I can't believe I have put this place off for so long. Today I decided I was gonna give Malt N burger a try and it did not fail me. Went here after a skate session with my family. We've been wanting to try it for a while and glad we finally did! I ordered a sourdough burger (regular burger on sourdough bread) and it was delicious! My husband was eyeing it the whole time and regretted not ordering it himself. The meat was tasty and the veggies were so fresh!! If the patties were just a little thicker and the fries had seasoning it would have gotten 5 stars. Maybe it was an off day but they just weren't hitting like I expected them to based on reviews! Mmm well I should have known better but I was pretty hungry and thought my daughter would have something good to eat near by her home. Not too many choices once I got 3 miles to her house. Saw this place right off Hwy 6 so thought just maybe would have something good. It's a older restaurant what you would expect at in a small town. It also had some good reviews. It's obvious that my choice of food was not on the review list. I ordered chicken strip basket with fries. It also came with toast and gravy. Soon as I got it, I opened up and quickly realized this was a pre-frozen food just fried. Now I am so disappointed because immediately I can smell the oil probably needed changed and suspect they fry fish here too since I could smell it slightly. Took it my daughters and soon as I sat down to eat the fries had zero flavor(NO SALT) and didn't taste well. The chicken strips are what you would buy at a grocery store. The gravy you couldn't even dip in because it was so thick and Lukewarm. I am gonna hope their specialty is the Malts and Burgers because this order was not. They a good size amount of people in there eating so a local hang out for sure. Would I eat there again? Probably not. read more

They serve the best Cheese Burgers around! Everything is very good. They've been around for a very long time and the food is consistently great. I hate to admit it but I'm 57 years old and they've been around longer than that! If you find yourself down highway 6 and wanting quick bite to eat, then this place is a good option. This burger is a bit nostalgic. It reminds me of those old burgers you got in school back in the day. I love the tater tots (warning eat them fresh) when they cool off the lose their luster. The burger is good. Nice, thin patty and cooked on a flattop which I like. This is not a gourmet type burger situation but again brings you back to your childhood. They do sell fries and sweet potato fries too. There's also some other menu items but I haven't tried them. I went to high school in Alvin so this place has definitely changed ownership and food through the years but it's not bad. The family running it now is very nice and always friendly. We had 2 cheeseburgers and 2 fries and spent about 14.00 so not bad at all. read more

This is an order at the counter they bring it to your table (at least they brought ours) I wasn't as impressed with this place as other yelpers. I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was an okay burger but nothing special. My companion had the fried catfish basket and enjoyed it. Really good Burgers but what can you expect from a restaurant that has been open for years. Everything tasted fresh and homemade nothing seemed frozen like many other places. The Jalapeno poppers were so good and so were the fries and onion rings. The corndogs are definitely made in house and definitely worth a try for their price. We are going back to try some of the other many items that are on their menu. We also took the food from Alvin to Baytown(50min drive) and everything from the fries to the burgers did not get soggy which is a plus! read more

Mom and pop shop style burger place. I'm from California and was on a near by job site. Looked up surrounding restaurants. This wasn't the only 4 star place but it did have the most reviews.
