    Mixed, I added extra sauce~

Do NOT sleep on this place! They have been AROUND for a while. Trusty go-to spot for a bite of authentic Korean foods. Great for beginners new to the cuisine and foodies around the world. Today I slipped the kimbap and opted for the spicy chewy cold noodles with veggies. It absolutely hit the spot for a summer cool dish. You can modify the spiciness and the lady in front is very perceptive on spicy level for you. Bonus: they give you cups for water Excellent service, and the white noise of the cafeteria serves a great atmosphere. It helps that a bakery is right there!

This restaurant is located in the food court of HMART. The food is surprisingly good. It is consistently busy here but the ladies that run this place have everything under control. They will remember your order without a name or number. This is a great place for a quick bite of authentic Korean food.

Our go-to, quick, authentic & consistent Korean food spot. Things you should know: I. LOCATION Within the HMart food court, closest to the exit. II. QUALITY Consistently good III. SERVICE Quick. No complaints IV. CAPACITY Sometimes there's a line but it moves rather quick

    kal guk su with dumplings

this restaurant is in the Food Court, H Mart. I was invited to a couple weeks ago and was not too thrilled that my friends were going to a food court for dinner. I was wrong and I've been back twice since. I don't know what I got. It was pretty good going to look up the name. Kal Guk Su soup with noodles and not at all spicy. The guy next to me got a spicy soup he right now is soaked head to toe and sweat. glad I didn't get spicy. she did tell me when I ordered it said it's going to be 15 minutes to make. I took that is at least it's fresh.

I usually visit the food court first when I'm starving. By this time, I'm dizzy and delirious and just want food. I can always trust that the #13 tofu soup will be consistently good. It is served with rice and a tiny portion of banchan. During my starvation daze, I usually order or share another dish. #17 is another favorite. It doesn't fill me up completely by itself so having more food is always planned. If on the rare chance, they run out of #17 then try the #22 (less but bigger dumplings). I ask for it be steamed instead of fried as advertised. There's a water dispenser. You'll have to ask for a cup.

I'm almost tempted to give 5 stars to a food court restaurant, but, man, am I glad we discovered this place, since our last food court experience off of H Mart was just 'meh'. Over the years, even before our visits off the cruise in March to 3 different places in South Korea, we've grown to love Korean cuisine, not the least because we usually get quite a bit more veggies in our diet compared to fast food or other Asian cuisines. This time around we were well rewarded as well trying Dae Jang Gum (which I believe translates into "The long sigh" or "The long 'hmmm'"). My wife ordered the shrimp fried rice while I went with a minced beef thing, the name of which I forgot; both came with a soup (Asian borscht? :-D) two banchans and the main dish - both were nicely done. Now I was a little surprised that my beef thing was accompanied by veggies that were cold-served, but I was OK with it once I was over the 'surprise'. You might want to check before you order, since you can't always tell from the photos displayed. Ditto, spiciness - since Koreans like their heat, many dishes have an element of it, but it's not often the burn-your-esophagus type of heat, at least not by my standard. Those 2 lunches were $9 and $8 respectively, quite economical for what's close to a full meal deal, wouldn't you say?

    Bibimbap to go
    Joseph R.

Came here as a quickie to go before work...had a bibimbap. Was good but wasn't a filling portion, well worth the 7.99$ and was served within 5 minutes so credit to the servers. Only negatives were that the rice was very crunchy, almost thin and the side of kimchi (Napa cabbage) wasn't flavorful. The radish kimchi was excellent however, rich with flavor and crisp. Will try something else again but you can't beat the price.

I can never resist a venture into Super H Mart's food court; After a brief internal debate I decided on Dae Jang Gum. It was the only concession I hadn't eaten at yet plus bibimbap always hits the spot. The bibimbap came out fairly quickly as the food court wasn't too busy, I was pleasantly surprised by how much more food came out with it! There was a tofu soup, rice, and a small selection of various sides including kimchi and pickled vegtables. All for $7.99 (plus tax)! The bibimbap was solid, a very large serving, I wish there was a bit more meat; their bibimbap is primarily veggies - but they have the sauce down! I've had bibimbap better elsewhere, but for the price, this was a great deal!

There is some space inside to dine in or study, as well as outdoor seating. It has a quirky and eccentric vibe. The service was friendly and quick... food came out super fast! We got the Coconut Ube Latte, KFC Sando, and Hashbrown. I took a bite of the KFC Sando and was blown away at how good it tasted. The chicken was fried to perfection and very meaty. I enjoyed the pickles, which tasted a bit like cucumber kimchi. The spicy mayo was also tasty. Toward the end of my meal, the chicken started tasting a bit too much like meat and it was a bit off putting, but other than that it was still a delicious sandwich. The hashbrown was nothing special. The Coconut Ube Latte was beautifully presented, but it tasted a bit heavy. I think there was too much milk and it ended up tasting like chocolate milk with no hint of ube. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would come back to try other items on the menu. I also want to try their alcohol!

It seems like maybe the ownership changed b/c the same Korean servers I used to see are not there anymore. When we went, all the servers were non-Asian - very nice though. HAEMUL JJAMPONG KALGUKSU - $16 Noodles were good (not handmade), broth was ok, and seafood comprised squid, mussels (no shell), clams, and 2 shrimp. Other dishes - tried my friends' Chicken Tenders which I found on the bland side. They also got the bulgogi and spicy pork bowls for $13 each - which was just meat, rice, and salad. Service was amazing! At first it took a second for someone to get our order, but after that everything was smooth. Workers were very friendly, attentive, and engaging. We ordered the Yangnyeom Galbi and the Beef Brisket. Both meats were incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. Our server cooked for us the entire dinner and watched the grill the entire time - very attentive! He would also check with us if the meat was cooked to how we wanted. The sauces pair great with the meats. I'm Korean so I really like the sesame oil salt with the brisket. What surprised me was their Chimichurri sauce! Was not expecting it at all but it was incredibly flavorful and surprisingly paired well with the galbi. The chimichurri was my boyfriend's favorite sauce. I think the galbi was extremely tender, however did wish it had just a bit more of the marinade flavor. We are curious to try the LA Galbi next time. Now for the side dishes. I wish the broccoli had some more salt, but everything was fresh. I enjoyed the kimchi since it didn't have any anchovy flavor, but there are some people like the more fishy flavor. Salad was refreshing. The soybean soup had the perfect amount of spice & the vegetables inside were generous chunks which I enjoy. Rice was also fluffy - not too wet & not too dry. The corn cheese was fine and so were the bean sprouts. I will say that the egg had a fishy flavor to it, could be fish sauce ? but we weren't a fan of the egg. I love that this is an authentic Korean bbq place because they give you Sujeonggwa as a dessert after your meal! My boyfriend loved it because he's Hispanic and it reminds him of horchata since it has cinnamon. Haven't had it in so long, was a pleasant surprise Overall I think we had a great experience. I used to come here when I was a lot younger but it's my second time back as an adult. Nostalgic and tasty , we will be back to try the la galbi
