I honestly had the strangest experience here the other day. I ordered 3 kid sized blizzards and opened my bag to pay with cash. I asked the total and the woman behind the counter told me it was $23.99 (I was a little shocked to learn that a kid sized blizzard was $7.50 each but everything is fairly pricey lately.) I took out a $20 and a $5 and paid the woman and put the remaining $1.01 in the tip jar. The other woman behind the counter came over to hand us our 3 blizzards that she had made and the woman who took my money said she couldn't find the $20 bill I had used to pay with. She looked at me like I should pay again or help her find the money but all I had left in my hand was a $10 and a couple of $1s. I'm not sure if she dropped it or not but she had a very expectant look on her face like I should hand her more money, but I had no intention on paying $45 for 3 treats because she couldn't find the cash. Side note, the Dairy Queen in Union NJ charges $5.15 for a mini blizzard, not $7.50 for the exact same item. read more

Fucking disaster never want to give them business again. First of all I ordered a cotton candy blizzard for my son and the cup was barely filled half way. Second of all the store closes at 9:30 and these incompetent employees told us we had to leave at 9:27. I stood at that counter waiting for 7 minutes before I got service. This is bullshit the place smelt like shit. A literal toilet. I don't know what was going on in this Dairy Queen tonight but it was bizarre. I heard chaos in the back as I stood and waited and eventually got asked to leave. They only served me after my son started to cry. Clean, quiet and friendly. No pets allowed. It's rare to find retail or restaurants that haven't turned into indoor dog parks. Sure it isn't cheap, it's Bernardsville. Will go back and support them for maintaining a clean, safe store. read more

$10 for a Medium size Blizzard! I have had them at other DQ's for half as much and it was poorly made compared to others. Don't forget that DQ products are NOT ICE CREAM - they are 'frozen dairy desert' like the cheap stuff at the grocery store. I really like this Dairy Queen location. The staff is always nice. My go to Blizzard dessert is usually the Oreo Royale. It includes fudge in the middle, along with lots of crushed up Oreos mixed in vanilla ice cream. It's delicious! My son also enjoys this same Blizzard. If you love chocolate as much as I do, this is a must! Their ice cream cakes are also pretty good. They usually have some on hand. You can also order them online. I believe you need to order 48 hours in advance. read more

My son had a concert at the high school in the area and he said he wanted a Blizzard as a treat when he was done..OK! We have some great local ice cream places where I live so we don't hit DQ very often, but can you really ever go wrong at DQ? Their ice cream is the epitome of consistency. We ordered the Guardian of the Galaxy, Reese's Cup and two Royal Ultimate Chocolate Blizzards...and as usual they were perfect. While the ice cream was delicious, the service and cleanliness could use some upgrades. Floors were dirty and the tables and chairs were all wobbly. Additionally, the girl behind the counter was less than thrilled to be there and was more interested in getting back to her texting and scrolling through her social media than taking care of the customers. There is a lot of competition in the food industry and poor service is a major reason people stop patronizing places. This place should consider some re-training on customer service and use of personal devices while working. read more

Really terrible customer service. After waiting in line for probably 10 minutes, I inquired about cleaning the blizzard machine/accessory since my daughter has a nut allergy. We have been to other DQs whose workers have been very helpful and accommodating. The worker at this store told us that she was too busy and did not have time to clean. Mind you, they were taking a really long time to fill each order, often walking back & forth slowly multiple times to get more soft serve for a single blizzard. We walked out very disappointed. After sitting in the car for about 10 minutes and letting the line dissipate, we went back in to ask if they can clean the machine/accessory. This time, we were told that there may be cross contamination since the ingredients are next to each other. We said that is fine and once again asked for the cleaning. The worker said she didn't feel comfortable and we should speak to her supervisor. We said sure. She went to the back for a few minutes, came back out and said that the supervisor is not here. At this point, we are getting really annoyed since the story has changed and we have now wasted 25 minutes at this store. We did eventually get our blizzards but I will never return to this terrible store. Save yourself the grief and visit another store. read more

Went there today with my husband and toddler. We ordered a large blizzard, a kids cup of vanilla ice cream, and a mini blizzard. The total came to $29. We politely explained that this seemed incorrect and were told we were wrong multiple times. We asked for a receipt, and there were additional items added on. They ended up refunding us $9 (seemed like it should have been more, but prices for a kids cup are not on the menu). Needless to say we felt they were trying to cheat us and won't be going back - there are too many other good, honest ice cream places in the area to deal with that. read more

Watch your pockets when you enter this place. The friendly service upsells every chance they get. There are Dairy Queen specials all the time and even boldly advertised in the store, but the staff won't give you the discount and is often overcharging! For example, they had a "buy one blizzard and get the other for $.99" and my two girls ordered the same blizzard and they charged me over $10. I complained and asked the woman who was trying to overcharge to be honest--"the sign for the special is right behind you!" Then as my girls sat to enjoy their ice cream blizzards, I noticed other kids with their grandmother having the same blizzard ice cream. I informed the grandmother about the staff tactics and she realized that she too was ripped off--she then complained and they gave her back her money. This is not the first time that this has happened to me and others in the neighborhood. As such, I write this to put the owner on notice of what the staff is doing and correct it; and if not, then the owner is inherently involved in the deception as well. And, if that is the case, then shame on you for taking advantage of the good and honest people in the neighborhood. read more

I took my three children here to get Blizzards and a cake. The quality of the products is great; however, the staff was horrible. There was an ad for a $.99 Blizzard when another full price one is ordered. I ordered 3, and was charged full price for each. My family loves DQ, and this store is by far the most expensive ($2 more per Blizzard than the average.) The cake was marked $29.99. She charged me $35. I questioned both errors. For the cake, she pulled a sheet from under the counter, and stated that she needed to charge me the $35. I argued respectfully that she needed to charge me the price it was marked - not the bait and switch "hidden" price. I also questioned the $.99 Blizzard and pointed to the posted ad. She apologized and offered me $4 in cash (I had charged the transaction on my cc), and she stated this was all she could do. This location will NEVER get my business again! read more

My wife and I kind of use this place as a last resort. We came here on Memorial Day when our regular ice cream place was closed (I guess for the holiday but who knows?). It's a Dairy Queen -- plain and simple. I didn't grow up close to one but everyone's pretty familiar with all the DQ commercials growing up. Fun Fact -- I've never actually had one of their famous Blizzards. I think the ice cream here is decent. I'm always amazed at great the cones look. Typically, I go with a strawberry sundae. Pretty good but not great. I'm always a little disappointed by the hard ice cream selection they have. The line also takes a pretty long time to move which can be annoying. I'm sure we'll be back but it's definitely not my first choice in the area. read more

This was my second time at this Dairy Queen location in Bernardsville and it was amazing. It's very small in there but the women that work there are very nice and follow through with their procedures. I see about two or three women working there and they work fast and efficiently. The ice cream is so amazing I always get the vanilla cone with the chocolate dip, the strawberry shake, or the blizzards. This is my absolute favorite place for ice cream. It's definitely one of the better places in town. Everything is always fresh and sooo yummy. Love the staff, who have been there for years.
