My wife chose a salad with some grilled shrimp And my buddies wife decided to have a plate of muscles that she enjoyed immensely. The staff was fantastic in that they took away dirty plates and replaced them with new ones and made sure that the kids had everything that they needed for us to enjoy a quiet and adult conversational meal. Compared to Long Island, NY the prices were really very fair and the quality of the food was very very good. My scallops were excellent and the other plates that I tried all were cooked perfectly. It was flavorful, comforting, and a perfect vehicle in which to dip their crusty Italian bread. Now the real improvement came from my selected entree. While the Asian Shrimp Salad that I had ordered previously was just mediocre, the Seared Tuna Salad that I got this time was delicious! The plate included mixed greens, sliced avocado, julienne cucumbers, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and sesame-crusted, sushi-grade tuna, which I ordered seared to a medium rare. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. Cups of wasabi and Asian dressing were served on the side and further infused a tangy heat to the dish. It was colorful, textural, and simply delicious. It was a real winner! Manera's Restaurant provided yet another enjoyable meal with dedicated service in a classy, yet casual, atmosphere.

This was my first visit to daddy o, and I am definitely going back! My table ordered a few different things. Started out with the corn soup and my mom had the lobster bisque. I'm not a huge fan of lobster, but I absolutely loved the bisque. The corn soup was sweet and different than any kind of corn soup I've ever had, probably a new favorite. YUM! we also had the beet salad which had a warm encrusted goat cheese that tied all the flavors together. Our experience only got better from there after we got our entrees. We ordered the tilapia and mahi mahi. My mom couldn't get enough of her mahi mahi and loved the bean ragout that it was served with. I LOVE tilapia and it was nice to see it came with quinoa, a nice combo of two of my favorite foods and it had a cherry sauce (?) drizzled around it that brought a little sweetness to it. Finally, dessert. My mom ordered a classic fave- creme brûlée. And I had the raspberry bread pudding.. I made sure to leave room for that. Yelp is pulling reviews....NOT COOL. I visited Daddy O last week. I was with a harsh food critic who could find fault with almost any restaurant if given the chance. The menu is quite different from past years and it's an extremely positive thing. I started with the kale salad....never tasted a better salad in my life. Had the Lobster appetizer and it was great. My "food critic" friend was silent so I asked her "so what's the verdict?". She said she wanted to reserve judgement until after the entrees were served. I could see on her face she was impressed. I had the grouper entree which was fantastic. She had the seafood stew.....and that settled it. She said it was the best meal she's ever had and could not find any fault. I laughed hard because this was a first. Service was first class too.....our server's name was Courtney and she was delightful and friendly. (Let us talk but was right there when we needed something which adds to the experience) If you visit LBI and don't try Daddy O then you're missing a great experience. read more

My husband & I decided to head on over to LBI on Memorial Day. We were hungry and decided to stop in at Daddy O. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was very hip. It had a real nice vibe. We both ordered the lobster bisque. It was delicious. The best we ever had. We shared a beet salad that was also delicious. We both ordered ribeye steaks. I like mine well done and it was cooked to my liking. My husband ordered his medium well and it was cooked to his liking. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely return during the summer. They exhibit a complete lack of accountability for their shortcomings and fail to recognize their responsibilities. I strongly advise against hosting any events at this venue. My wife and I went to Daddy O's last weekend and we had an amazing time! I had the special, which was a bone-in Tomahawk steak and it was to die for! The restaurant staff was also great - the General Manager (Andrew), Manager (Janelle), and our waitress (Courtney) were very professional we could tell they both really cared about our experience. I love it so much that I won't be shocked if it's a problem by the time I get to my own "60th" birthday. Never in my life did I expect the jump scare of a salad so salty it made me nearly choke. My mother got the shredded cabbage salad. All of us had a bite. It was like mainlining Morton right from the blue container--a rush of adrenaline, a shock to the system. A stomach ache. My mother sent it back. I tried to enjoy my Caesar salad and my sister-in-law tried to enjoy her green salad, knowing hypertension is a slightly better fate than being branded a 30-something New Jersey Karen during peak vacation season. But it was so bad that surely it had to be mistake and they didn't know! It wasn't like this other times we were here. We should do the kind thing to tell them. So we made the mistake of telling the manager. And this is the reason I'm coming out of Yelp retirement to write this review. The manager alleged we were LYING, saying it was "quite odd" all three of us wanted to return our uneaten salads--send in Sherlock Holmes! We've got a mystery on our hands. They didn't eat their dinner because it made them feel sick. When I asked if she seriously just accused us of lying, she walked back and said "well, the chef said this is not a mistake. This is exactly how it should taste. And maybe every restaurant is not for every person." Quite honestly, I have never been to a restaurant before where I couldn't eat my meal--and then was scolded about it! I can't even recall a time I have sent food back. And after reading the reviews, it's confirmed I'm not alone. I will say, they did take the salads off the bill, and the server (not the manager) was lovely. I gave it one star because--in between contemplating a $45 kids meal--there was enough salt in the food to make my one year old nephew finally speak. Guess what he asked for? "Water"

A painkiller will never hurt you lol and everything is always so fresh. Try getting one of their specials usually some type of grilled fish sandwich. You can't beat the atmosphere the vibe, the food and the drinks and the price is reasonable. Don't let anybody talk you out of coming here come here for a midday bite and a drink. You won't regret it. Also always has music always a vibe.

The old bay fries and the other hand were very good if you'd like old bay there was a ton of old day on them. I would try some other stuff here again, but not the lobster roll at $30 an order It should have been much better. The layout of the space is pretty good indoor and outdoor seating convenient pick up water counter and the service was very nice.
