I was excited to try Dad's Kitchen. I came. I ate. Ill never go back. We waited 10 minutes for someone to seat us. No one else there, plenty of room. Then, got an $3.50 ice tea with no ice and no sweetener or silverware on table. Breakfast camec30 minutes later, Cold! Biscuits were ok but tasted like they were from the day before, hard. The hollandaise was cold, broken and thick. I asked for more but they were out. Potatoes were soft and cold. Driest breakfast I have ever eaten. Thank god for ketchup and hot sauce. Wait staff was scarce and didnt care. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

We thought we tried this place out since it's been featured on Guy's Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. We had the Dad's burger cooked medium with a blue cheese and habanero sauce over French fries and the open-face meatloaf sandwich. My burger was pretty tasty, but the issue was the habanero sauce. I'll correct that and call it habanero-flavored oil drizzled over my deep-fried French fries. Although the spice level was spot on and complemented the blue cheese, the fact that it was an oil-based "sauce" confuses me. The service was poor here. The majority of the consumers and staff were white and I was among a handful of People of Color. I'm not sure if this played a role, but it sure felt that way. We were a table of three including my son. The table next to us was a table of five with two kids (a white family). The waiter checked in with them twice before we were even asked how we were doing. It wasn't until we were almost done with our meal when our water cups were refilled. If it wasn't for the tasty burger, I wouldn't return to this place. read more

Sorry Dad's, but I have to reduce my rating because of poor service time and time again. I enjoy some of the their signature dishes, although they are not consistent and made differently each time :( I live around the corner and have been several times and along with visiting family a couple times, but unfortunately I will not be coming back because the service has gotten really lazy, including the new manager and the last straw was a very rude bartender without warrant which makes the whole experience uncomfortable and just not worth it. I've never had a bad meal at Dads. The service is usually pretty good as well (if there was anything that could use any improvement, it's the service but they do a fine job). I've been here at least 3 times prior (should have logged this review long ago) and had tasty meals each time. This time, I went with the Cowboy Burger but had them remove the bacon and add jalapenos. DELIGHTFUL. I was hoping they'd do half onion rings/half fries but they would not. I went with the rings. Apparently I hadn't had their onion rings before, because when they came out I was over the moon. HUGE rings. Not many of them, but they're so worth it. They drizzle dark vinaigrette and parmesan on them. THIS is how to win me over, people. I'd ordered my burger medium. It came out exactly as I expected. burger temp and color is a huge selling point for me and they did not fail. Dad's beer selection is usually pretty great, with a variety of beer types (and of course, a fair selection of IPAs...I can't wait for the IPA fad to end). I had the Evil Cousin (always good) and their amber beer (which I of course can't recall the name of at this time). Everyone at the table got what they ordered in a timely manner and each order was accurate. We were checked on at all the appropriate intervals and the place was decorated in a very fun and lively fashion. Went for brunch around noon today and the service was terrible. To start, we walked up to the hostess for a table for 2 and received a wait time of 20 minutes. Totally fine. After putting our names on the list, we went to the bar for a drink and bartender was great. Got out drinks and waited to get sat. About 15 minutes later, the hostess came up to us and asked us if we were table for 2 for a completely different name. We said no and then waited another 5-10 minutes. We were sat outside and waited another 10 minutes to be greeted until someone came up to us with a plate of food and asked if it was ours. I replied "no we have not even been greeted yet" & the server did not say anything and he left. We waited another 10 minutes and then left the restaurant and told the server we're leaving due to not being greeted by anyone. I will not be coming back here. read more

