The flavors were as expected and the quality slightly superior to other fast food restaurants that serve a powdery ice cream cones (since the ice cream is made with dry milk, or milk powder). Another plus: the ice cream machine is not broken, which is the norm at other franchises. Finally, they can dip the cone on chocolate, something that is not commonly available. Today I was having a lazy no hurry day and when I got a 50% off coupon for my favorite peanut butter parfait, I went out of my way to go to Dairy Queen. I ordered a minimal cheeseburger with fries and a soft drink at 11:45 AM. My food was brought to me and when I took a bite out of my burger there was no meat. I was served a hamburger bun with ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheese. At the time I placed my order I was the only patron in the restaurant. How can you screw this up? Then to add insult to injury when I sat back down at my table, see a cockroach. They're not enough words in the human language to describe how much I hate cockroaches. I'd have to agree with what most people are saying here. The customer service is not great. This place is run entirely by Indians. There are a ton of people in the kitchen and only one person up front taking orders. This seems to result in the food somehow still taking a long time to come out, and customers being ignored by the cashier while he runs food to tables and leaves them standing there not able to order. This location is horrible! They don't turn on the AC and the employees are sweaty and miserable as well as customers. If you ask them to turn the air on, they lie and say it is. This DQ is the worst one I have been to and we only visited through the drive through. We asked for a burger just substitute the patty with grilled chicken. We had to ask twice, as the girl was not understanding, and then a man got on the intercom and said "ok, I'll ring you up a grilled chicken sandwich and you want to add all that stuff?" Umm sure, whatever it takes just to have the sandwich that way. I think they charged our group for the extra toppings.... the sandwich didn't come how we ordered it. They also gave us a hard time when we asked for one extra ranch, after we paid, saying it would be extra... never have we had this issue. We also asked for a large water, given a small cup for a child. They seemed to also be rushing us. I understand it's "fast food" but I've been to Dairy Queen locations and have had outstanding service. The fact that we didn't get the correct food AND they couldn't spare .49 for the ranch.... we spent about $50 on 4 meals. I'm a big fan of Dairy Queen. I really like their Mushroom Swiss burger and their fish sandwich. The fries are pretty good too. The best part of Dairy Queen is their Blizzard ice cream treats, sinfully delicious. My favorites are the Midnight Truffle (when they have it), and the Choco Brownie Extreme. Speaking of blizzards, this location is so cold inside that I felt like I was sitting in a blizzard. It's my only complaint about this location, other than it's so popular right now that parking can be an issue and they have lines. It's a new location, so I'm assuming it will not be this busy forever? And maybe save some electric by not freezing the guests? This is truly a great place to take the kids for lunch or dinner, they will love the ice cream treats, so many to pick from. I just can't deal with the drive thru anymore because I have to repeat my order at least twice in the drive thru and I can't understand what they are saying 99% of the time. These people are soooo cheap! I have been here more than 5 times, we just moved to Debary, they are my local. I am a Blizzard expert. I bought Blizzards all over the country. These people are the stingiest with their ice cream, and topping. These guys never fill the cup to the top, usually an inch or more under it. I am guessing they are saving about 15-20%. I had an abbreviated lunch and decided to go here for a quick meal. The line was short, but it took several minutes to place my order. I proceeded to order the cheeseburger meal deal and was told by the cashier it wasn't available this week ( even though it was listed on the menu) but I could order the #9 or #11 and pay additional for the ice cream. The owner then said the meal deal might be offered again next week. This was very poor customer service and I would've left had I not been short on time.
