Everything is perfect! Service and taste are both top! Light music with great ambiance! Will try to come everyday!

Ok when you think of pub food, you don't really think of good quality fresh food. LET ME TELL YOU. This place is not that! It was too good! I had the best bbq burger IN MY LIFE. We also ordered the garlic fries and they were 10/10. The garlic wasn't over zealous and they fries themselves were crunchy. While they had your typical pizza and burgers on the menu, I was surprised to see they also offered sushi. We had the pepperfin sashimi and we liked it! The sauce was nice and tart. The queen tangerine is my new fave beer, give it a try! All the servers were very attentive, we were asked by 4 different people if we had been helped yet, we ordered with one person, and closed out with another. I'll be back!

Sushi here is a solid 5/10 (granted it is a bar), but overall everything was cool. Comfortable, quick service, good drinks, nice atmosphere. I'd visit again. I heard the fries and burgers are pretty good.

Went here with my friends on a Monday night, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly. Fair Oaks Brew Pub in Old Fair Oaks Village is an absolute gem. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The orange tangerine beer was bright and refreshing, a perfect pairing, and the warm buttery pretzel with the various dipping sauces was pure comfort food done right. Add in the relaxed, welcoming vibe of Old Fair Oaks Village and friendly service, and this place is a must-visit whether you're local or just passing through. Im so lucky I live within walking distance of this brewery, will definitely be back

Our book club met here last night! What a great spot. Owner was amazing! Food was delicious! Sushi, pizza, edamame, cocktails, pulled pork sandwich! All wonderful. Great vibe. Friendly staff. All of them were very attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Potstickers and pizza were very good and so was sitting out on the lovely patio with my friend from high school

Stopped by with my high school friend for a great experience! We sat out back on the lovely patio and ordered the recommended pizza and appetizers. They have nonalcoholic beer which tasted great also. Highly recommend and I will be back when in the area! *Apologies to the owner, who let me know I reviewed the wrong business, which alerted me to put this one here now.

    100% Angus beef Big Burger

Amazing burger - juicy and flavorful 100% certified Angus beef! Fries were also delish! Very friendly atmosphere and the service was fantastic! They have a full bar with a great selection of beer and wine. Indoor seating is great and they have an awesome patio. I highly recommend this place!

Our first visit we got the belching beaver peanut butter stout and the rooster red! Both so yummy

I was afraid to try it and I know why now. Besides great service from a waitress who was not assigned to us but helped out nothing else shined. Thank you to the girl who brought us sauces and the spice. Edamame- so sweet it tastes like bbq sauce and teriyaki. None of us liked it. Used to have yeah chopped garlic and seasoning. Pepperfin- cute presentation but what in the hell in the over daikon! It took over half the place and fish was dry. I asked waiter can we have a bit more sauce for the pepperin? He said oh you mean ponzu? Sure whatever it's served with bro. Shogun roll- hella rice and skimpy on tuna on top. Only roll edible Fair Oaks- mushyyyyyyyyyyy just no Miso- tofu water Beer- we have at every restaurant been able to order a tall beer with extra glass our waiter said no that's two beers. Sad to see this place forget about the food. Jimmy worked so hard.

I would have never thought a Japanese restaurant was here. The inside was another story! The inside is decorated with all kinds of Japanese pictures and decor. You definitely felt like you were in a Japanese restaurant. The menu was impressive! Everything had pictures which is so amazing! It was just easier having an idea of what to pick based on looking at the pictures. There were all kinds of sushi rolls, bento boxes, noodles, appetizers and plates. We decided to get the ramen, salmon katsu, and tempura bowl. Food came our really quick. Portions were good and everything we tasted wonderful. It definitely satisfied our craving. The tempura was crispy. The ramen broth was rich and noodles nice and chewy. The bento box came with gyoza, salad, tempura, oranges, miso soup and rice. Service was great. They were attentive, and friendly. Eating with our littles ones is never easy and we appreciated how patient they were with us. We loved the food and hope to come back and try their sushi next!

