    California Benedict
    Amy C.

We really enjoyed Mario's Early Toast! Came as a recommendation from our friend who is from the area and it did not disappoint. I started with the mimosa flight - they had so many flavors to choose from so that was amazing! Really reasonably priced too. For my meal I got the California Benedict - can't go wrong there! We split the Maui pancake with the table and it was delicious!!! Our server was nice and the place was lively - very busy. I would recommend if you are looking for a tasty brunch spot in the area.

    Plastic!!

This review reflects my experience at this location. The staff were courteous and kind, but the food took a long time to arrive and had no flavor whatsoever. I ordered the veggie omelette, which was packed with giant chunks of raw, crunchy zucchini. The zucchini released so much water that the omelette was soggy and unpleasant. My mother didn't enjoy her meal either. The one star is entirely due to what happened next. While eating, I suddenly bit down on something tough and unfamiliar. I almost swallowed it--thank goodness I didn't. When I pulled it out of my mouth, I was horrified to find a long piece of plastic embedded in the omelette. I was genuinely shaken thinking about what could have happened if I had swallowed that sharp, slim piece of plastic. That is not a minor mistake; that is a serious food safety failure. If a restaurant cannot grasp that incidents like this directly endanger people's health, then I cannot return--no matter how kind the staff may be. And considering the food was mediocre to begin with, I'm staying far away from Mario's Early Toast. "Early toast" should never come with the risk of a trip to the ER with an "Early Grave"!!!

WISH I COULD FLY chicken sandwich Needs a regular plate, hard to eat lol.

I ate here a few weeks back with my mother and my sister. My mother loved her clam chowder. They gave her the big bowl. She didn't know they offer two sizes. It would've been nice if she was told beforehand, but I think she ate the entire bowl so no worries there. My sister and I got the chicken "Wish I could Fly" sandwich and had a salad for the side. The sandwich was tasty. Major gripe, and I hate when restaurants do this (even food critics have slammed this practice), please offer a normal sized plate. Next time I will ask, but it's really annoying having a small tray and it's super hard to eat when you've got a small tray. It just doesn't work lol. They. have a patio overlooking the parking lot. There is a lot of traffic noise, but at least you don't have the music blaring like they do inside. The chairs are pretty comfortable as well.

Love the healthy options and he gluten free waffle was HUGE! Ordered the turkey scramble-good, clean, had spinach, zucchini and mushrooms and egg whites. But needed some salt and spices to liven it up. Cholula didn't quite help for me. Gluten free waffle was hefty. Some crunch to it. I shared it with my 1 year old. My husband had eggs and potatoes and regular pancakes. He should've got the gf waffle as his side and we all could have shared. It was so much food! I had an iced decaf latte with almond milk and hazelnut that was perfect. Not too sweet. The bathroom was very clean. Patio is awesome if it's not too hot out! Service was very prompt and friendly!

Great service!Nice to sit outside. Generous portions! My mom had big bowl of clam chowder,my sister & I had chicken sandwiches swapped out fries for side salads. Very tasty! FYI sandwiches served in smallish tray, you can always ask for plate.

I came here with my friend .She really likes the hash browns because they make them very crispy, I tried them, and they were pretty good.. The eggs Benedict where okay . The service was good. We had a kind of server. And the place is cute. Overall good spot for brunch

Crab Benedict and Truckee French Toast
    Ashley C.

Really solid brunch spot in the Folsom area! I'm surprised I haven't been here sooner. Despite being pretty busy for a Monday morning, they got our table seated right away. They had cute little kids menus folded up with crayon packs which was a huge plus. They had a pretty good kids meal selection too, and my son enjoyed the Mickey Mouse pancakes! Our server was awesome, I wish I caught his name! Really polite and friendly, and happy to accommodate any requests we had. I really enjoyed my crab cake benedict. The crab cake was moist and still crispy on the exterior, good amount of hollandaise, and a properly poached egg. I appreciated the fact that they offered different options for sides, like roasted potatoes, hash browns, or rice. The hash browns were a nice pairing with the hollandaise from my eggs benedict! I also wanted to try the Truckee French toast which seemed to be a favorite on the menu description. The exterior was nice and crisp but otherwise nothing too unique in flavor - just a nicely made French toast. The half order was perfect for our table to share. I would probably go for 4.5 stars but the matcha latte was just not happening for me. The color immediately gave away the quality and lack of matcha used in the drink! But it was nice of the server to adjust the vanilla sweetener for us when we ordered, otherwise I'd probably just stay away from the matcha drinks here! Overall besides the drink I had a good experience here! Will definitely add it to the rotation for brunch spots in the area.

