Stopped in to B&B for a mixed berry smoothie at 9am. It took about ten minutes to be ready. I really enjoyed it as it was fresh & not too sweet. Service was fast & friendly and the price for the medium smoothie was very reasonable! Such a cozy cafe! Really easy to walk to from any store downtown in La Jolla. Great place and prices for breakfast and lunch and for coffee/tea. During my most recent visit, I came for some quick coffee to-go. We barely had to wait in line to order and within 3 minutes of ordering, our lattes were ready. Super fast and quality service! I loved my iced mocha and my husband enjoyed his iced latte. In the future, he would probably add a flavored syrup, but the coffee itself was still good. My iced mocha was perfectly balanced. I've driven by this place at least a dozen times and really wanted to stop by and finally got the chance today! Parking is a little tricky in La Jolla but a weekday is at least more feasible than a weekend. I arrived around 10:30 a.m. after a hike and the coffee shop was packed! Although I was able to order very quickly and get my food and coffee out fairly quickly! The service is so nice, friendly, warm and gives a really welcoming mom and pop family feel. We stumbled upon Brick & Bell while strolling in La Jolla looking for some caffeine. The store itself is cute, but tiny on the inside. The line was a few people deep when we arrived, but the staff is very efficient and were able to not only take our order but also get our drinks out to us in a reasonable manner. The vanilla chai is absolutely heavenly and I'm already counting down the days until I'm able to make it back out to have another! The display case was full of pastries that looked delicious and are definitely on my "must try" list. My latte was overfilled and spilled once I went to the other counter to grab a straw. When I took off the lid the espresso spilled out and I tried to mix the remaining coffee. I was looking for a coffee shop to do some computer work after my La Jolla beach session. I bump into Brick & Bell cafe. It's cute and homey. It had front outdoor seating, indoor and back outdoor seating. Employees were kind to me greeted me. I order a Sunrise Sandwich, they used a bagel, I had a choice of everything bagel, sesame or regular. I choose sesame as my bagel choice. It had eggs and cheddar cheese I also added turkey sausage for an additional 0.50 cent, I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was delicious. I love the vibe of this shop and the food. This is a very cute little cafe tucked in a quaint and very walkable area of La Jolla shores. There is some seating inside, some tables out front on the sidewalk and even a few hidden shaded tables out in the alleyway behind the building. Tried a large iced vanilla latte, overall it was OK. Their vanilla syrup is VERY sugary, which is not how I prefer my iced lattes. I could only drink about half before I had to give up on it because the sugar was too overpowering. Pricing was decent for a drink of that size though, just quality was kind of lacking. However, I also picked up a bag of their homemade Palmier cookies and they are amazing! Not too sweet, crunchy, light and very delicious. I would certainly go back if I was in town again just to pick up another bag of those cookies. read more

I checked out Brick and Bell Cafe in La Jolla and I absolutely loved it. The servers were so kind and friendly. The actual place was so charming. I loved the outside with the brick and the cute wooden signs. They had tables outside that were filled with happy people. Inside it was chock full of things to eat and drink. I was in love with the display case filled with so many delicious desserts. I pretty much wanted everything but settled for a mini chocolate chip scone and an Oat Milk Latte. They both were amazing. I ran into a friend there which really made me feel like a local! Anyway, I guess I am! She told me that their berry scones were to die for. I will have to try that next time.
