We ordered this food from Uber Eats and weren't overly impressed Although the chicken momos were great, the dough was thick, the chicken was seasoned perfectly, but the sauce was really hot. They should provide a 2nd sauce. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, which came with white steamed rice which we liked since most places you have to order rice separately, but the cubes of pork were so small, lean and quite dry and the carrots tasted old. We ordered the phingsha which was overpriced for what it was. Portion size was very small, the beef was dry and chewy. Both my hubby and son were working late, so we decided to get takeout. Unfortunately, the online ordering system was a bit quirky(not all the menu items were showing up) when my husband tried to order on his iPhone, so I had to place our order the old-fashioned way (via our landline) instead. Our food was prepared quickly (20 minutes), packed efficiently(i.e. remained hot and intact in their containers without any leakage), and was ready for hubby to pick up when he arrived. #3. Momo Platter($16): these are definitely our favourites(we prefer them steamed)! The platter includes 4 beef, 2 vegetable, and 2 tofu momos that should be eaten with their homemade chili oil sauce. #25. Chicken Gyathuk($14): this is like a chicken ramen with bits of vegetables in a flavourful broth. The chicken is shredded/torn and very tender. #26. Beef Thenthuk($14): this soup hits the spot and is so comforting on a chilly day like today. I love the thick, chewy hand pulled pasta which reminds me of the Xi'an biang biang noodles. So, in response to Jonny M., I'm sorry that you were disappointed, but these noodles are not like Chinese la mian! #27. Beef Mokthuk($16): what can we say? This soup is another winner! We were in town for a short visit but managed to squeeze in a dinner with friends at Tibet Kitchen. They specialize in Nepalese food. You'll find them next door to Bodega Mexican Restaurant and JusFruit. We dropped in on a slow Monday (around 6:30pm). Service was friendly and appreciated how they brought a whole jug of water for the table. The menu is split appetizers, soups, Tibetan specialties and main dishes (vegetarian, fried rice, chow mein, pork, seafood, chicken and beef). - 2x Bhod-jha ($2.50) - Tibetan butter tea. N didn't like this at all and he likes everything butter. Over the top salty. - Jha ngarmo ($2.50) - Indian sweet chai tea. Standard fare. - Mango lassi ($5.00) - Laping(#10) ($10.00) - we were expecting a cold noodle dish but this was completely different. Noodles had a good bite and the filling was tasty. Interesting that they threw in bits of dried instant noodles for some texture. The homemade spicy hot sauce was delicious! Unexpected kick. - Momo platter (#3) ($16.00 for 8) - we opted for steamed and were given two each of beef, chicken, vegetable and tofu. My favourite from the four was the beef. - Chicken momo (#19) ($15.00 for 8) - we tried the fried version. Not too deep fried or greasy. - Sha-bhaley (#24) ($16.00 for 4) - enjoyable but pricey for what you get. At this point, this was a lot of carbs. - Thenthuk (#26) ($14.00) - broth is simple and basic. Noodles were okay but when you describe it as hand pulled, I expect greatness. - Shaptak (#51) ($18.00) - we opted for the "gravy" version. Average stir fry fare. So..... we're here for a music conference and my son isn't feeling the best, so I started looking up "won ton soup" on yelp. I found this jewel of a restaurant Tibet. It was the photo of the hand pulled flat noodles that grabbed my attention. I ran in and grabbed the soup to go. The most beautiful sight met my eyes when I opened the piping hot soup. Gorgeous handmade flat noodles, soothing beefy broth, spinach, and flecks of cilantro hit the spot. My son was gracious enough to let me try ONE noodle! Yum!!! It was so good my husband and I went again the next day for dinner. Of course we got more hearty noodle soup and some "Dry chili chicken"........ awesome food! Awesome service!!! Did a pick up of steamed chicken Momos & chicken curry. Both so fresh and tasted like it's made out of love. Had homemade taste to it esp the chicken curry. The owner of the restaurant is so sweet. He offered me masala chai which was amazingly made while I waited for my food. Fun fact about him is that he and his dad have both cooked for the Dalai Lama. Now you know that you will be good hands. I'm yet to try their popular dish which is the chowmein. read more

So amazing! We found this restaurant at the last minute after arriving in Calgary on our way to Banff. Tenzen was so attentive and really helpful in providing us with tips while in the area. The momo platter and the sha-bhaley were excellent, made even more amazing by the chili oil. The chili oil is made in-house so you won't find it anywhere else. The location is also really great. On a walkabout we chanced upon this gem, apparently the only Tibetan restaurant in all of Alberta. The fish pakoras are lightly battered and practically melt in your mouth, the momos are firm without being chewy. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. We'll be back to try the rest of the fascinating menu. read more

Disappointed by the takeout we ordered. Food was quite bland, not well-seasoned or noticeably spiced. The application of hot sauce made it spicy, but still added only one note. The flaming momos were a big disappointment: the sauce had the gloppy, slimy consistency that comes from adding too much corn starch. Not sure why reviewers are calling this restaurant authentic: it seems to be very much catering to an audience who likes starch and bland food. read more

So nice to have finally have an authentic Tibetan restaurant in Calgary. My favorite Tibetan dishes at the Tibet Kitchen were the Beef Momos, Shabaley, and Blood Sausage (make sure to ask to make this extra spicy). Also their Tibetan hand pulled pasta soup is also delicious and very filling, just what I needed on a cold Calgary winter day last week. Highly recommend. I went with a girlfriend before the Dec 2020 lockdown. We ordered two types of Lhasa Momo (chicken and beef) and each came with a side of delicious coleslaw. We also shared the Parkdale Pakoras (cauliflower). The owner is from Nepal but always lived in Tibet. He was extremely friendly. He and his wife take turns doing the cooking. He offered us some Tibetan tea that was extremely good and wouldn't take any money for the coleslaw dressing I offered to buy. I will certainly go back. Extremely clean. read more
