I have eaten at this store every weekday at lunch for the last 2 weeks maybe more, and everyday the burger and fries are colder than room temperature. It's maddening. I will say that a couple of those days the burgers were obviously microwaved, and yes, it's very easy to tell. This is actually the first time I've ever reviews anything, but I've been giving this location a chance occasionally for literally 10 years because I work on the other end of town. Not one time in 10 years have I had a satisfactory experience let alone a good one. I suppose this is a service issue, but for it to be so similarly bad for so long, I have to maybe believe it a policy and procedures issue that's handed down from management. There's something going on with the soft serve here. I've been 3 times in the last 2mos and each time after I've experienced borderline diarrhea as if I had just experienced food poisoning. Had this conversation with a neighbor who has experienced the same thing while eating soft serve. Please check your equipment and especially your soft serve machine. Maybe your sprinkles? This is a great Dairy Queen location. Having worked at DQ many years back, I'd say I'm probably a little critical of my expectations. My family and I have dined In before but usually hit the drive through on our way back from Briarstone Riding Academy. The food is always good and the employees are always friendly. In my youth I worked at a DQ for my first steady job. Now some 20+ years later I have seen real attentive fast food again. Prior to the renovation this place was bad. Long lines, slow service etc. That is the experience you are reading about below. Now the building had a new fresh modern interior. The staff is waiting for you to arrive. The food was hot organized and presented so you know it was made for you. I love the chicken strip basket. I always order extra gravy because they are half full or crusty or something, NOT here. While I waited for my lunch last week the drive through worker actually carried on a pleasant conversation while we waited. What was most noteworthy was that I observed her doing the same with the car in front of me. To sum it all up, this is a new place with new ownership and employees. I was needing an ice cream fix. They usually have their weekly specials posted on their sign. When I get a blizzard I always go for the chocolate, more is better. I ask for the blizzard to made with chocolate ice cream vs the vanilla. The only reason that I gave them a 3 star is I always ask them to not put a lid on my blizzard and they NEVER give napkins. This is seriously the BEST DQ my husband and myself have EVER been to. We recently moved from the city to Columbia and man when I say my husband has an obsession with this place I am not even kidding. I am surprised they do not know him by name lol This DQ is like nothing we have ever been to. Now with living in the city for the past 5 years we have seen our fair share of crappy fast food establishments with workers who hate their lives & jobs but this is not one of them. Everyone is super friendly and everything is served fast. They are always very welcoming and ask how you are when ordering which is something we are totally not accustomed to. You were lucky to be acknowledged without saying hello fifteen times. We actual resorted to going into the county for FF it was that bad. Terrible absolutely terrible. What has happened here. This was a great place back when the little older ladies worked here. Five people working, I should say standing around and only one can work the cash register. That person came out with the worst pair of blue jeans on I have seen. Holes down the front and they needed to be washed. He could not understand all I wanted was the sandwich, not the combo. We went thru the order twice and it was never correct. So, it's DQ. Same food, same blizzards, nothing really spectacular but perfect for the fam after a baseball game...or just because. To qualify the following review it should be noted that I love a good Blizzard and have been known to trek an hour from my place in Chicago to the nearest DQ in the city. But I've got a slight beef with the DQ here in Columbia. We have stopped here three times over the past year when in town visiting family ordering Blizzards each time. The servings sizes here are rather inconsistent with one Blizzard last week falling a full 1/2 inch short of the lid! Two of the others were brimming over and leaking out the side. While I can't complain or compliment much about the other food and interior service, the glaring inconsistency (not to mention I was the one shorted...) turns a fun trip for ice cream into jealousy and taunting. read more

I created a yelp just now because the service was that bad. They wouldn't listen, remade my ice cream and it was still wrong. Just wanted a blizzard without any chocolate syrup, or chocolate ice cream. (Basically just vanilla ice cream m&ms) they never made it right and now it's just going home in my trash. I understand this is a fast food chain, therefore, it won't be spectaclar always. But I do expect my food to NOT be handed to me cold as well as a pound of mustard on my burger, not once, but TWICE!! While receiving my food for the third time, it still has quite a bit of mustard on it, but it was finally warm, so I just wiped off the massive amount of mustard. I also believe if a food place messes up the order, especially more then once, the customer should receive something, especially during their CUSTOMER APPRECIATION WEEK!! Terrible! Since when does DQ serve ice milk? It was like the junk you used to get at Ponderosa when I was a kid. At least at Ponderosa you could actually serve yourself a nice sized portion and get an entire buffet for the price of the dip cone my wife and I had tonight. Awful...I wish I took a picture of what was served to us, it was ridiculous. Almost $7 bucks for 2 dip cones and one of them looked deformed and half the size. When I asked why the one was so much smaller my response was "I'm not sure...lol, it's just the way it was made and someone else made it...lol". If you want real ice cream served by someone over 16 and actually get what you pay for I would recommend going anywhere else...anywhere! I would've got more for my money if I got a snickers ice cream bar from the gas station. This is the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been to. It's consistently out of items that no ice cream shop should be out of--like whipped cream and chocolate topping. If you happen to order a twist cone you will receive a cone that has a pile of vanilla and a pile of chocolate on top of each other. They hire rude high school kids who don't know what they're doing. The place is run down and needs updating (and a good cleaning). I just ordered a chocolate covered waffle cone turtle sundae and received vanilla ice cream in a burned waffle cone with nuts on it. No whipped cream, no chocolate covered cone, and no caramel. If you need an ice cream fix in Columbia, prepare to be disappointed. read more

if i could give this place a zero i would...i waited in the drive thru line for almost 25 minutes. i ordered the crispy chicken salad and they gave me a crispy chicken sandwich, then 10 minutes later after all of the workers were just standing around doing nothing and talking to eachother they hand me a salad without any dressing and also no sundae or soda . then i taste the soda after driving away and it's not even the right kind. it's hilarious how stupid these kids that were working were . save some time and go somewhere else! read more

Was there about 4:30 Thursday, won't be back, food was way to salty, fries tasted like they were coated in salt, 4 piece chicken strip dinner may have equaled 2 chicken strips. Fries were dumped in the parking lot & when I got home I could not believe the amount of salt that had spilled out onto my seat. Looks like they may have salted the food in the box.
