Great place to get rice noodles, just don't go there if you're already hangry or if you're just generally an impatient person looking for noodles. When I first tasted the broth, I thought I was impressed because it's a pork-based broth with a lot of flavor but after couple of sips, I personally felt like it started to taste a little bland. I got the beef braised rice noodles so it wasn't so bad but after seeing the toppings I understood why it wasn't my preferred taste. It had corn, dry herbs, ham and tofu with beef slices. There was more but I'm not too sure of the other unfamiliar garnishes, in fact; it almost seemed a little bit random. I think it would have been nice if there were other condiments available on the table, like sriracha, soy sauce, etc. since I felt like there was something lacking (despite all the random toppings). My girlfriend had the pork braised rice noodles and she made a comment about how the chopsticks that the restaurant provides don't seem to be that functional with the rice noodles in the soup--and this is coming from a woman who knows how to handle her chopsticks. She also mentioned that she spent more time prying the meat off the pork bone than actually eating any of it. This is why I don't recommend coming here if you're impatient. She also ordered the crispy chicken and absolutely loved it. The chicken was soft and tender, and the batter was sweet and crispy. Totally melted in your mouth and totally 10/10. Aside from all these critical points, I still decently enjoyed my meal. The food was overall good/average but nothing "jaw-dropping." All in all, I don't want to discourage you from eating here because there's definitely potential in these dishes. I suppose you could say that it's definitely an acquired taste.

    Beef rib bone soup

I patiently waited for this place to finish renovating... and the wait paid off! Upon learning that this is a franchise with mixed reviews, I went in with no expectations except hoping for a tasty bowl of noodles, and I got exactly that! I've been there twice - first time I got the original broth crossing the bridge noodle and the second time was the beef rib bone. The broth is very flavorful and stays very hot due to the special bowl they use. If spice is your thing, they provide spicy oil for you as well. The only thing I don't quite get is, while I understand the origin of the "crossing the bridge" noodle soup (aka the add your own ingredient part), I think they could just give diners the choice of the kitchen adding everything for them (I think that's what most people do anyway) vs. bringing 10 little plates of one piece ingredient per. Or even put everything on a big plate? I say this because the non crossing the bridge choices have all the ingredients tossed in there already anyway. I don't know, just watching out for their dishwasher ;) Anyways, I'm happy to have them here!

Noodle soup with Bone-in Beef (with extra meatballs)

Pretty surprised how mediocre this soup was, considering that it is surrounded by awesome Asian restaurants. This is Chinatown, delicious is on every corner. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. Tried the Pork Soup with Beef on the bone. I loved that the broth was hot (some noodle joints in Calgary could learn something here), but that's it. It didn't have a much flavor. The beef was on a giant bone and any flavor that was there had long since been boiled away. And it was tough and hard to eat. I got the extra meatballs. Very forgettable. The noodles were way too soft, or over cooked, couldn't stand up to the hot broth. They fell apart when I picked them up. This is a noodle shop... right? And the wilted lettuce leaves on top... I don't understand. Doesn't look good, doesn't taste good. So there it is. Something you'd expect in a Shopping Mall Food Fair. Except this was $17, so I expected more. I know what you are thinking - 'So CW, nothing good to report today?' In fact, there was one good thing: Chocolate Lab is just down the street, so Dad is getting a killer box of choco for father's day, and I got one piece for the road. Tasty silver lining...

Pickled Cabbage rice noodle soup with fish slices and Spicy Flavored Crossing the Bridge rice noodle soup. Salty crispy chicken as appetizer

I enjoyed the broth of the Pickled Cabbage noodle soup with fish slices. The broth is not spicy, but it does have this kick to it that made my nose run a little. I'm not a big spicy eater so I guess that is why. The noodles were also pretty tasty. Overall I enjoyed coming here.

Too much soup and so little portion of actual meat and other ingredients. Big ripoff for the price. I do not recommend this place

They should provide a 2nd sauce. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, which came with white steamed rice which we liked since most places you have to order rice separately, but the cubes of pork were so small, lean and quite dry and the carrots tasted old. We ordered the phingsha which was overpriced for what it was. Portion size was very small, the beef was dry and chewy. We would like to come back and try some other items, but we weren't overly impressed with our choices other than the chicken momos

Our food was prepared quickly (20 minutes), packed efficiently(i.e. remained hot and intact in their containers without any leakage), and was ready for hubby to pick up when he arrived. #3. Momo Platter($16): these are definitely our favourites(we prefer them steamed)! The platter includes 4 beef, 2 vegetable, and 2 tofu momos that should be eaten with their homemade chili oil sauce. #25. Chicken Gyathuk($14): this is like a chicken ramen with bits of vegetables in a flavourful broth. The chicken is shredded/torn and very tender. #26. Beef Thenthuk($14): this soup hits the spot and is so comforting on a chilly day like today. I love the thick, chewy hand pulled pasta which reminds me of the Xi'an biang biang noodles. So, in response to Jonny M., I'm sorry that you were disappointed, but these noodles are not like Chinese la mian! #27. Beef Mokthuk($16): what can we say? This soup is another winner! There are plenty of beef dumplings in this bowl for three to share!

My fiance and I ordered the curry udon, the kake udon with chicken, and a tonkatsu sando. We were pleasantly surprised with how great everything tasted. The udon is freshly made and the soups were so flavorful. The chicken was so tender and went really well with the broth. The tonkatsu sando was light and crispy and the sauce was tangy and smoky. Great spot for late night eats! It's located next to lots of bars so it was pretty loud. Servers were super nice and accommodating to let us move to a different table since it was too loud.

Of course, we must give it a try. The ambiance was amazing and made me feel like I was in Japan. We ordered two udon and hand rolls. The hand roll didn't quite meet our expectations and was a bit small, but their house soy sauce was delicious and not too salty. We ordered the shaved beef and shredded chicken udon. They were top-notch. The udon was fantastic, chewy, fresh and served with flavorful broth. We finished everything, including the broth. The portions were generous. However, the happy hour promotion was only for plain udon $8 and the meat was the regular price. It was actually a bit pricey without the happy hour promotion.

I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen and Spring Rolls and they were both delicious with super fresh ingredients. The only other time I have had ramen was in Japan, and this was definitely comparable to the quality there. The broth was wonderful, as was the pork. My only complaint food wise was the sauce the spring rolls came with. It wasn't the usual peanut sauce I would expect with this dish, but more of a soy sauce tasting sauce. Additionally, this location was very difficult to find. It was on the second floor of an office building that was locked when I tried to get inside. I called the number on the sign and it was not picked up, but after about 5 minutes or so of waiting they came down with my order and gave it to me.
