The service at the bar was great. Drinks reasonably priced. Karaoke needs to be better. I put myself on the list at 8:15pm. I didn't get up to sing until 10:30. The DJ would announce the next singer ( there is a list of singers that scrolls at the bottom of the karaoke screen), while waiting for the singer to come up on stage, a "fun" or dancing song would be played. Instead of just playing a few measures of the song, the DJ would play 75% of the song. Also, there must have been some kind of party going on there. Instead of mixing in new singers with people who have already sung, ( by the time I got up there everyone in that party had sung at least 5 times) the DJ let the party keep coming back on stage. At 9 when they switched DJ's is when this all happened regarding the party in question and the 75% playing of the song. read more

The service was great. Had absolutely no problem with the bar tender, bar keep, or the DJ. Drinks are yummy and affordable. The restrooms are very small and not the best looking but you can get your business done and get out. It's a small bar, but a lot of people go and they absolutely LOVE doing karaoke. It can take a while because there are so many people in the rotation. If you love singing and watching others sing karaoke this is the bar for you. I took away a star for the balding guy who asked for my ID and didn't like that it was a month expired and asked my friend if he had a knife/box cutters. Very strange. Maybe some issue has happened here that I'm unaware of. But seemed as if he was profiling since my friend is Hispanic and trying to prove something. We've never been treated this way before. What sucks about this place is that karaoke hasn't started yet, night is slow and already there's 20 people in line for the karaoke. They do have HH specials til 8 during the week. Drink prices are standard. In between songs, the DJ, on Friday, was playing pretty good songs in between sets. Customers are just as bad as the customer service.. you will not get a drink unless you are a local to the bar

I never leave reviews, but this is probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a bar. As soon as we arrived, the bar back was rude and dismissive. I signed my mom up for karaoke as she's visiting from out of town and wanted a good Karaoke bar. They skipped her 4 times. At one point, she was up next and suddenly her name disappeared and an employee went to sing instead when she as already on stage. When I brought it up to karaoke guy, he argued with us and called it a "glitch". We ordered from the specials too and got charged 12.50 for two beers. I wanted to show my mom a good time for visiting from out of town and it was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a bar. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try dad's bar after I had a great experience my initial time visiting. The bar was packed on a Saturday night, and the ambiance was great. However, Zack the karaoke host was completely mismanaging the singing queue and allowing people to buy their way into earlier spots - one guy sang 3 times before our friend were able to sing even once. Not a professional way to manage a busy night at a crowded karaoke bar.... One of the people we were with that evening got on stage, on the mic and stated that it wasn't fair that people were cutting in line multiple times. The karaoke host Zach cut off his mic before and after his song to try and stop him from speaking out. While we were Closing out our tab, the karaoke host came from his booth to the bar and Got into a loud altercation With my friend and called him an a-hole. Overall, it wasn't a whole waste of an evening but it was definitely not the greatest of experiences. Would not recommend. read more

This is a mixed review. We have been here multiple times and we have enjoyed ourselves! This last visit....freaking watch your credit card!!! The bartender LOST our credit card and argued that we had it. We needed to check our wallets. They even called in security because my husband was "being to forward". The shit ass bartenders, yes 3 bartenders "misplaced" our credit card. The DJs were awesome the bar back was phenomenal but the evening bartenders were SHIT! Although my silly self does not partake in Karaoke, I love going and watching the good performers. This place has a pretty good setup. Instead of having the person running the karaoke being right on center stage, they are in a DJ booth away from the stage and behind the audience's back. You don't even realize they are there. They chime in every once in a while, to call up the next singer and also offer a little DJ banter, but they are not overwhelmingly annoying or right up in your face like some karaoke places. The sound system was decent too. The music ranges from country to modern pop, and some early 90s's stuff like Weezer. Parking is a real bear around here because of the popular restaurant next door and of course because of the popular Dad's Karaoke. The lots fill up EARLY, but you can park on the street. I got there at 7:30pm and the parking lots and most of the street parking was full and they were towing people from neighboring lots. Be very careful of which lots you park in because they WILL tow you - even though the businesses are closed at night. The friendly staff at Dad's Karaoke will gladly point you toward the safe places to park though. Just ask someone and they will even walk outside with you and tell you where is safe and where is not. 3 bartenders for 75-100 customers: The bartenders can't keep track of who walked up to the bar first, so you might wait forever to get drinks while some might walk right up and get a drink. My biggest peeve this night was that one of the bar tenders was on her phone for literally 5 minutes while lots of people were waiting for drinks. She finally put her phone away and took the order from the guy to my right (who had just walked up - I had been standing there for a few minutes) but before she brought him his drinks, she took a minute to make herself a drink. That's real class after making us wait for several minutes. Reserved tables: It seemed as if most of the tables were reserved that night, but the patrons didn't show up until much later. So you might want to look into reserving a table if you have your crew with you. I'm not sure if you have to pay to do that or not though. It is a fun place, but the parking, poor bartender service and all the empty reserved tables are a real turn off. I won't recommend this place to anyone but if my lousy friends try and drag me out to this place again, I just might have to go with them. But only because my friends are the bestEST and the mostEST funnEST! =) read more

