Just happened to be in town and was looking for a good place to eat. We found it! I had the steak sandwich which was done to perfection. Wife had the French Dip! She ordered chips I ordered fries. Delicious isn't a good enough word to describe the flavors. Reid was our server and he was excellent. He knew just when to check on us to make sure we had what we needed. **Columbia location** The food is good but the bar service is horrible; I'm sorry but someone has to say it. It's my (and others) suggestion that Tori should work on her smile and customer service. Each time she's waited on us and/or worked the bar while we were there she was very unfriendly.... especially towards the women and even on extremely slow days it takes her FOREVER (15-20 minutes) to pour a simple glass of wine. Reifschneider's is always a good option in Columbia! The food is always on point. I highly recommend the Cajun chicken pasta & the Buffalo chicken wrap, add onion straws. Both can't be beat! Absolutely the best. The southwest egg rolls are also pretty good! My only issue with Reif's is that no matter how long I have waited to pick up a carry out order, it has never been ready on time and I end up waiting 10-20 minutes beyond the time told to me when I place the order. I simply wish they would state a longer time and I could wait to go versus standing at the bar waiting. Overall, I highly recommend dining in and enjoying the great food! Excellent pizza beer place! The steak fondue isn't really, but, the steak and cheese combo is a must have! We order at least two every time we go there.! I would have to say it's a thing! Great for a quick lunch, or an evening, where you don't feel like getting dressed up, don't feel like cooking, and want to enjoy really good food and a pleasant atmosphere. This is a place that I wanted to support during the pandemic but I was disappointed because they appeared to ignore much of the pandemic regulations. When I went in to pickup my carry out order there were 6 people there around a dining table having drinks. (They were not all employees) Not one person in the place had a mask covering their face and they teased me about mine. The waitress did not have gloves on. The week before when my husband went to pick up lunch from them they brought food out so he didn't have to go in. When I called to say I was there to pick up food it rang forever but they were inside having drinks so didn't answer the phone so I had to go in. Ventured to Columbia from the StL side of the river to have dinner with some work friends. First time here. We made a reservation just in case they were busy. Call was easy and staff was very friendly. We had a party of 8 and all ordered a variety of different items from the menu. I shared the French onion soup with a friend and it was really good. A thick beef broth with a touch of sweetness full of caramelized onions and croutons topped with cheese and fried onions. (I did miss the slices of bread though- next time I'll order a side of bread to dip). I also got the stuffed jalapeños- they came out hot and crispy. The bacon was fully cooked as was the jalapeño. It was soft and delicious filled with creamy cream cheese with just a bit of heat. I also order their sweet & spicy wings. They are really good- a great blend of sweetness and heat. My husband got the chicken artichoke portobello pasta Alfredo. It was really good. A large portion filled with the ingredients. They didn't skimp on anything. The pasta came with a salad too which is a nice touch and often overlooked. Our waiter was fabulous and just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

It was a ridiculously large serving that could easily feed 2+.They said it was pretty good. The salad, hey, trying to get in some form of healthy food here, was a wilty mess and was overdressed. It went uneaten. The bonus of hair in the egg rolls the other CV ouple ordered was a bit offputting. They too went uneaten. We were in town for a wedding. Reifschnrider's was on the list of recommended places to visit while we waited for the reception. We were met by a very friendly staff. Our server Cody was awesome, attentive, and worked the room like a highly skilled professional!! We had a little bit of everything. We highly recommend the mini corn dogs, and portobello mushrooms. Both are hand breaded and fried to crispy golden perfection. We also had quesadillas, spinach artichoke dip, and pretzel bites. Everything was delicious and served in a timely manner. The place was busy for a Saturday afternoon, and all of the staff were working hard taking good care of all their guests. My wife and I have been here several times both for lunch and dinner. We enjoy sitting outside on the patio during the summer. Inside can be a little noisy when they're busy. I recommend any of the burgers. I haven't had one yet that I didn't like. They're pretty big so we have split them in the past, especially if we get an appetizer. The nachos are a meal by themselves. The sweet potato fries are by far my favorite side, but our son recommends the regular fries. I have recommended this spot to several friends who have tried the pizza and they've said it's really good as well. I've still yet to try it myself. We were staying in an Airbnb within walking distance. The crab and lobster boil we originally planned on (at another restaurant) was sold out. It was still really hot out, so we settled on apps and a salad instead of something heavier. Reifschneider's really fit the bill. Luckily for us, the sellout steered us to our truly best option. The Cranberry Pecan Spinach Salad, a pound of Fiery Bleu Wings, and Brick Oven Garlic Cheese Bread were delicious! We can't wait to return to try out the rest of the extensive menu. I have only had appetizers here but they were both excellent. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were suggested by our waiter and they did not disappoint. They were big, fresh and stuffed to the max! We even took what was left over and ate them later in cold and they were just as excellent! I've also had the spicy shrimp and it was mediocre to say the least. I expected a lot more but the flavor just wasn't there. I do want to come back and try an actual entree they all looked pretty good but I was getting ready to leave to go out of the country so I was saving my carbs and sugar for vacation! Been here two times and enjoyed it both times. I have had a fish plate and a patty melt, and both were very good. Their fries, slaw, and other sides are good too. My friend has had French onion soup, a BLT, and a pasta dish I can't remember the name of. But she enjoyed them all. It is surprising, considering the breadth of the menu, that everything seems to come out of the kitchen well-cooked. I am always impressed with the staff--it doesn't hurt that they are heavy on pretty servers--and how busy they seem. Always moving, always clearing away an empty dish or glass, always checking to make sure everything is good. I skipped one star because Reifschneider's, like almost every restaurant I have tried in southern Illinois, seems unable to make a decent salad. I moved here a few years ago from St. Louis, and though I have found several nice little eateries, the one thing that seems a constant is that they simply cannot make a good salad. Damn, if this double steak burger isn't perfect I don't know what is. Reifschneider's has been and continues to be a place with a great draft and bottle beer selection. Seems like every two weeks it's updated so there's always a reason to go back. Taps rotating with IPAs, Stouts, and lagers / ales from some of the best local and regional craft breweries make for a great selection. And if oh just want a Golden Draft Light they have that too. The food is great and on point nearly every time. If it's not your servers are there to make sure you're happy. Nice people run it and work there. The food has drastically declined. We attempted to go back for lunch with friends yesterday after having a not so pleasant experience a year ago, and it was just as bad. Great restaurant/bar experience in terms of food and service. The bar selection is also very good. The acoustics are really bad when it's crowded though, very hard to hear. I frequented them for about 5 years and always had good experiences with the staff. But I finally made the decision to take my business elsewhere. The owner would frequently walk around and talk with his buddies. Probably 10 times he passed us and we would say hello, and not one time did he acknowledge us. It became our joke to see if we could get him to say anything. We just didn't fit into the clicks, I guess, so we stopped going. Lots of other restaurants in town, so all good. read more

This is the 3rd time we have tried this place and all 3 times they have failed us in service. Today we waited for at least 40 minutes before I had to come in to see they wrote our phone # down wrong. So many other parties had been sat. No one bothered to come outside and look for us where we were waiting patiently. To make it worse a couple that got sat after us got waited on before us and we waited another 10 more minutes to get our drink order taken. It is also super loud inside. The food is OK but the service leaves much, much to be desired. If you have all the time in the world then give it a try.
