I have been here multiple times, inside smells awful and the floors are incredibly sticky. My order has never been right. I have done orders on the app and then been told the same items arent available without any alternatives. The burgers tend to be thrown together and I have gotten stomach aches from the food every time. Let me preface this with the young lady working the register (short hair, very sweet) was absolutely amazing, welcoming, and probably saved her "claiming to be the district manager" from having my Sunday thrown at his head!!! She notice I was taking my food Togo and asked me if I wanted a lid for my Sunday, which she promptly brought: Kudos! Here comes the problem, I met my friend who was watching my daughter for me there to do kid swap! They had already eaten and had been there for at least 45mins. My daughter wanted a blizzard so I ordered one with my meal and when it was time to go we realized that she would be taking it in my friends brand new car. So I asked if I could have the same Sunday lid they gave me to sit the cup in to keep the ice cream from melting onto my friends seat! It's Florida and 83* in February! The first employee young lady looked at us like we were crazy so then Mr. Johnathan Johnson pops around and says it's against protocol to give a Sunday lid for a blizzard. I explained we were not capping it but rather putting the cup inside to keep the car safe. He still argued with me and literally refused to give me a 2¢ piece of plastic! After spending $40 between both families I am flabbergasted that they couldn't part with a lid protocol or not! We were not trying to put a lid on the cup and regardless if we were, it should have been, yes ma'am, here you go!! He proceeded to argue with me, and told me he was not only the General Manager but the District Manager when I asked for a card, he gave me the one pictured! I don't know how this man is able to manage a restaurant breaking the number one hospitality rule (The Customer Is ALWAYS Right)! Not to mention he has his nasty long unkempt hair down working around food and beverages. When looking for ice cream and such, avoid the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill next to Applebees on St Rd 70. I recently had a birthday and I requested a Chocolate Reeses Peanut Butter Cup ice cream as my cake. My mother in law got it for me so we could celebrate as a family. At a quick glance, she saw that it looked different at the store than last years but when questioned they insisted that it was the right one so she took it to our home. When the time came, we opened the packaging further and found a mess. "Happy" was in caps, "Birthday" was lowercase, and my name was misspelled even though she had spelled it tor them twice. She was embarrassed after having been proud of her gift to me. When we finally cut into the cake, it had no reeses cups in it; just oreo cookie and chocolate. It was barely touched by our guests and I will admit to having been disappointed. A $30+ Cake should be right. When she spoke to them about all of the issues today, the self-proclaimed owners of the store were not only extremely rude, they were combative and yelled at her. They also called her a liar to her face. She is in her 70's! Really? Whatever happened to the customer is always right and being respectful? They finally refunded her money but their behavior and handling of this situation was ridiculous. UPDATE: I contacted the website for DQ as requested and about an hour ago received an extremely combative phone call from the ownership- the same ones that were horrible to her went for round two by contacting me to the point where I had to hang up. They tried calling again to further argue but I declined the call. Ridiculous. VERY disappointed. read more

Things can be difficult searching for ideas to treat yourself. Thankfully that day is not today. My little guy needed a picker-upper and Dairy Queen came through. The staff had smiles on their faces and we're ready to help. We ordered one oreo blizzard and a pretzel and a plain double cheeseburger. This is not fast food. Is that one of their commercials? I figured I could stop in an hour before another appointment and grab lunch. I forgot to bring a snack in me errands today. I figured I can easily get in and out in 1/2 hour. Not at all the case. At 1 o'clock on a Saturday one person working the register inside. One. Now this cannot all be blamed on poor staffing. The first up to order is a family of three: and let me clarify a Mom with a son and daughter about 12-14. I began to time it to pass the time. It took them close to 7 minutes to order. They were frozen by the offer of adding a small blizzard for a dollar. This evidently required a family summit which consisted mostly of blankly staring at each other with mouths agape. Dad must be the great decided. This when I started to time things and there was a full two minute delay on this question and we were only on the daughter's order. Eventually I got to order some chicken strips: I made the mistake of asking what sauces were available and was told "everything and gravy." Well, gross (re: gravy IMO) and if the list is too long to detail how about throwing it up on the menu board. We settled on ranch. I will say this was my first time inside. Any other time we've stopped in the drive thru for a blizzard on a oft night. Often we're told to wait and it certainly takes a good ten minutes to get thru, but again it's fast food but not really a fast food chain - you microwave a precooked burger in 30 seconds but it'll take longer to make the blizzards and sundaes. Four stars is because despite soft serve not being of interest to me the blizzard is hard to resist. The chicken strips were fine and certainly better than what you'd get at McDonald's or BK or Wendy's (although I've never actually had a chicken McNugget.). Also four starts because the people are always pleasant. One day, however, it would be great if someone would teach these folks as I was at my first fast food job all the way back in 1986 to give me my change coins first. Stop trying to balance coins on my receipt and dollar bills. read more