This was my regular place for karaoke when I lived here several years ago....BUT... now everything is horrible... the tables, chairs, bar top walls are filthy...don't get started on the putred condition of the restrooms...they stink and look like they only throw a bucket of water on the floor once a month....AND you have to bribe the DJs to get in and STAY in the rotation....if you complain about it, you will get thrown out... where do they get these amatuer scumbuckets? read more

This place even though has a great vibe and is very well ventilated and great aura overall I thought it was definetly not my cup of tea. If you are not a very strong singer you will probably feel a bit intimidated since this is one of those very American bars where you will be main entertainer singing your heart put on a stage for all strangers to see. Don't get me wrong as I am sure a lot of people love these kind of karaoke pressure but not i... I will only make the people I love suffer from my amazingly terrible and not tuned voice that God gave me. The bar choices are not impressive either. Very basic and speed rack style. Very little top shelf choices here. If you want to come by and just check it out I would say that you won't have a bad time, but I also would say that you could find something else to do with your time. read more

Fun little karaoke dive bar. I would say one of the best karaoke spots in SA. Drinks are a little over priced in my opinion. I payed $5 for a well drink during Happy Hour. Call me cheap but I'm used to $2/$3 for wells during HH. The wait time to order can also be a bit excessive. It can get a bit crowded. Last night there was a bit of wait in rotation to sing. About an hour actually. But the place and people singing are very entertaining so time just flies by. Overall Dads is a fun, chill spot to hear some good karaoke. read more

The manager was eager to kick us out of there, asked us for ID which I showed her my wife age 40 didn't have her ID on her but I did have her passport copy and she wasn't drinking as a designated driver. manager decided that she didn't want us in the bar and asked us to leave. I am so tired of bad service. We just went in to sing a little karaoke and maybe have a drink or two my wife was not even drinking anyways I don't think I'm ever set foot inside there again. Manager was of the lowest quality service I have ever seen. I'm sick of people treating people badly just because it feeds her ego. I read several reviews with similar stories. The manager seems to be racist and gets a kick about turning people away in some sort of power trip. I Will make every effort to contact the owner as she needs to be exposed for her rude attitude. I almost never do reviews, but when I'm do it's because of some definitely strong reasons. I'm a mom so I can barely go out, it was pretty disappointed my experience here. If you wanna sing, definitely don't come to this place. You just gonna waste your time, money, energy and you will get out of there mad and sad like me because imagine how many people are not able to go and sing like they should when they come to this place! That's ridiculous and not cool at all. I just had to do this review. I was really excited about doing karaoke and I arrived there around 12pm. So I got on the list to sing right? The place was not that crowded so I thought... the wait list it's not gonna be that bad. I was wrong 11 people In front of me, around 40 min wait. I was like ok no problem, with 2 songs that I sing I will be happy. I started notice how my place was like at place 8th for a good while, then how the dj would skip the upcoming person, so I was like ok that's weird, and then I notice some people that already sang were singing again and again. It was like 1:40 already, I was trying to enjoy the moment though. When the person singing before me was about to sing the dj said: thank you for joining us this is our last singer of The night, and I was like what? obviously the guy was friends with the dj and when he finished singing it was 1:59am and the dj said good bye again but gave people 10 min to finish their drinks... I was like, why not let people who didn't sing, sing? It just didn't make sense everything that was happening. I should be able to give zero starts, it's just not fair to be wasting your time and money on a place that is supposed to be to sing but you just can't sing... I'm definitely gonna look for another place for karaoke and not recommend this to all my friends and people I know. read more
