We came too Jimmy's for a friend's birthday, we arrived at 2:00 on Sunday. The waitress Rociocame to the table and brought drinks and disappeared for 35 minutes, we asked another server what happened to Rocio. She came back took our orders and disappeared again. Tables surroundings ours were serviced and they got their food, but she stood across the restaurant looking at us never coming back for refills or to check on the table. Finally at 3:40 no refills or Rocia coming back to the table our party got up and left. After talking to the manager she gave excuses for her, we still had to pay $44 for horrible service. It's crazy all the Hispanics were served and not the blacks. People came in after us were serviced. Very disappointed the first time was great but this young lady clearly didn't want to serve us. read more

Delicious food I went with my bro and a friend on 2/11/2024. First time visiting and I will definitely return. I didn't eat lunch at work so I got several entrees. I got a 10 pc lemon pepper Wings with blue cheese and some potatoe skins also Taco Tuesday so I tried the fried fish Taco and 2 grilled shrimp tacos. Excellent price per tacos. I was also given the chips and salsa which is delicious. The place is real cool outside and inside. Jimmy's is just that... That Place!!! I'm Impressed! The quality of food in a place so big, and so busy was superb!!! I wasn't expecting that! I went here for specifically for 2 things on their menu, the Tableside Guacamole and the Oysters in the half shell. Figuring that if they weren't good, then Jimmy's Tequila & Carnes would at least have some great Tequila lol. Well The authenticity of the guacamole and freshness of both was unbelievable!!! I was in heavenly food bliss!!! It was like a scene in the movies where all of the background noise stops and you have that moment all by yourself even tho you're surrounded by people! Man was it good! Then I had the Jimmy's Chicken Salad and I'm like check check check check because Jimmy's was checking off all the boxes tonight for my favorite foods. I love a salad with fruit plus well seasoned chicken! This place is awesome!! Service was great! There was definitely a lot going on here. It was loud. There was music playing, maybe a dj? Then a group or band, might have been mariachi that came out. Plus this place was packed full of people. It was a lot and it was very loud. Guess that's what the Tequila is for! Jimmy's is really working overtime to become my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I've been here three times and the food, vibes, and atmosphere have always been bomb. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located right off the highway in Doraville on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. They have a huge open parking lot so there is plenty of open space. Reservations, Venue and Atmosphere Now each time I have gone to Jimmy's it has been on whim so we've never made a reservation so I am not entirely sure if they take them or not, but they can definitely get crowded so it might be good to call ahead on a weekend. The venue is huge, when you walk in the bar is raised a little in front of you. The hostess stand is to the left. They have table booth and hightop seating all around, and I believe there's even a club and dance floor over towards the back by the restrooms. The atmosphere is casual. Each time that we've gone there have been families, couples on dates, and just friends hanging out enjoying themselves. We ended up going on a Tuesday (that was not planned lol) and they had karaoke, which is always a fun time. I have to have a certain level of inebriation in order to get on the mic, and I did not get there this night lol. Food and drinks The drinks here have always been a win. I got the Bonita Blue in a large size and it tastes as heavenly as it looks in the picture. It's their house margarita plus blue curaçao and peach schnapps. My partner got the ultimate watermelon margarita, which only comes in large size. For appetizers we started with the ceviche with shrimp, which was amazing. We got the smaller size and it was still a nice sized portion that my partner and I were able to share. It was served with tostadas. My partner also got the guac, and it was a HUGE serving. She mostly liked it, but she said a little more lime juice. For entrees I got the burrito banderita with steak, which was stuffed with steak fajita mix and topped with ranchero, green, and cheese sauces and served with rice and beans. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The one critique I would have is that there could have been more sauce on top of the burrito. I'm a sauce girl, so I actually ended ordering a small queso for pour over my burrito. The beans were probably some of the best I've had at any Mexican restaurant and the rice was also really good. My partner got the pollo asado, which is a platter of two grilled chicken breasts with rice and beans, a smoked sausage link, and grilled vegetables. The chicken was juicy and tender and seasoned well, the sausage was smoked perfectly, and the veggies were also great. Service Our server was Agosto, and he was great. He checked on us regularly and made sure that everything came out in a timely manner and that we had all that we needed. Definitely ask for him when you go :-) Verdict Jimmy's is definitely a gem and I can definitely see myself being a regular here, If you're in Doraville stop on by. Location and Parking They are located on a side street in Norcross, with plenty of free parking. Venue and Atmosphere We came on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. The restaurant is huge and was crowded, but nowhere near full. They have pool tables and flat screen TV's going along with the laid back atmosphere. Food and Beverages They have ceviche, which is one of my favorite foods. Their version can be shrimp or octopus, and I opted for shrimp. It was savory with the perfect amount of tartness. She brought us chips and salsa and I asked for a hotter salsa so she brought me out the habanero salsa it was good so if you'd like hot stuff get that because it was good. I immediately ordered the Mojito because I was looking to drink it was hump day lol. It was made perfectly just the right amount of everything to get you where you want to be. I also got a shot of Mezcal. It seemed like a double shot so it was definitely worth it. For our entrée, I asked or convinced my friend to split the fajitas and I'm glad she agreed because that was definitely enough and more for two people we had grilled steak, grilled chicken, grilled sausage, shrimp, corn, and grilled jalapeños. That flavor was amazing! Exactly what I wanted so delicious. In fact, I want to see if there an Uber eats for lunch today. It came with a side of rice and beans and the other sides for fajitas. Everything was actually soo delicious. We got the corn and flour tortillas, everything went together so well. The frozen drinks had a chemical taste- dont recommend their mixed drinks as they are mixes. I'd stick to a bottled beer and some fajitas. The chips and salsa are great (but who is going to complain about free chips and salsa)? It seemed like a high energy place, great vibe, lots of staff, and very trained on upselling. I think Jimmy's officially my husbands and I favorite restaurant. No kidding lol. My regular thing to order when I come here is the ribeye. It is just that good. Really big portions and cooked to perfection. The ribeye is usually served with rice, beans, corn, chorizo, and a salad, in a bed of sautéed veggies. It's delicious. I didn't even pay attention to the breakfast foods at all! We were the first to arrive and got first dibs on everything. There's a little old lady that makes hand made tortillas on-site! They have a wide variety of items on the buffet and still serve their regular menu. Brunch starts at 11am, but it fills up by noon. Margaritas everywhere!
