I enjoyed this event at Easy Rider Diner. I had been wanting to try as I am a fan of diners, dives and drive-ins lol. I was not a fan of the drinks. I first tried Christopher oaxanao... can't really spell it but was told it sounded like walken? Anyway it was very bitter, took one sip and asked for a different drink, which they agreed to with no issue. The second drink was called no aloha. It was much better but tini wini! Lol I came home and fixed a good old glass of wine! Now to the food. I had honey hot chicken and sweet potatoes (fries) The flavors were perfect. I can't have dairy so I got honey hot dipping sauce . Perfect amount of spices and heat. I would like to come back and try the vegan nachos. The restaurant is designed like a diner. Nice atmosphere. Throwback music. The food is always amazing. If you think you have had steak fries before you really need to try theirs because they are out of this world. So many flavors going on, all complementing each other. Easy Rider is a great spot in Fountain Square. I usually go for their chicken and waffles. However, today I tried the avocado toast. You can choose how you want your eggs and I picked scrambled. A ton of eggs came with the toast so I left stuffed! The fruit was delicious as a side and for the price I feel that the portion size was really good! On the toast there's avocado, of course, but also pickled veggies which complements the avocado toast nicely. I might want a thicker toast or a harder toast on the bread to hold up to all the toppings, so I plan to ask the next time I order! read more

Easy Rider is a restaurant by the same cats who run the HiFi, which is located next door. The HiFi is great, and Easy Rider is great. It's very simple. And by "great," I mean the food is way better than it needs to be, the service is excellent, the decor in the restaurant is eclectic and visually interesting, and most importantly: they have great coffee! This is important for a place that serves breakfast and brunch, which Easy Rider does. They also serve lunch, as well as dinner after 4 p.m. We visited for lunch, and got a bunch of different things, including the vegan tacos, which were stuffed with potatoes, chunks of tofu, vegan chorizo, peppers, pico de gallo and cilantro. One order is three gigantic tacos, of which I could only finish two! That's how big the order is. I only learned after the fact that you could get the tacos with corn tortillas if you request them. They come with flour tortillas, but my preference is always corn if it's available. We also got the short rib burrito, one of the specials of the day. The burrito was beef short rib, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, potatoes, cheddar cheese, chipotle mayonnaise wrapped in a flour tortilla. It was delicious, with chunks of perfectly stewed short rib. On the side, we also ordered jalapeno cheddar corn bread, plus the soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla soup. We seemed to have ordered a lot of the Mexican food options at Easy Rider, but they also have breakfast things like waffles and biscuits & gracy, as well as sandwiches and salads. I've only been here during our annual visit to Post. Festival, which utilizes both the HiFi and HiFi Annex. So it's easily the quick and easy spot for food, not to mention the ability to see the shows on screen from the HiFi. The food here is excellent, very allergen-friendly, and service is top notch. I'm sure it can get frustrating with the crowds, but the staff is always so patient and helpful with all of the dietary needs of our group. (We're allergic to a lot!) I am not vegan myself, but the vegan tacos are *excellent.* Highly recommended. But honestly, there's not much here I wouldn't eat. (Except, you know, the stuff that inhibits my ability to breathe. Only chilaquiles and the adventure of trying a new spot could've lured me out of bed on a Sunday morning after an extra long week at work. I knew I wouldn't regret it! You know this is a good spot when there's a crowd of 20+ people waiting to get seated at as soon as they opened. I was so glad I made reservations in advance. The servers were friendly and kept our coffee cups full. The food was delicious. I'm sad this place is not closer to my house, it would be a weekend staple. Chilaquiles is my absolute favorite breakfast and it didn't disappoint. The chips were a the perfect mix of crispy and salty and the verde sauce was perfectly tangy with a little spice. So happy we had a reservation. There was an art fair going on we knew nothing about. I liked the inside, it's very diner like. My husband ordered The Square Breakfast. It had, eggs, sausage, home fries and toast. He said it was all just very basic breakfast food. Nothing really great or memorable about it. I ordered the waffle and chicken. I had never been to this gem and I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't been in the location since the previous place (which has been some time). It was PACKED. It wasn't necessarily a great weather day so I have to assume it was some of the eclipse traffic. They had GF items labeled, which is of course my thing. I started off with a Redneck Barbie (in honesty, this will be my last). It tasted like a sour starburst. Note - still a 5 star review so this will not hinder my decision going forward. They have plenty of bar style seating, which is ideal if you tend to fly solo for concert plans (and the meal before), like me I arrived at 5:30 before a 7:45 show (doors open at 7) and I had food within 20 minutes of being seated and had friendly service to boot! I ordered... Steak and cheese sandwich ($15): with pickled onions, roasted peppers, and bacon. This is the perfect sized sandwich and one of their more expensive sandwiches, so it looks like you're in for a good deal here. My only (minute) critique is that the steak is a little thick, so this is more of the knife and fork sandwich. Cool hand cuke ($7): as the resident sober gal of Yelp Indy, I love love loveeee any place that has mocktail options beyond the basic soda (which I don't even drink anyway). Bonus points for any place that offers mixed up mocktails beyond the canned/bottled mocktails. Bonus bonus points if you can get a couple different options of mixed up mocktails. Was really excited to try this place based on the review's. It's in heart of Fountain Square. I'm always looking for a good brunch place. This is a good one. We tried the waffle flight, chicken and waffles with hot honey and eggs Benedict served with short rib meat. Everything was delicious but the eggs Benedict had to be the best out of the three. Even the seasoned potatoes it cane with were prepared perfectly. The waffle flight came with several dipping sauces and the