First time trying Dave's hot chicken and I wasn't a fan. The staff was very nice but it took a very long time to get my food and they forgot 2 of my sauces so I had to loop around the drive thru. The main reason I wasn't a fan was the amount of oil used , especially in the mozz sticks. I took one bite and there was oil all over my shirt and car. The decor at this restaurant was so fun!!!! Very funky with all the graffiti! Service here was ON POINT! Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They really anticipated your needs. The tables were clean and plenty of places to sit. I got the one slider with fries, and I don't know if I ever had a juicier chicken! My friend and I went through the drive thru and it was a great experience. It was easy to communicate and our order was taken immediately when we pulled up. We both ordered a #2, medium, which comes with two sliders and fries. It did take a few minutes for our food to come out after we paid, but it was quick enough. We were impressed that our food was still fresh and hot when we arrived home 20 minutes later. Medium is a great heat level because it adds flavor to the chicken and it's not spicy at all. You know what - I'm kind of disappointed. I was really hoping the hype on TV, social media, and even Drizzy promoting his own partnership was up to expectations... but it's not. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was dead. No one in the parking lot or inside. That's the reason why we took so long to try this place - because it was never as busy as like Chick Fil A or McDonalds. We ordered 2 #1's (2 tenders w fries), and a side of mac n cheese. The "meals" do not come with drinks, so that was extra. For just our two meals, it came out to $36. The seasoning on the chicken tenders was weird... not sure what I was expecting. The dipping sauce was delicious though. The fries were cold and the mac n cheese was just room temperature. Both meals came with just a slice of grocery store bought bread. Pickles were on the bottom of the container, so the pickle juice was all over. Wish they put the pickles in a separate container. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're used to eating Popeyes or Raising Cane's. The workers were really nice though! read more

I've been wanting to try to place since they opened. It's always popped in the local Lake Mary area with the building art plus I have a weak spot for not only chicken tenders but spicy food! Used the online order process which is super easy placed my order and within five minutes it was up. Food was served hot and ready to go! The young lady at the counter was super kind and asked if I needed any additional sauces. I got one tender in medium and a side of fries. The pickles that are included are delicious I would eat just an entire jar of these. The tender was warm and tender although I wish the medium spice level was more it still had a good flavor with the Dave's sauce. French fries were fresh and well a fry so who doesn't love those! I ordered a vanilla milk shake with Oreo and a chocolate milkshake with MnMs. I like how they have a tender box and a fries box. I almost went with that. But instead I wanted everyone to have a chance to try the slider because it comes with slaw. Drive through service was good but they could barely hear me so I had to yell and repeat myself so many times. When I got to the window, they could hear me better. Love this place! We have been to just The lake mary Blvd location and have only done take out (FYI) and we're happy each time. The mild and medium for me, but the hubby likes the hot. I took every ones advice and got honey and dave's sauce. I picked the medium and hot sliders. I really enjoyed the medium but there was honestly no spice to it at all. The hot one for me was ridiculously hot it opened my chest I could breathe better and I am sure my blood flow to my heart improved. The fries were great taste much better than they looked. I was not sure about the kale slaw because I don't like slaw at all but it was really good and I like that they gave a generous amount of pickles. I have been wanting to try this place for a while and now they finally have one in Lake Mary! The restaurant is pretty cool looking with all the different graffiti and art on the walls. The inside is pretty loud, almost like a cafeteria. They just opened not too long ago so expect to wait patiently for your meal. The line inside got pretty long during Lunch. I ordered the Mild Slider and Tender combo with fries. If you are concerned this isn't enough food for you don't be, the slider is basically a regular chicken sandwich and the tenders are pretty big. They serve a good portion of fries with the meal as well. The fries were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The quality of the chicken here is the best out of all fast food places I have tried. The chicken is very juicy and tender. I like the seasoning/breading on the chicken but I will say Mild in my opinion has absolutely no heat to it. My boyfriend got the Medium and I tried it and once again no heat to it. This is the only thing I feel the chicken lacked was spiciness. However maybe we just needed to order a higher spice level. I preferred the Slider over the Tender, there's slaw on the slider which goes great with the chicken. The Mac and Cheese here was good but I personally wouldn't order it again. It taste a bit like Velveeta to me. I definitely will be coming back here! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good chicken sandwiches or tenders. Came out to Dave's Hot Chicken to try it, having recently moved to the area. It was OK. We may come here again if wanting something a little different from Chick-fil-A. Our comparison would be to Chicken Fire in downtown Orlando. We definitely prefer Chicken Fire, for both the spicy and the no spice versions fried chicken. However, Dave's fries were also very good. In comparison to chicken fire, Dave's just didn't have that wow factor. The chicken was crunchy and well cooked, but on my no spice slider, it did not have the flavor of some better fried chicken. My husband's medium spice level had good flavor and was not super hot. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. They were certainly the highlight of the experience. From a price standpoint, I expect more Chick-fil-A than Dave's in our future. However, cannot call the overall experience disappointing. read more

Service was good and Plenty of workers present. Place was clean from what I saw so no complaints there. Ordered a few different spice levels to test out ranging from medium to reaper. Surprisingly the reaper wasn't as spicy as the extra hot in my opinion. But everyone's spice level is different so please start off low if you cannot tolerate spice. I also found that the lower spice levels had more flavor compared to the hotter ones. My only wish is that they added more of their sauce and kale salad to the slider. It would've made the flavors balance out better. Overall, This is just a one time visit for me since the flavors weren't a wow factor for me to come back. Yeah we had to wait a bit, they were SLAMMED for their *first* day. The staff was extremely courteous & apologetic - personally I would rather wait than be fed raw chicken, crazy right? My husband had the mild sliders (way bigger than what I would consider sliders) with fries, I had the Reaper slider with fries, we shared the creamiest mac & cheese I've ever had from a fast foot joint, love whatever spice they add to it for an extra kick. The chicken was great quality, cooked well, great crisp. As far as spices, it is HOT chicken & having to sign a waiver for the Reaper level only made me want it more. 10/10 will be back. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service here. We made a large order and scheduled a pick it up. The order was 20 minutes late and then when we got home, we learned that five orders of fries was missing. Long story short I had to chase down the manager to call me back, then go to the store for a refund. A refund was given but no comp from the manager for all the Inconveniences. The dry rub they use not a fan of. Chicken just tasted weird in general. The Mac & cheese was good I give them that. Fries also very good. But for almost 26$ you'd expect better chicken.