The onion rings and the batter on the fish had absolutely no flavor, it was like the batter was not seasoned at all. Very disappointing. I thought the habanero fries would be something similar to what you find at other restaurants and have a blue cheese dressing with habanero chili oil (or something similar to Jack's Urban fries), nope! Soggy drizzle of way too much balsamic made them sweeeeeeet. My order was 2 eggs over medium, bacon, and toast. Each was served on a small plate. Any reason why they could not have been combined on one large plate, making serving AND eating much easier? NO offer to refill my coffee, and we were there for a couple of hours. I got there philly steak sandwich; ummm.. No... dont get it. the roll was like wonder bread soft and squishy. the taste of the meat was good. I had a salad with it which was better then the sandwich and we also got the Vegetarian sandwich which was Hugh and look good. honestly the food is just ok. your riding more on the fact that Guy Fieri was there. not quite worth $75.00 for three people. Service which is the main thing for me was sorta lacking. when the wait person was there it was fab. but we waited 20 minutes after eating trying to flag someone down just so we could pay and they were not that busy. they were chitchatting among themselves manly. Kinda disappointed. There was a 20 minute wait on a Saturday at noon. The restaurant was obviously understaffed. They needed a hostess and another waiter at the very least. Finally got sat and the menu is a limited brunch menu. It was 12:30 and I couldn't order a salad until after 2 when brunch was over! We ordered tater tots. They were large balls of breaded and fried mashed potatoes. Too big and mushy to be called a crispy tater tot. Server was forgetful and aloof, but very nice and smiley. Food was ok after that. Been in twice to this location and didn't deliver an experience worth revisiting. The staff took their sweet time with everything from the very beginning. The food wasn't worth the wait or price. My Philly cheese steak sammie was so soggy from grease I decided to never again order one, Fries were under cooked and soggy too. I really enjoy this restaurant they had delicious choices for vegetarians we had the meatless sandwich and mothers omelette. coffee was pretty good although I do suggest they get some almond milk or soy for vegans and lactose intolerance. The meatloaf sandwich had great flavor but needed more bbq sauce. The taco salad had a hefty portion of carnitas but needed more tomato. Paid extra to add avocado. 1st time visiting for brunch since we usually come for lunch/dinner. The food tasted great and the portions were very big. We were definitely bummed to find out we couldn't order anything off the regular menu since the website said brunch was until 1pm. When we asked the waitress she said you couldn't order until after 2pm. The server seemed stretched thin as well as distracted. Unfortunately we had to ask several times for various things (napkins, sugar, etc.) because she kept forgetting them. It was not busy in the restaurant so its not like that was an issue. We tried the pork belly benedicts, the chicken fried steak, the California omelet, and the breakfast pizza. The omelet was filling but could have used some seasoning on the eggs. The biscuit was ddlicious and so was the jam! The pizza was tasty and had a ton of toppings. We also participated in the red basket challenge which was putting our cell phones for the duration of the meal and getting a fresh baked cookie for free.the cookie was amazing! read more

Dad's been like a Dad to me since he moved into the neighborhood. He always has the right atmosphere when I want to just go somewhere and relax. The bar area is the best. There's been a shift in controlling ownership with this location and I have to say- it's so noticeable and SO APPRECIATED. The menu standards are perfect and they always have really appealing specials. I always have a hard time choosing! We went there for breakfast. The service was good but the food took forever to come out and when it did i was very disappointed. I order the standard breakfast with eggs over medium, ham and hash browns. The eggs were great but the ham was very thin and dry. Nothing is more stomach turning than finding an artery in you sliced meat. I expected the hash browns to be shredded potatoes but the two I got looked like McDonald's hash browns and they were so greasy I couldn't eat them. Sad to say McDonald's has them beat on their hash browns. The only saving grace to the meal was the biscuit and preserves. Skip the breakfast and go for the lunches or just skip Dads all together. read more

This location sucks compared to the Curtis park one up the street from my house. Serious thumbs down some friends and I decided to try it out for a calm night and we will never go back to this one. We sat and waited for the server who finally noticed we were sitting. She had no personality and was not good at her job at all. At least at our location the servers seem to know what they're doing and are attentive. I can't quit remember her name my brother said it was something like Yinsy or Yassey. I thought she was rude and acted like she didn't want to be at work. I don't think getting a beer in a reasonable time is too much to ask for or to have a server who doesn't have an attitude. Our food was good as always, but the fries were cold. This location is much bigger then the other. It has great potential hopefully they can get with the program. read more

Unfortunately food was awful. Good atmosphere, good for kids. $36 for an overcooked omelet that had avocados so ripe I could break the pieces like a twig. A soggy French toast and a kids chicken strip. Had to wait over an hour for our party to get our food. Two other plates in the party had to be sent back and no one took leftovers. Was excellent last year. Sad to see they went downhill. No compensation for the problem dishes. We won't be back. read more

