Stopped by for breakfast with my bestie and her new boyfriend a couple of weekends ago. They have really transformed this space from Waffle Experience to a Mimosa House- mimosa house has a "look". Outside my friend said, "this doesn't look like a mimosa house" but once inside she said "yes this is definitely mimosa house !" The service was quick and we were seated and served promptly. First time here. Walked in, not sure where I ran into the nice hostes, and she guided me back to the small hostel stand. I asked for a back corner seat where she took me with menue items.3 minutes go by and she brought water to my table. Off David went to place the order. Coffee came back immediately, and coffee was very good and hot! About 17 minutes later, the food arrived. The food presentation was very appealing. Pancake was large and delicious and probably should put two of the syrup containers with the pancakes. Eggs were cooked as I requested. Home style Potatoes were very good. However, the bacon looked and tasted as if it's been sitting in a warmer all morning. Should have taken it out the warmer and put on the flat top to try to get some sense of crisp instead of the Soggy texture. Good bacon to serve such a waste. I ask for an original mimosa. Mimosa came right away. Mimosa was PERFECT. MImosa here is not in a Champagne Flute, but in a Wine Glass filled to the top You only need one!! Very chilled and can actually taste the even balance of Champagne and Orange Juice!!. The check arrived, which came to $42.56 plus $10 tip. I enjoyed the food but the reason why I gave this establishment only three stars is it took 35 minutes for us to get our food. The server consistently came around and apologized but it took a long time for us to receive our order. Hands down the best breakfast place in Folsom. The vegan skillet is fresh, flavorful and grand. Easily enough for two meals. The breakfast sandwich is incredible, too. We've eaten hear several times and tried several different dishes and I can't think of a time we've ever been disappointed. Unfortunately our prior visit here seems to have been a fluke because we went back this morning and had to leave without eating after we waited 30 minutes for COLD food that we had to ask for when others who came in later all got served before us. This was my second time trying Mimosa House and I must say the menu is a little overwhelming due to its size, but I do like that they have tons of drink and food options so there's something for everyone. I think everything I've tried here so far is good but nothing to rave about. Standard and you can definitely make the same at home. I didn't quite bother to take home my leftovers after we wrapped up our brunch so I'd say stick to the drinks as they are the star of the show here. I'd visit again to try more menu items but I don't think it's a place I'd have a regular order at. The staff is polite and they have a host up front that greets you as you walk in. Our server was attentive and pre-bussed the table as she came by which was nice. Not overbearing and kept things swift which I personally like. The place itself is big but can get packed when it's busy. The booths are not very private and you can see about everything the tables around you are doing. They have a bar area that you can sit at, tall round tables for bigger parties, and the other half of the restaurant has small booths and smaller tables. They also have an outside patio for seating! I'm not blaming the employees. But management should consider changing online hours to closing at 2pm. It's such a great name. It makes you want to go there for brunch. Their menu is extensive and there are a lot of interesting dishes I wish to try. As my visits are usually after the gym nearby, I was looking for something healthy. I have not yet partaken of their mimosa offerings. They look tasty though! I have had a chicken apple scramble and crispy hash browns and a water. My total without tip was $16.97. I have sat at the bar both times and Taylor has been very sweet and attentive each time. Simply delicious food with a huge variety on the menu. It was tough to choose my dish, but I ended up selecting the Crab Benny with house potatoes and I was very satisfied. The portions are very generous and you really get a bang for your buck. The eggs were poached to perfection and the crab cakes underneath were so savory. I love the grilled onion in the potatoes.
