Absolutely disgusting to look at, can't ever go back.

So.... This is fast food, this is what you expect, we have all tried it. But I won't ever go here again, why? Because they sell mediocre food for twice what it cost anywhere else. These prices are sit down restaurant prices and they are obscene. You wanna charge this? Clean the place, serve the tables but you would still come up short. In other words don't come here.

Do not go here I got a chicken strip basket and a small blizzard and it cost me $18 I can go to the wolf and get a full meal for that much

Trapped behind five cars at the WORST DQ EVER for THIRTY MINUTES.

Incompetence on a scale usually reserved for the mentally challenged. The worst run restaurant ever? Maybe. We made the mistake of pulling into the drive thru lane and thirty minutes later STILL hadn't had our order taken. Let me reiterate: Thirty. Minutes. Later. By the time the nincompoop came onto the broken speaker for our order we declined and told him we were just going to leave to which he GIGGLED, "God bless!" Then we waited behind the ONE truck that had been waiting at the window the whole time another TEN MINUTES. By the time we gratefully left this disaster there was a line of five cars behind us (check out the picture) and we'd wasted FORTY MINUTES in a fast food drive thru line. This place is an utter disaster run by chimpanzees who literally DNGAF and think it's hilarious to waste your time. It needs visit from Gordon Ramsey with a flame thrower and the franchise owner put in stocks on Mt. Rushmore Road. Don't believe me? READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. If we had we wouldn't have bothered pulling in. Don't you make the same mistake. Avoid this place like the plague. Hopefully it'll go under and a hobo with a coffee can fire will take over... at least you'll get your food faster.

Service is trash. We waited in the lobby for 20 min just to place an order. And didn't receive the food into 15 min later!

Said no cheese, extra pickle, got extra cheese, no pickles. Food was ok though. Good stop on the way back thru the mountains.

Small DQ and there was quite a line for drive thru, but the order taker was amazing and we had no issues with our ice cream order!

Not a bad DQ. Service was a little slow, but it was busy. Food was good. Only problem is flies sometimes outnumber customers.

Stumbled on to this gem of Custer nearly two years ago when moving from Michigan to Arizona. I…read morewanted to see the Black Hills and do all the things so I included Custer on my itinerary. Absolutely loved Skogen! We are on a road trip back to Michigan with a weekend stop in Deadwood and decided to add a stop in Custer this time around as well and, gratefully and thankfully, we were able to secure a reservation. Again, Skogen was AMAZING! We sat in the outside patio area which was cozy and comfortable. Because I have acclimated to 115 degrees in Arizona summers, the 79 degree temperature was a bit chilly so I grabbed a super warm blanket that was supplied and they offered to turn on the heaters. I know it sounds ridiculous to most people who travel to South Dakota. Honestly, Arizona ruins you for everywhere hahahhah. Anyway, I thought it was super kind for them to make me comfortable! It was greatly appreciated! Service: Our server, Curtis, was fantastic! He catered to our every whim! He was personable and friendly and we had a very nice conversation. He helped me decide the best entree between two of my choices and it sure didn't disappoint! Excellent service! Food: The hubby and I shared the lobster steam buns were phenomenal. I mean, if you're reading this and you're going to Skogen, don't hesitate. Just order them. I wasn't a fan of Hollandaise prior to trying theirs, so I asked for it on the side. I literally could have licked the Hollandaise sauce. It was light, airy and absolutely scrumptious! The lobster was delicious and delicate and perfect! We both said we could have eaten the entire four buns by ourselves--and not shared! They were incredible! I had the halibut with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. It was absolutely delicious! The hubby had the duck confit. The white bean preparation with the smoked bacon was amazing but the duck---what magic have you created? It was tender with crispy skin and so moist! Dessert was shared and consisted of the chocolate cheesecake with pistachio ice cream. Unbelievable! So delicious! We had the honor of meeting the owner, Joseph, and shared a wonderful conversation with him. We loved his passion and enthusiasm for his craft, his love of people and we never felt like he was rushing to get back to doing what he needed to do. We truly felt like we were guests at his own home dinner table, sharing stories. It was really a lovely experience from start to finish. We just loved Skogen and look forward to coming back any and every time we manage to swing back into this wonderful town. We have really fallen in love with Custer!

Popular place with a wide variety of choices for dinner--friendly and attentive service (if you…read moredon't see your server, ask another--they clearly work well as a team) and interesting decor. Starter and food, drinks, etc., are brought promptly to the table. This is exceptional in a highly popular tourist area. The food is good but could use a little improvement--the grilled mahi-mahi was good, but a little on the dry sauce and definitely needed a sauce. A couple of the dishes did have sauces, but fish is why most Creole restaurants like Brennan's will serve a sauce on the side, or a topping with butter such as Trout Almandine. It doesn't have to be a fancy sauce--the option of good ol' tartar sauce works. The grilled vegetables also needed a little more butter and seasoning. Carrots are good on their own; broccoli and cauliflower need a little cheese or butter and some seasoning to be loved. The IPA (Long John) was excellent. The beer cheese dip and soft pretzels were to die for; the chardonnay was passable. A great choice for dining in a VERY heavily traveled tourist destination. Get there early--it starts filling up fast and all the restaurants around Mount Rushmore close at 9.

Beer is pretty good! I enjoyed a flight and we ordered the pretzels + beer cheese and mozzarella…read moresticks and both were just what we were looking for. They brought our puppy a bowl of water and a bone to chew on which was very nice. The patio is spacious and the ambiance is fun. Good spot!