Last time I came in here I got The hazy IPA and artichoke dip. The dip was amazing and beer really good. Only complaint I'd have is that you could definitely taste the oil in the chips, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Overall though there's a great small town atmosphere that doesn't compromise the quality of food and service. Definitely recommend as a great lunch spot! read more

They've also upped their cocktail game, weekly specials and more drink options than years ago, and more attention paid to the quality and ingredients of the drinks. Employees and management are awesome! Great place to hang out, eat and drink. 4 stars because the bar area is too small and gets full, and I hate sitting in the dining area, but mostly because (IMO) the food is overpriced from what you'll find most other places. I don't know what happened. We used to love this place. Went for Cinco de Mayo. No drink specials, no food specials. And the margarita I got tasted like a $3 watered down Las Vegas margarita. Since it was my first time at this location , I was clueless on where to enter . In case you're wondering , you go through the gate that leads to the patio and make a quick left . Easy peasy ! Upon entering , one of the guys who happened to work here was coming back inside from a smoke break and told us to sit anywhere we'd like . I ordered a turkey burger and normally you'd think of turkey as being super dry but this burger was pretty juicy and that basil spread that's in it gave the burger a fresh taste . Yum! Our server was Jocelyn and she was very attentive and quick ! My only complaint ? The fries were soggy unlike the fries at the land park location which are always super crispy and delicious . Had the worst experience ever at this place!! The food took 45 minutes and it came out cold. We were told they ran out of hash browns and what they did serve us had obviously been sitting around under a heat lamp. When we talked to the manager he took my plate and didn't offer anything else on the menu. The biscuits were hard and none of the food was impressive between the 4 plates we ordered and I had to find a server to refill my coffee! Just overall bad service!! Yes it's been on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, and yes this place gives you a phenomenal and unique selection of beer coupled with a very generous sized burger. Once you get here, I hope you appreciate beer because there are a slew of gems. All types and brewery locations, and you can even get the 8 and 9% alcohol beers in pint glasses......sold right there alone. The fries are crisp the way you want, not to mention one can specialize it with bleu cheese, habanero oil, meat, chili.....you name it on top. Quite delish. The Dad's Burger is a man among boys.....impressive patty size with a party of accouterments alongside. It's quite the fiesta in your mouth given the house made spread, pieces of bacon, and bleu cheese all hanging out with that 8oz beef patty. It's a flavor explosion and you will not leave hungry. We visited Dad's Kitchen for lunch on Saturday with very high expectations for great food and a fun atmosphere. I was also still happy to see that Maranello's had kicked the bucket at this location, so I had high hopes across the board that great new restaurant would have a very positive impact to the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the best laid plans sometimes don't work out very well..... Food: Dad's Burger was good, not great. I liked the Bacon & Blue Cheese intermingled with the Hamburger, but the bun was flavorless and fell apart very easily. The Regular Fries were fair, but I was pushed hard to "upgrade" to something fancier by the waitress Nicole. Too bad patrons aren't offered other choices that don't cost extra. My wife had the Taco Salad and said it was good but needed more than meat and lettuce. Drinks: I had the Deschutes Black Butte Porter. Excellent! One of the best beers around. Service: Nicole, our waitress was distracted, disinterested and didn't check to see if we were enjoying our meal. We asked the person that dropped off our food if we could have a little more Ranch dressing for the salad as the containers provided with the salad were very small. After we received our bill, we found out that they charged us $0.50 for the very small extra dollop of Ranch. While this is a very small amount of money, why nickel and dime your patrons??? I'd expect doing the little things to retain customers will bring in more money in the long run. Hint, hint!!We also had someone who appears to be in management carrying around his coffee mug sitting down chatting with some customers he seemed to know. He came off aloof and disinterested in the general welfare of the other customers. Atmosphere: I liked the old style metal signs and the music was very good. I found the seating was very cramp and the spacing seemed unnecessarily close to other people seating next to you Rating; I started with 1 Star and increased it to 2 Stars as my expectations might have been too high. I won't be back for a while....not necessary for you to rush to go visit either. Maybe Dad should go ask Mom for pointers on how to better treat his customers...just a thought. read more