Stopped in at Mario's Early Toast with the family after a suggestion, from a friend who lives in the Folsom area. We had been looking for a good breakfast spot im the area and had come across Mario's first, and the recommendation sealed the decision. After arriving we immediately noticed the Hoildy decord and Santa statue at the front entrance. After being quicklu greeted we were promptly escorted to the upper level dinning area, where there was a bar. But it was a little cold up there, so after sitting for a couple of minutes, we asked to be seated downstairs to which our waitress happily obliged. Once downstairs we took a little more time to look through the large options on the menu, and ended up deciding on the following items: Drinks: Hot chocolate Main courses: The Perfect Combo (x2) Protein waffles Belgium waffle with bananas & pecans Acai bowl Battered French toast with Nutella The meals with surprisingly large, which is not a bad thing at all; we all were definitely pleasantly surprised. The only mis which was due to not really understanding what the dish was, was on thr Battered French Toast with Nutells that my son ordered. He was under the impression that it was standard French Toast with Nutells, and not a heavily deep fried dessert type of dish. Because on top of it being deep fried, and being collered in Nutella, it's all a big dish of 4 very large deep fried pieces, and is also served with whipped cream. We however did look at the dishes description and then realized it does say the French Toast is "battered" so we watered realized it obviously deep fried. When we mentioned our confusion on the dish, our waitress did reiterate that it is a large dish, and that she almost mentioned that it's typically a dish recommended for multiple people, and not one person. Ultimately due to how that particular dish is more of a dessert and not a breakfast, and how heavily fried and full of sugar. And the fact he'd already had a hot chocolate before any of our dishes arrived. My son just couldn't finish it and maybe ate one full piece of French Toast and took the rest home. Overall: Great spot, good service and good food.

    Cappuccino kind of morning
    Bryan R.

First thing we noticed was the menu is great a lot of healthier options to choose from for a Sunday breakfast. The cappuccino's were fluffy and hot and that was nice. However, some of my food landed and it was cold over all the service was working hard and our food did come out fast. We love this location, it's close to home, but it's a little pricey. We paid $85 for two breakfast plates and two cappuccinos.

Hot matcha latte & Crab Benedict
    Cindy C.

Came here for breakfast on a Monday morning and the first thing I noticed was how bright and inviting the space felt. It's really nice inside, and the staff were warm and welcoming right when we walked in. I ordered a hot matcha latte with two pumps of vanilla. The flavor was just okay... not bad, but not what I was expecting. The matcha color wasn't very vibrant, which kind of threw me off that it wouldn't be very strong or fresh tasting, and that ended up being the case. For food, I ordered the crab Benedict, which wasn't the best. The crispy potatoes were definitely the highlight. Super tasty, but I wish the plate had more potatoes and fewer bell peppers and veggies. The crab cakes themselves were just alright and didn't really stand out, and my egg was slightly overcooked, though the hollandaise sauce helped add some creaminess. We also shared the French toast, which was very sweet and actually really good. Service was fine overall; our server was polite and professional, but once the food came out, he only checked on us once. It wasn't a bad experience, but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, especially with so many better breakfast spots around.

Primavera Crepe (bottom), Mexican Skillet (top right), Strawberry French Toast (top left)
    Anusha S.

