We decided to check out this place out for Dim Sum. Located inside the T&T market. We arrived just before the lunch rush. Ordered the following: 103 - Shrimp & pork siu Mai $6.95 107 - Sticky rice in Lotus leaf $6.95 505- BBQ pork steam rice roll $6.95 425- Fried cubed Turnip w/ xo sauce $9.95 301- Baked egg tarts $5.25 The food items we ordered were all 10/10. The tarts could have been baked longer, that's my opinion. The flavour yummy!!! Now I don't know if it was because we were so hungry, my goodness was very good compared to other dim sum place we have been. Server (Yong Wen) was very friendly and as soon as they sat us done we had hot tea to drink. Food showed up in no time after writing the number and quantity down. By the time we were finished eating the place was busy with eating in customers. Parking is plenty.

First time at this Chinese restaurant and got to eat my favourite food: dim sum. M Bistro didn't disappoint. Quick, friendly service with fresh hot dim sum. The bbq pork crepes, shui Mai and donut crepe top notch. Very modern look inside with modern settings. Love it. Looking forward next time for the dinner portion. If your near here, got to try this place!!!

This is our go to for Dim Sum. It is always fresh and hot. The Salt and Pepper squid is the best in the city.

Probably the best we've had in Calgary. Beef n broccoli, chicken chow mein, mini pork buns, ma po tofu.

Standouts were the chili oil dumplings, soup dumplings, and wonton soup. I would stick with the dumplings.

We ordered the steamed squid, scallop dumpling, BBQ pork and shrimp rice crepes and xioa long bao (which was average).

Drinks: Cucumber Salad - fantastic, slightly tart with refreshing cucumber, perfectly balanced, with a touch of savoriness from the sesame oil, loved this drink Staycation - sweet, creamy with notes of pineapple, coconut and rum, really rich but delicious if you like a sweeter cocktail Food: Banh Xeo - so good, super crispy crepe, filled with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts, we made little lettuce wraps and dipped it in the fish sauce Lemongrass chicken - comforting and delicious, chicken was well seasoned, tender and juicy served with rice and veggies, really enjoyed the staff meal Passion fruit coconut cookies ice cream sandwich - sweet but tasty, coconut cookies had a nice chew and a great texture, passion fruit ice cream was creamy and rich with mild passion fruit flavor, decadent dessert Service was great, friendly and welcoming. Water was refilled throughout our meal and pacing was solid. Overall love our visit to paper lantern, great food and drinks with a nice variety of options! We had been eating overly heavy dinners over the past few days, so we decided to be relatively gentle with our order this time. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Xiao Long Bao (小籠包 - Soup Dumplings): This is my daughter's favorite, so we ordered two baskets for her. They were executed beautifully. They were well-steamed on a clean sheet, and thankfully, there was no grayish blood seeping out of the meat. The wrapper (麵 皮) was right on the spot--not too hard or soft, not too thick or thin, and it didn't have that rubbery "chewing gum" or mushy "play dough" texture you get at lesser places. The pork filling tasted clean with no funky pork smell. Very nice. Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup: This was just okay, but to be fair, I don't expect a flawless bowl of beef noodle soup from a restaurant that doesn't strictly specialize in it (especially at a Dim Sum-focused spot). The broth was a bit plain and served lukewarm. The tendon, however, was well-cooked and well-marinated with a pleasant taste; it was a bit on the firmer side, which didn't bother me. The noodles were on the softer, sparser side rather than dense and chewy. I personally prefer a firmer noodle, but again, I can't complain too much given the venue. Spicy Tofu and Preserved Egg (麻辣皮蛋豆腐): I really liked this dish. The tofu had a fantastic, fresh soy taste, the preserved egg was delicious, and the chili oil and soy sauce dressing was perfectly balanced. If you are wondering what these "black eggs" are and feel a bit hesitant or concerned about trying them, I highly recommend giving them a shot here. This dish will easily fix those concerns! Overall, it was a great meal. I will definitely return, and next time we have the appetite, I'll dive deeper into the dishes they truly specialize in.
