Food was bad and the inside is bad need of an update. The people are friendly and there is ample parking.

I stopped in after lunch to try some ice cream. I didn't realize they also had a lunch menu here as well. Anyway, once I stepped in, I was immediately at the order counter but needed to step to my left to see which ice creams were available in the cooler. Sadly, most of the flavors didn't have any labels which the lady who helped me noticed, but wasn't in a rush to solve the problem. I simply chose one of the two with a label and fortunately, it was delicious! I was trying to look at the overhead menu board that changes every few seconds and the ice cream flavors it listed didn't match the labels either. So, I'm still not certain if all those flavors are available all the time or only occasionally. But back to my order, I got a "single" scoop in a bowl of some sort of vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirls and "traks" or cold reese's pieces type flavors. Note that regardless of how many actual scoops it takes, they keep adding ice cream until the bowl you select is filled. The ice cream was a little bit crystalized at first, but once the ice cream got just a bit warmer, the texture became smooth and creamy. And the flavor was really good. The price was cheaper than what I pay in Indy for ice cream, so I didn't mind that there is a $.50 charge on credit card orders under $5. I even left a tip and didn't reach that amount! Very good food but some younger kids working there were very rude. It seems other employees and customers know this too but they were related to the owner or family friends with them or something so no one ever did anything about it. So finally got the chance to come back here. It was great! I got the Italian Melt which was shredded beef, onions and mushrooms on a french roll w/melted mozzarella and tomato sauce. To go along with it, I got the Bacon & Cheese Waffle Fries. They were really good: fried just right with the bacon and cheese in 2 separate containers so you could dip first in melty cheese and then bacon! I finished off the meal w/a Chocolate Peanut Butter Malt! I was so full and very happy. If you're passing Greensburg on the way to somewhere, take some time out to stop in here. As we were driving home to Indianapolis my family wanted to stop for an ice cream treat. It's definitely a hole in the wall type atmosphere. When you walk in the door you immediately are standing at the counter so it's a little bit confusing. They have scoop ice cream which is fine and soft serve also. My dad chose the homemade banana ice cream and it was amazing. I chose mint chocolate chip and my daughter chose cookie dough. We switched half way through. Clean restaurant and personable staff. They keep their red catsup bottles in the fridge!!! Not on the tables all day long at room temperature turning to vinegar... Nice touch. I swear their Point burger has 50% less grease than those major fast food establishments. Their grilled tenderloin is also very good. French fries are large crinkle cut not greasy, mushy overly salted or fried to leather strips like some places that fry their product ahead. Very extensive menu for a small restaurant. Fish, beef, pork, chicken, salads. Order the way you want it. Good value. Their milkshakes alone are worth the stop! Easy access from I-74 down Michigan Road coming from Indy. Stopped in on a road trip looking for a gem. Didn't find one, but it was still ok. Had the point burger, hoping for a fresh burger patty, but it frozen patties. Wife had a BLT and it was good. Nice little hometown diner. We stopped in for coffee but were wooed by a handwritten sign near the door advertising their walking tacos as a great snack. It was quick and tasty, taco meat, lettuce, salsa and shredded cheese poured into a snack bag of Fritos for $2.00. I've never had the food here, but we eat the ice cream at least once per week during the spring/summer. They have a ton of options and flavors. I almost always get the pineapple whip...best I've ever had! the blue goo is my favorite, but they never make it. I also think that the service has improved and staff is more friendly than in the past. They do local delivery, which is dangerous for me! Ha! I just ordered a chocolate milkshake, and rather than make it with chocolate ice cream, it was vanilla with Hershey's syrup in it. It also was $4.25, until I got out my credit card and then it was going to be an extra $.50 because somehow on a $4.25 milkshake there still isn't enough margin to cover a transaction fee. If your CC processing company is raking you over the coals that bad, switch to square, it's 3%. Steak 'n Shake makes milkshakes for $3 and manages to leave Hershey's syrup out of the equation. read more

Great choice of hand-dipped and soft-serve ice cream as well as blizzards and shakes. For a family-owned restaurant they have a wide variety of food items as well, Friendly staff and they deliver! A little pricey compared to other places but the food is better than fast-food joints so it's worth the little extra. Nice place to take the family for a meal or just pop in for ice cream. It's a pretty small building so at times there may not be a table open but the sound level usually isn't too high either. So dissapointed! Do not plan on returning..Based on our last 2 trips at dairy point. First of all, the counter people are some of the rudest people ever.. About a month ago we went there for dinner with a friend, and found a ROACH under our table. Alive, crawling all over the place.. We told them about it and they did nothing, not comp our meals,. nothing. The worker did not seem concerned at all. They didn't even offer to move us. & Tonight we order dinner and ice cream from there and had it delivered. One of the flurries was completely melted and my daughter said it tasted horrible and I called them & asked if we could switch it. The girl acted offended and became so rude with me and kept saying that it was going to melt some . I finally said look I just spent $40 there, can I just not bring this back and switch it? My daughter said when she brought it in there to give them they were talking about me saying she didn't even spend $40.... O, excuse me you're right, I spent $37, yes you're right. But next time believe me, I will take my $37 to ANOTHER restaurant and not Dairy Point! read more
