The pastries were fresh, moist and memorable. Of course I had to ask the service desk who supplies them. I found out they were from The Sugaree, so I had to stop by on my way home to see what else they had on the menu. So I walk into The Sugaree and not only do they have pastries, there's a whole dining room, a full menu with breakfast bite, specialty sandwiches, fresh bread, and so much more. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. It was so delicious. The Sugaree is a hidden gem, tucked away, serving up deliciousness.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.

"Marine colors, chocolate interior, platoon number, etc." We drove almost an hour to pick this up. If it weren't for the editable paper insignia, one would guess it was for a baby shower with the colors used. To make matters worse, the lid smashed into the top layer while we were driving back. I should have NOT bought it but felt weird since we went to the guy's house to pick it up. His store front had closed. We ended up leaving it at the Airbnb and not presenting it to our marine because it looked so bad. I'm sure it tasted good, but lacked in presentation. I was really disappointed. Russ did offer to come by and fix the top but by the time we connected we were no longer at the house and the cake was in the trash.

Her hours are limited (closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday), as she's a one woman show of chocolatey force. You will be shipping chocolates home to tide you over in the off season!
