My brother wanted to try this restaurant so we decided to stop by here for dinner. His suggestion did not disappoint. Both the food and service were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Their menu is quite extensive so it took some time to decide what to order. I do suggest ordering a clay pot entree as it is part of their namesake. The clay pot was hot enough that there was a crispy, scorched layer of rice to snack on. I actually enjoy eating that crispy rice and appreciate a restaurant preparing this dish correctly. I stopped by Claypot Asian Food Kitchen in Calgary after craving for Cantonese style claypot. Unfortunately, the halibut claypot I got felt nothing like the authentic type...from the rice to the soy sauce...and I was genuinely disappointed eben though the fried milk was good...I'd give the 5.5/10 read more

The food, the service, and the atmosphere were very good. The ginger beef was tender and delicious. The Asian salad was flavorful and fresh. The tuna Tatati was very good, as well as the salt and pepper shrimp. The only slight misstep is they bring everything at once. Better to have it phased over 15 or 20 minutes. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant is in a little strip mall with lots of parking. Inside it was well decorated and they had projectors pointing at each wall with scenery changing. My 8 year old enjoyed that. We started our meal with the Asian style slaw which was great - the dressing was really good without being too soggy or overpowering. For entrees we ordered from the lunch set. My son ordered the Mala chicken fried rice (without the Mala which would have made it spicy). He thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Pork Sparerib Noodle box set. It came with 3 large ribs, noodle soup, and mango pudding. Yummy! I ordered the BBQ Pork rice which was also excellent. The sauce dripped onto the plain rice making it tasty. For dessert we tried the fried milk (comes in 5) and the fish shaped ice cream (matcha). Both great and just what we needed to end the meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. There are six cameras projecting animation scenery(Sakura and pagodas, deep sea aquariums, gardens) on two expansive side walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the beef lettuce wraps to share with pickled sprouts and slivers of garlic; Szechuan chicken and mushroom clay pot rice with delicious bits of crunchy rice at the bottom(fan jjiew or soccarat), and spicy pork with thin hand pulled noodles. The food here was extremely tasty! We ordered smoked beef brisket bao buns, Szechuan spiced chicken breast with shiitake mushrooms with clay pot rice and braised beef with noodle soup. This is chef made food -- not commercially made, pre-packaged / frozen food prepared by a line cook. went here with my family. My daughter loved the juicy potstickers and y sister's favorite were the cumin chicken wings. We all enjoyed watching the "smoke" rise from the sake cured salmon and tuna. Was fun to watch for sure. My mom also loves eating salad, so she enjoyed the yummy Asian slaw. With the added seaweed, it hit the spot and the dressing was the added touch! Not too much but not too little. We definitely loved the tasty beef with mozzarella and cheddar cheese. We added the soy sauce they gave and was so flavorful. Best part was the cheese pull! We love a good cheese pull. To top off our meal, my sister ate two of the green tea tofu pudding and I loved the chocolate lava cake. The sauce they give on the side was a nice touch to the sweetness. My parents both had the green tea and yuzu cheesecake. The cheesecakes didn't stand a chance and my parents devoured it all! The projector screened walls were fun to watch and gives off great lighting! The food and service was great! The Dongpo chicken wings and the smoked beef brisket with Bailey bun were to die for.

The servers were very kind on my visit! The shrimp cracker nachos and Dongpo chicken wings were also delicious appetizers to prepare my stomach for the braised Beef noodle soup which had great noodle consistency and nice fatty meat. Read the other reviews and decided to give this place a try! I was craving for a clay pot dish and appetizers. Here's what I ordered: an Asian slaw (salad), nachos, and the halibut clay pot! I'm so happy I came here! The salad was delicious, they put some seaweed salad in it and loved the salad dressing! The nachos were REALLY GOOD! They use shrimp chips for the chips which made it a perfect combo with all the cheese and meat and veggies! Don't forget the salsa that they give in the side. Yum! Last but not least, the halibut clay pot topped off the meal! The halibut was so tender and soft! I left with a full and happy belly that's for sure! Don't forget about the decorations and the projector walls! They also have a Father's Day menu for this Sunday! Going to hunt to my family to bring me there for the meal! Service was good, but food was very bland. The one thing that is required to make claypot rice bowl good is having great soy sauce to put over into the pot n allowing the rice to soak in the flavor. Also, the crunch of the rice at the bottom of the pot is something to look foward to. Did not get the best experience when it came to the flavors. My husband and I decided to try Clay Pot for dinner one evening . Since it's at a strip mall just down from Nicks Steak House , it was easy to find & good parking . We ordered the Flaming chicken wings , Smoked Beef Brisket with Cheddar with clay pot rice & Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles. The restaurant had 2 full length projection screens with moving clips. One was under sea giant turtles , sting rays & whales calmly gliding through ocean . Large art screen of Monet painting with motion . Also large moving screen of Asian countryside seasons . I enjoyed this entertainment. The restaurant got busy especially at supper time. It was a nice touch to get water jug & glasses right away . The DangPo wings came & they were flamed at our table . Very tasty and unique . The Smoked brisket with Cheddar on clay pot rice was tasty but I'm not keen with the melted cheese . The Szechuan Dan Dan noodles are fine . We weren't sure if they would be hot but they are tasty . For dessert we had the Lava Cake with raspberry sauce . It would have been nice with a little scoop of ice cream but delicious anyway .