Poor service. Only a table of 4 and our table of two and we waited 20 minutes for our food. We went to the counter to inquire about our food and the very young inattentive staff indicated they were waiting on one thing . Unfortunately our other food items sat under the warmer and was cold when it arrived to our table ... which meant WE waited at the counter and brought the food to our table because we didn't trust the counter attendant to bring the food to our table. The staff were very young and inexperienced. The ceiling in the restaurant was very dirty and evidence that there was air conditioning leaks. The restaurant was very warm inside. When we went to the counter to order ice cream, they had no chocolate ice cream. The freezer was stocked full of boxes with no cakes on display. The staff mentioned the freezers weren't working in the back of the restaurant. Seats of the booth were torn and the table tops were dirty. Highly recommend a SKIP on this DQ. Ughhhh. Beware of all local dairy queens. My wife eats slow and we go there every sunday for a cone. I order a medium cone and when i order a small vanilla in a cup i get charged for a sunday price!! Week after week same thing. When i ask the person at the window why am i paying sunday price for a smaller ice cream they said that's the way we price it if you want it in a cup. I said ok put hot fudge, wipe cream and nuts on it then if i'm paying for it they said no can't do it sir. This is the same practice at the three D QUEENS in Bradenton. Its a blatant ripoff. Well, I assumed since this is a fairly new location and it is clean with friendly employees I would have a better experience but unfortunately it didn't happen. First, they had no chocolate ice cream available. Boooo! We live a very short drive from this location and were opting to take our order of 2 blizzards and a box of Dilly Bars home. On the drive home, one blizzard cup was completely punctured and started dripping all over. Then when a Dilly Bars was opened at home, it was obvious that they had previously melted and were refrozen that way....it was all smooshed, crumbled, and flat. :( For a $22 order, this just sucked. read more

Terrible customer service!! We frequent DQ for food and ice cream desserts and we usually have a good experience. Not tonight. We ordered two small blizzards at the drive thru window. We got our treats and parked in their lot to enjoy them. The blizzards were unusually watery. After a few spoonfuls we decided to return to the restaurant to have them remade. We went through the drive thru land again (dining room closed). We waited patiently in line and then described the problem to the evening's shift supervisor. Instead of fixing the problem, he blamed the passage of time for the watery blizzards and said we waited too long. He didn't seem to appreciate that a good part of the passage of time was parking and then waiting on the drive thru line. After some time, he begrudgingly said he would remake the blizzards but only at a size smaller to account for the amount we had already eaten. We explained that our reason for returning was that our first spoonfuls were unsatisfactory and therefore he should give us better, appropriately prepared blizzards at the original size we paid for. He refused and, in the process, implied that we were somehow trying to cheat DQ by having eaten some of the blizzards and wanting them replaced. Ugh. We're not those people. We simply want the product we pay for. We asked him to throw out the now liquid blizzards. He refused, citing health code violations. Maybe, but I'm pretty sure partially consumed food touched by consumers is thrown out in their restaurant every day. The conversation was frustrating. He treated us like criminals instead of customers, as if we were trying to cheat him out of two ounces of ice cream. The discussion escalated and I yelled, which I regret, but it was out of frustration with his terrible lack of customer service. He slammed the drive thru window shut. I left the watery blizzards in the drive thru for him to sort out, lost my $12 in the process, and will never return. Horrible experience! read more