Found Mario's Early Toast on Yelp when looking for brunch spots in Folsom. We came around 9am and were seated immediately. The menu is extensive and there is a good amount of vegetarian options. I got the Primavera Crepe with potatoes and then my friends got the Strawberry French Toast and the skillet. Primavera Crepe (3.5/5): Crepe was cooked well but it was a bit small. Flavors were solid, though it could have been more flavorful with more sauce and seasoning. Would have liked crunchier potatoes Friends said the Mexican Skillet was good but could have used more seasoning. The Strawberry French Toast was pretty big in terms of portion size and friend liked it, but she said it could have had more strawberries. We left around 10:30am and it started getting busy around then so I recommend coming earlier! While the savory dishes could have used more seasoning, the service was good and staff checked in to make sure everything was okay. I would consider coming back to try a sweet entree instead

    Perfect Americano.
    Debra S.

We were in Folsom and decided to look for a brunch stop and Yelp took us to Mario's Early Toast. Everyone who works there was very friendly and helpful, and they all look like they like working there. We ordered Americanos while we waited for our food -- perfect. We both ordered the Perfecto omelette, and, when I asked for server Alejandro's recommendation regarding the potatoes, he suggested the house potatoes "crispy." And, omg, that's exactly how you want them. Delicious. The omelette was also great, and the sourdough toast was just right. The portions are very generous. Lots of interesting things to look at in this comfortable restaurant. We plan to return soon.

I was actually pretty impressed with this place. We live so close and passed by many times and finally decided to try it out. Staff is friendly the place is cute. I loved the fried steak it was delicious I forgot what my gf got some sort of scramble but it was also delicious the portions are generous! Mine came with a biscuit and it was so good warm and soft I would go back just for the biscuit lol I even had my first espresso martini and it was so good! The French toast was a perfect amount of crisp and soft and never got soggy it was so good! I definitely would dine here again I took one star off because we were sat in a booth (which was fine) however all the blinds were closed and except for the window by us so all the flies inside were attracted to that one window so we were constantly fighting flies. I know there isn't much to do about flies but it was the most annoying part of this dining experience Other than that would totally eat here again!

Music wasn't too loud, Tables were relatively clean for a Thursday afternoon and Service was very good. I noticed the guys working on the food after we order, I had no idea it was made it order. That's absolutely amazing. It takes a few minutes, however the food is soooo worth it. The buns are Martins Potato Buns and of course, being Martins they're super tasty! A lot of High end chains use Martins so naturally, I was happy to see the brand. (These buns stay together but when sauced they like to slide and that's how I could tell it was Martins! After our food, we were able to get lids and to-go boxes just by asking the gentleman working there. I think his name was Andrew if I remember correctly. There's a small crew working here that is very nice and hard working. I've never once seen any big issues here and the food is pretty consistent. There are some small changes here and there, but the food overall is very good compared to other restaurants. This place isn't even a chain and it's super tasty. I wish they were closer to where I live because I would end up eating here 2-3 days a week. It sucks my daughter can't have this food otherwise I'm sure she'd love this one too. She has a peanut allergy, and they do use peanut oil as I asked the last time I came here. (do your due diligence and make sure you ask about allergens if you are allergic to peanuts) They do in fact, use Peanut oil. If you want some good food, This is a place to try. I've been here a couple of times already. Don't expect this place to be your typical fast food. They're not your average fast food because if anything, it is fast casual. Service is very well. I can't imagine Andrew having a single bad bone in his body. If you want cheap frozen ready to go food, this is not the place. If you want something made to order, then this is your jam. Only thing I can mention: Soda selection is smaller than usually used to when I eat outside of home. Honorary Mention: Service is killer dude's an Angel. (Stubborn Brand Root Beer), Martins Potato Buns, Crispy Steakhouse Fries and Suuuuuper Tasty Mac & Cheese. The next time I stop by, I will try their Sweets and Update my Review. They remind me of the Boardwalk, growing up. Fries are thick cut and very fresh. Hot to touch lets you know they were made once ordered. We would definitely come here again. Might bring my own peppers and ask for white American next time . The lady taking orders might be the owner. Very friendly.
