We politely asked if we could move to another available table, but she rudely told us we would have to wait another 20 minutes. A hostess should be trying to accommodate guests whenever possible, not dismiss them so disrespectfully. To make matters worse, the restrooms were in terrible condition. We had a nice experience overall at Cheesecake Factory in Sarasota. We were a party of 7 celebrating two birthdays together. The food was very tasty, fresh, and everyone enjoyed their meals and desserts. The service was excellent -- the staff was friendly, attentive, and worked hard to make our evening enjoyable. However, we reserved a table for 6:30 PM and only received it around 7:00 PM, which meant we had to wait about 30 minutes. We were seated right away and our server greeted us promptly. He did a good job of checking on us on and off throughout the meal. We started with the fried calamari, it came with a marinara sauce on the side. The batter was light and it was cooked just right. I got the chicken & shrimp with pineapple. We were seated quickly and the waiter was nice, 4 orders were placed but my food ended up being delayed due to a miscommunication with my order per the waiter. My wife and I had watched a pretty long Youtube video on the Cheesecake Factory and on a whim decided to make a 100 mile roundtrip to dine there. What a mistake. The bread brought out right away (nice) consisted of a pretty soft and unappealing dark bread, and inedible stale (toasted to conceal, I guess) french-type bread. I was afraid of cutting my gums on it. The butter was a perfectly square slab, and tasted like the cheapest butter you can get at a discount grocer. The opposite of the "fresh" incredients promised in the video. The waitress offered to find "fresher" bread but never did so. She was nice, but sort of smarmy, not "real" nice. We waited a long time for the food, even tho the video stated they have video screens in the back that flash red when an order exceeds 14 minutes to come out. My steak medallions, that I wanted medium-well, were beyond well. The 6 medallions were about the size of a half dollar and did not add up to more than 5-6 ounces, and were not cheap. My corn niblets were a sickly yellow, meaning were like the one ones you get in a TV dinner, and had a lousy texture. I love corn, but have done better in dive bars. My white rice was, well, white rice. I might have expected some seasoning. All I got was anonymous, tasteless green spots of something. To sum it all up, more of less medicore food, served at inflationary gouging prices and with shrinkflation portions sizes. I would have given 2.5 stars if I could. read more

They had a very large selection of cheesecakes, but we ultimated decided to go with a red velvet cheesecake and white chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake. I really don't like to leave negative reviews and I try at all costs not to. However, I do feel like I should warn others about my experience with the Cheesecake Factory at UTC. I actually ordered my meal through DoorDash. However-- the issue that I had does not pertain to the delivery. This review also will not comment or service or ambiance since I didn't dine in. I ordered steak medallions, which I've ordered a couple times before. Usually-- there are 4-5 medallions plated on top of a bed of mashed potatoes with a sauce and vegetables. When I opened my box-- there were 2 tiny pieces of steak on some mashed potatoes with asparagus where the top part had but cut off so only the stalk was left (why-- that's the good part?) Since this is an expensive meal-- I was not at all expecting 2 tiny pieces of steak (and they were chewy and tasted like they'd just been sitting). It looked like someone forgot to finish boxing the food and they just put half of the order in the container. Beware if you order Togo or via a food delivery service. Check your box before you leave the restaurant. I took a photo, however, I did so via the DoorDash app and it didn't end up saving to my phone once I submitted my problem. To be clear-- this isn't a DoorDash problem. This is a restaurant problem. I went back and read the reviews for this specific location on DoorDash and a lot of people experienced the same thing as me. So someone is really messing up or ripping people off. I wish I would've read the reviews on DD before I ordered. Disappointed because this was a treat for me (I hardly ever order an expensive meal). Please do better for all your patrons/customers. I came here for lunch with my mom. The service we received was great and we were seated relatively quickly. The ambiance of cheesecake is always good as expected. I ordered a strawberry lemonade as my Fri k which was delicious as usual. For appetizers we order the spinach and artichoke cheese dip which was delicious I just wish they had given me more chips initially as I had to request more. My mom ordered the avocado spring rolls. They were good I found that the sauce was sweet it brought a very interesting dynamic to the dish. Not exactly my favorite but it wasn't bad just different. For our entrees I ordered the Four cheese pasta which is my go to order at Cheesecake and my mom ordered her go to the Chinese Chicken Salad. I was told I had to move my stroller with my child in it to a completely separate area of the restaurant, yet the table next to us was allowed to keep their stroller -- with a dog inside of it. How is it fair that I had to remove my stroller with my baby, but someone else could keep theirs with a dog? It truly lives up to its name, and has a piece of cheesecake for pretty much everyone! Brief Summary: The Cheesecake Factory is a chain restaurant that is well known to many, especially fans of The Bug Bang Theory. It's not quite Ruth Chris Level but it's also a step up from Olive Garden. It's a happy medium that is sure to have you rolling yourself out after you stuff yourself with their famous pumpernickel bread, entrees, and of course, that big ole slice of cheesecake! Would I Recommend This Restaurant? Yes The Food: I've gotten a number of entrées here, and NONE of them have ever disappointed. The miso salmon has to be my personal favorite. If you're a salmon liver, look no further! I'm also in love with their pumpernickel bread. So good! They have a long cheesecake menu as well, so be sure to leave some room for desert, because they are BIG pieces! I'm on a personal mission to try every single piece of cheesecake on the menu. I'm about a quarter of the way through the list, so wish me luck! The only downside, and some might not even consider it a downside, is the menu size. It is HUGE! Pages long! While it does offer a nice variety yo choose from, if you're an indecisive person like myself, you may find yourself a tad bit overwhelmed as you're paging through the menu. My recommendation is to look at the menu before you go, so you can spend less time focusing on the menu, and more time focusing on the Cheesecake Factory Experience! They recently started taking reservations, and that has made me one happy camper! Location and Interior: The restaurant is located at the UTC mall. While it's a beautiful area, it's a pain to navigate through the traffic during peak times. This can be frustrating, but it's always worth it once you get your food. The restaurant is modern and has a nice clean feel to it. The atmosphere is perfect for a date, casual work dinner, or any other occasion really. Final Thoughts: While I have a general dislike of the menu size, The Cheesecake Factory checks all of the other boxes for me. My co-diner and I went for dinner on a weekday around sunset. We chose to sit outside as it was pretty busy inside. I always appreciate outdoor seating, though unfortunately you can smell people smoking from outside the mall entrance/vaping from inside. The service was great; our server was attentive, patient, and informative. There were gluten free options, meaning I could enjoy a proper meal. I got the cheeseburger with a gluten free bun, a side of fries, and a pineapple cherry limeade. The cheeseburger was the best I have had in a long time!!! I highly recommend the GF burger for anyone with food allergies. The drink was very nice also. The fries were unfortunately cold, but not bad. I would definitely consider the menu to be allergy, kid, and autism friendly.