waffle was cut up to. Just pick up and dip. We did not have any left overs. Delish! Impressed my friends by taking them to Easy Rider. I got the waffle flight and a side of eggs. The peach butter is EVERYTHING. If I wasn't in public I would've licked that ramekin clean. Judge me. I don't care. The waffles are crispy! And trying all of the sauces is fun! With the amount of sauce you get you really need more waffle in my opinion. I had the Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich, along with a Side Salad. The Tenderloin was about 8 inches square, and almost an inch thick! The best tenderloin I've had in a very long time. They were delicious and I would absolutely order again. My only issue is that the chicken was a bit difficult to get off the skewer. We also ordered the mimosa flight. Came here for a brunch with some girlfriends, the hostess wasn't the nice and honestly neither were the rest of the staff (with the exception of our amazing server and the bartender was great) maybe it was just an off day. I was seated first till the rest of the party arrived, when she took me to our table a couple of buss boys was chilling on the table watching tv lol it was a little awkward when she told them to get up. I had an espresso martini made with bourbon (AMAZING) so amazing I had two lol. I've never had eggs Benedict before but ordered it based on my friend's recommendation and it was SUPERB! I was downtown recently to go see the Salvador Dali exhibit at the IMA, and stopped in for breakfast. It's a quaint and comfortable diner attached to the bar next door - The Hi Fi. The decor was cool. It featured local artist's art all over the walls. I am not sure if any of it was for sale. It wasn't busy or loud and I was able to relax and enjoy my time and company. ;o) We had: Biscuits (1) and gravy with 2 eggs and potatoes and Eggs Benedict - 2 poached eggs with sauce on toast, beef steak and potatoes. The biscuits and gravy were basically no frills and par for the course. The biscuits were fresh enough and adequate and the gravy was OK. It had enough sausage in it for my preference. The potatoes could have been a bit better. They didn't have much to them as far as seasoning and they were a bit dry. The 2 eggs were cooked to order. The food took awhile and it wasn't real hot (only warmish) when it arrived, but it wasn't cold either. The eggs Benedict was interesting. It was a twist on the standard way of preparing it. It had a chipotle flavored type of sauce on top of the eggs and it was on toast instead of English muffins. I wouldn't consider it a true hollandaise sauce. It was also served with beef steak / braised short rib and not Canadian bacon or ham. After trying it, I came to the conclusion that I prefer the standard version. I'd give the biscuits and gravy a 6 on a ten scale, and the eggs Benny a 5. The server was friendly and attentive enough. I am usually not downtown much, so I am not sure I would eat there again. This park is located in the heart of fountain square. There is free street parking within a reasonable walking distance from this place, but it is a bit tight and you may have to search for it. The front of this diner is not marked very good, but here is a hint. It is colocated with the Hi-Fi bar. The diner has a decent sized dining are with booths and tables. It is a neat little place with a cool vibe. They were playing classic soul music throughout the dining area. It was also very clean. They do not have a very large menu, but it is very efficient and packed with some good cafe favorites, some of which are very unique and creative. I was here for breakfast and it was hard for me to decide what I wanted. I will admit that it took a while for my server to get to me after I was seated, I would say it was over five minutes and they were not very busy. When he finally got to me I ordered the breakfast hash with a side of bacon and sweet plantains. I ordered some OJ to wash it down. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and It was picture perfect. I will say that the sides are kind of small though. I got three slices of bacon and three pieces of plantain. The has was not mixed up, which was no big deal. It component was placed in the skillet individually. I just mixed it up myself. The food was delicious. I really loved the hash. It was very flavorful. I went through it like a hot knife through butter. The bacon was well cooked and very meaty. Not too crispy and not too soft. It was made just right. Th plantains were on point as well. I got them to-go and ate them a bit later and they were still fresh and good. All-in-all this is a decent diner that is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and diner. It is open late and they have some amazing food. Since they are colocated with a bar, you can also get some adult beverages to go with your meal. This place is a 4.5 star place, but closer to a four than a five in my opinion. Milktooth has some serious competition on Virginia Ave. Easy Rider has a cool atmosphere that it shares with the concert venue, Hi-Fi, in the adjacent space. Good music welcomes you over the sound system while you get seated. The menu is lots of elevated brunch dishes - many with Southwestern influences. I got the baked eggs which was a skillet of cheese, Chorizo, and eggs. Spicy and delicious. Really needs to come with some potatos or something - need alot of starch to mop up that goey mess. I have to give major props to the staff at this restaurant for tolerating my group the first time. I stuck with water to drink, but one of my coworkers got a bloody mary, and I tried a sip. It was literally heaven on Earth, and I am dying to come back on a Sunday when my fiance can drive me so that I can have one myself!! The first time I went, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad with ranch. There's nothing more to say than how delicious it was!! The wrap has lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion with the warm buffalo chicken. The side salad is a generous portion as well!! Both the salad dressing and the buffalo chicken wrap were pretty salty, but that doesn't bother me a lot. It was definitely noticeable though. The next time I went, I ordered the club sandwich and asked for no cheese and another side salad. This was also delicious (but not as good as the buffalo chicken wrap). I've had both breakfast (vegan tacos and non-vegan biscuit) and dinner (chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries). The vegan tacos were definitely my favorite, along with the sweet potatoes and sandwich. The drinks menu is also a nice touch - nonalcoholic and boozy options! Staff is always really nice and the prices aren't horrible for what you're getting. read more