This is exactly what I had experienced when I paid a visit to "Akira Sushi" Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, this place opened its doors for business back in mid-2024. Since then, they have seen a very respectable amount of positive reviews. As I had previously mentioned, the exterior isn't much to look at as this is a fairly dated strip mall that hasn't received any updates in decades. And to those that remember, this is the same building that "Pho 54" occupied from 2013-2023. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 8/3/2025 at around 5:15pm, I parked directly outside as there were no other cars here. Upon entry, there was one other customer finishing dinner. After being greeted and seated, I was given a menu complete with a cold glass of iced water. I will say that the interior of this place is quite impressive, cozy, and inviting. The distressed wooden tables paired up with the tan-colored walls and unique murals add an upscale look to the overall interior. On a packed evening, this place can comfortably seat around 50 guests. I will say that their menu is fully loaded with pure deliciousness. They offer a huge variety of traditional sushi rolls, custom rolls, Bento boxes, seafood tacos (available in tuna or salmon), Poke bowls, and even ramen for the colder days/evenings. And even a nice variety of beverages including soda, beer, wine, and sake. Since I was dining solo, I decided on the "Sunomomo Salad" which was a cucumber salad w/Ponzu sauce and Bonito flakes. My main dish was their "Napa Valley" roll which uses shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. My salad was brought out in less than 3 minutes while my sushi arrived just a few minutes later. I will say that everything was very fresh and delicious. The avocado had perfect consistency while the shrimp was made to perfection. In my humble opinion, this was an absolute gem of a roll. All in all, "Akira Sushi" is about as good as it gets for quality sushi in Citrus Heights. They have very respectable hours of operation being open 6 days a week; Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm / 4:00-8:30pm with extended hours on Fri/Sat while being closed for business on Monday. Service was great as the young lady that waited on me was polite, courteous, and respectful. With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I am giving Akira Sushi a unanimous five-star rating.

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. It was a nice shaded corner and it gave some privacy from the plants that were decorated along the entry way. The menu was small and interesting. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. The ribs-10/10 fall off the bone seasoned well with some kind of green sauce at the bottom. The garlic shrimp- 10/10 in chili garlic oil with focaccia bread. Watermelon tomato salad- 10/10 feta cheese always takes the show! Beef sliders- 10/10 us just being greedy but so good. French fries- 9/10 decent portion! Blackened salmon- 8/10 compared to how flavorful the appetizer's were it made the salmon lack in taste. Something was missing but it was still good loved the coconut milk flavor in the jasmine rice! All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Between the awkward service and 1.5+ hour wait for food, this celebration didn't go the way we'd hoped. We had a 6:30 reservation for a party of 7 to celebrate my engagement with family visiting from out of town. We placed our order right away but didn't receive our food until after 8pm. To make matters worse, one plate was missing entirely, and that guest had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to arrive. The server was apologetic about the wait and offered to comp our desserts as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. When the final plate arrived, we were quietly discussing the $3 avocado upcharge among ourselves, since the tacos came with barely a sliver of avocado. The server apparently overheard us, because she returned moments later, silently set down a small plate with extra avocado next to our food, and walked away without a word. The gesture felt pointed rather than helpful, and it left the table feeling uneasy. The food and drinks themselves were decent. But by 8:45, we didn't want to wait even longer for the comped desserts, so I asked if we could have our drinks comped instead, since a couple of the cocktails were priced similarly to the desserts (which ran up to $16). The server seemed uncomfortable and said she could only comp two desserts, offering 10% off the bill instead. This wasn't what had been discussed earlier, but at that point we just wanted to wrap up the night, especially since my parents had a long drive ahead. Given the service, we'd quietly decided as a table not to leave an additional tip, only to find a 20% automatic service charge already added for large parties. This came as a surprise since it wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. It's a shame, because it's genuinely a charming space. Unfortunately, the service that night fell short, and it really affected what should have been a special evening.

The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. It's also loud and couldn't hold a conversation so I wouldn't come here for a date night. We were told sushi rolls were a 30 minute wait but it didn't take that long. Sushi rolls were yummy as usual!
