Okay, how cute is this cafe?! I definitely need to come back and work from here -- it's the definition of cozy coffee shop vibes. I ordered the banana bread iced latte from their seasonal drink menu (it doesn't show up on their website, but you can see it when you go to place an order), and my MIL tried the gingerbread latte. The banana bread latte was a miss for me -- it didn't really taste like banana and mostly just came across as a vanilla latte. My MIL, on the other hand, really loved her gingerbread latte and said she'd order it again. They also have a pretty extensive food menu, so I'd love to come back and try that next time. I also loved browsing the curated trinkets they sell in the cafe-- super cute and fun to look at.

Open, spacious, clean, trendy. Friendly service, delicious scone. Generous portion of fruit bowl, breakfast sandwich. Coffee drinks are divine.

Breakfast sandwich, salad...I don't remember what kind it was.

A nice little place in the middle of office buildings. Food was tasty and simple. I had a salad dish worth added chicken while my friend had a breakfast sandwich. I have to say that the sandwich looked a lot better. But I did enjoy my salad dish. Need to come back to try other things.

Daffodil Cafe is located on the ground level adjacent to one of the office buildings of the La Jolla Commons complex. They validate parking for one hour in a visitor's space inside the nearby deck. After that, the rate was $1.75 for every 15 minutes or part of. The inside was spacious with several tables for seating along with a large sofa and lounge chairs in the middle. Two large menu screens, one for breakfast and one for lunch, hung on the wall to the right when you entered the suite. I visited in the early afternoon while there was one party seated playing a card game. The lunch menu featured three salads, five sandwiches/wraps, three bowls, and six sides. I picked a Chicken Tikka Masala Frankie as a bowl. The item was the kitchen's twist to a classic Indian cuisine staple. Stewed chicken was cooked with Indian spices and served with white basmati rice, tomato, red onion, cucumber, and green chili yogurt sauce. The mixture was not spicy, yet it was pretty flavorful. A couple of pieces of naan would have been a nice enhancement. There was a free WiFi signal so I spent time catching up on my laptop before I realized that the extra parking time would not be covered by the validation. Those who work in the surrounding offices now have a new option within walking distance for dining. I enjoyed my lunch at Daffodil Cafe to give it a four star rating.

10 out of 10. Food was high quality, tasty, fresh, and served quick. I had the Bacon Burrito and it exceeded my expectations. The Cappuccino was as good as a high end coffee shop, and the blueberry scone tasted like my grandma's. I don't even live in California but if I'm ever in the area I'll come back. Lovely staff too :).

Such a hidden cute little oasis of joy, cozyness and great food too! I went there as I was at a doctor appointment nearby and wanted to try something new. Then I was surprised that was inside a complex of mostly financial buildings (but they validate one hour parking). I parked on the street because I didn't know that I also wanted to see the sculptures in campus. I like the touch of green in this café. Warm greeting from the lady who speaks Spanish, very beautiful and welcoming and she suggested I try the salmon toast that was awesome and satisfying. Capuccino was also perfectly done. Very clean and spacious yet very cozy.

My friend and I stumbled upon this cafe tucked away inside a local business park, and wow, what a score. This is seriously a hidden gem that deserves all the hype. We had to try both breakfast and lunch. The Classic Breakfast Croissant Sandwich was perfectly done--flaky, buttery, and a great, satisfying start to the day. Next up was the Smashed Burger. Topped with crispy bacon, melted Hatch cheddar, perfectly caramelized onions, and a vibrant herbed aioli, it was seriously incredible. I just kept saying "wow just wow" after every bite. But the true champion was THE TURKEY SANDWICH. Served on soft ciabatta with provolone and fresh mixed greens, the secret is the house-made bacon jam. That jam takes the whole thing over the top--it was absolutely to die for. The best part? The ciabatta was so soft and fresh, it did not cut the top of my mouth. That small detail shows serious attention to quality. Everything was fresh, high-quality, and delicious. Will definitely be back! Go check it out!

such a cute little cafe hidden and tucked in a business area. it's very bright, colorful, clean, and nicely decorated inside. i got the lox toast and it was decently good. it's a simple breakfast item but did it's job with the basics and flavor. they have both breakfast and lunch options and it all seems pretty decent. staff is also super conversational, helpful, and friendly!

Stumbled across this place tucked away into corporate buildings. So glad I found it though. Everything was so delicious and the service was so great! Staff is very friendly and made great recommendations.

Pretty spacious interior with cute decor. The food was not bad and pretty filling with decent portions. Both the avocado toast and lox toast had so much stuff on it and was really filling. The cafe can validate parking for an hour, but after that the parking is paid.

