an amazing shampoo/head massage experience to start, then a cut, followed by a blow dry and hair straightened! And it's reasonably priced! Way less than the other salons I've gone to where i paid $75+ and walked out the salon with my hair still wet because it was extra $$ for a blow dry. But expect to have your haircut decided for you not with you. I have shoulder length hair I was trying to grow back out. I said I wanted to keep length but clearly needed some help with dimension and layers from a early pandemic self-cut. Leah had already decided what she was doing. The wash was fine, but then she used a towel to tightly pull my hair against my scalp (a major curl no no). The initial layering would have been fine, but then without checking with me, she started twisting large sections of my hair and razoring them!! I was horrified. I knew she went too high and I would end up with awkward short pieces around my scalp and that not paying attention to my curl pattern meant I would end up with ringlets that look like they've been hacked. She then diffused while tightly scrunching my top curls and shaking out the rest. I wear my hair in it's natural tight ringlets, not tousled out, so this didn't provide a realistic assessment of the cut. After washing it at home and letting it curl naturally, I've had to trim quite a few legging ringlets and have found I have a some wierd short curls around the top layer that I'm not loving.