Cute spacious spot tucked away near office buildings. The owners were sweet and checked up on us a few times, and the food came out pretty quickly. The commons smash burger: The sauce was really good, tangy and herby and I loved it with the caramelized onions. The patty was a little overdone/dry and the fries were pretty standard. Classic breakfast sandwich: The croissant itself was standard, the egg patty was thick and fluffy and came with arugula, bacon, and cheese. The overall sandwich was a bit under-balanced and a little dry. Belgian waffle: Loved the fresh whipped cream! I do wish the waffles weren't as dense and the compote wasn't so thick and overly sweet almost like a jam. The blueberries on top were also a little old/wrinkly. I do think they are super friendly and it's a nice space, but with a few tweaks to their freshness it would be much better!

The service was great. I couldn't find the location but I called for help with finding and the lady that answered was so kind and helpful. I arrived and the interior was very nice and well decorated. Ordering was quick and they also validate parking for an hour which is a plus. I ordered a Lox toast and an iced apple latte. Both were very tasty and overall the price was $25 which I think was worth everything. Highly recommend.

This review is for visitors of patients dining in the Colors Cafe on Floor 1 (not for admitted…read morepatients). I had to be in Scripps Green for 3 weeks so I have experienced this cafeteria at all times of the day 7 days a week. As a smaller hospital I can understand the smaller cafeteria. However the options and availability of the food is pretty limited. While the food is fair with few hot dish items the salad bar is decent. The hot dishes consist of pizza, burgers, melts, soups, chicken tenders and then some featured main dish which always looks like it's over cooked sitting in liquid to keep it warm in the trays. Pretty much every day they have chicken teriyaki and rice for some reason. The best meals I have had from this cafeteria have by far been the breakfast. You can't really mess up bacon, eggs and pancakes I guess. Although go ahead and skip the french toast, as it is way over fried and crispy. They have pre made sandwiches and salads in the refrigerator cases. Bottles beverages, fountain drinks, coffee, ice cream, chips, cookies and more small sweets. They generally charge by weight for self serve buffett style hot dishes and salads. They really nickel and dime you on some things like charging for butter, ice and creamer. Other packaged items are scanned with a retail price. The staff is hit and miss. Some are nice and friendly while others are just slapping food around the griddle. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Outside is so nice with the views of Torrey Pines Golf Course and the ocean in the distance. Here's the main gripe. They barely have any options and they don't have keep the menu available for the entire time they are open. On weekdays they say they close at 8pm but stop cooking at 7pm. So nothing is replenished after 7pm. If you go down at 7:30pm you get what ever is left over. And that can be just a slice of pizza or a leftover burger wrapped in plastic. On this weekend they close at 6:30pm and they were dumping the food trays at 5pm!! A whole hour and a half before the posted closing time. All that is left was chicken tender and a picked thru salad bar. The only real option was packaged sandwiches from the fridge. Not fresh food. I find this very disappointing being at a hospital where you would think they would be promoting healthy options. Also twice they have locked us out on the patio dining area, without warning. They locked the doors from the inside while we were eating outside a half hour before closing time. They would have seen us out there eating but still locked it. We had to walk all the way around the hospital to get back inside. They simply could have opened the door and said we are closing this section up early or something. Completely ride and inconsiderate. The location of Scripps Green offers no other options in walking distance so you are basically stuck with the cafeteria as your only option. There is a Hilton if you trek down the street a ways. They really need to broaden the menu and keep it available for patrons ALL THE WAY TILL CLOSING TIME. People are already under stress when visiting here, is it too much to ask to have food available when you're "open".

TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY…read more.. Nice enough self-service place with fair prices. Decent food and plenty of seating. Definitely a decent option without having to leave the hospital. Recommended

The View? 5 The Service? 4…read moreThe Food? 3 Let's be honest here - I needed a good digital nomad seat to complete some work, make some calls, and get outside. Cliff Hanger Cafe provided all of that. While not necessarily quiet due to the large crowds that gather to say OMG I'd never do something like that, that's crazy, as they watch paragliders soar along the cliffs and those waiting for their tandems. But come early enough, on a weekday, with meh weather? Still better than sitting in an office~! The food was less expensive than I thought it would be - reasonable actually for something that is pulled from a cooler and tossed onto a grill with little effort behind the makeshift kitchen. Orders are a bit hard to hear, but damnit - why did it have to be okay tasting?! I thought for sure it would be the worst - but a solid three out of five. Will I be back? Yep. Order food? Yep. Coffee? Nope. We could still use some work there.

I was again concerned that we were walking into another a dud and lo and behold the man outdid himself! This was not the experience I expected and I was so pleased with the Cliff Hanger Cafe! Not only was my food great, but the views and watching experience was out of this world. I had never seen or heard of a glider port and am so glad that I got to experience it (way to go hubby). While enjoying a beverage and sandwich, we were able to watch gliders starting/stopping and of course gliding. Amazing to see how it is done and the view from the cliff is poetic. Not to mention you are right next to Torrey Pines (WHAT). La Jolla in the distance, the vast ocean, a meal and watching gliders start and land, yep a very fulfilling morning! Only downside, port-a-potty's! But I would do it again for the experience!
