*****This DQ in Goldendale Washington has the best employee attitudes, friendly, happy, knowledgeable, and a few I've witnessed go beyond 100%, like working after shift all alone with the cook when relief didn't show up. Orders are always quick at the drive up, done correctly not missing items, and your blizzard is always served upside down I prefer Goldendale 20mile drive over The Dalles is a 30 mile drive but I go there for drugs and some Groc . The food is pretty good, I've never had an issue with over- or under-cooked food. I did once have an item missing from a to-go order, but we called and let them know and they gave us a free sandwich the next time we stopped in. Staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of indoor seating. Sometimes there can be long waits, which is expected of a drive-thru restaurant right off a major highway. read more

Stopped by Monday Afternoon and ordered two cheeseburger combos to go. It was high 90's . Young girl made Sundaes first and handed to us. We new by time cheeseburger we're ready , Sundaes would be melted. A mess was on counter . Clerk was upset that she might have to work later in week . She just wipe mess on floor and walked off to argue with manager about having to work later that week. Two parts of menu board were burnt out. I used bathrooms and needless to day they were bad. The door handle was sticky. The counter had a hand made sign that they do not offer DQ coupons. When we got our combos and left the fries never even came 1/2 up in small french fry container. I just got the best blizzard of my life!!!!!!! I always get a couple of modifications to my blizzards, and honestly this was the best BY FAR I've ever seen made. The fellah who made it was super nice and I went from being half asleep from a long drive to being the world's most hyped passenger as a direct result of this delicious ice cream. This was the worst meal ever. First off you order a #8 and is comes out a Double cheeseburger when it is pulled pork on their menu. They argue about the number 8 on the register is double cheeseburger and they don't have a pulled pork on it. I told them as she rang it up that the board says pulled pork, she said I will fix it. Still came out a Double cheeseburger. They let us keep it but it was 2 burned patties and a too long of a microwaved bun that turned hard. It came with old cold fries. When we got the pulled pork it was dry with almost no sauce and the bun was over microwaved again. Worst experience ever!! read more

I hate to give one star reviews...in fact I almost never do. I don't know if we just hit this place on an off day or what, but this was not my most favorite DQ experience ever. In it's defense, this DQ shares it's space with a Subway chain and 76 station as well, so overall I am addressing the entire building experience and not just DQ. First off, I realize it's summer time but what on God's green earth do they have buried here that resulted in so many flies everywhere! It was sooo disgusting, and I am not a typically squeamish person. There were flies everywhere, in the dining room, in people's foods, running into your face and crawling all over the disgusting bathrooms. The bathrooms in particular were horrible. There are two unisex bathrooms and they clearly had not been cleaned in some time. People had been urinating on the seats, and floor and in between that and the flies I felt my skin was crawling and I couldn't wait to get out of the building. As far as the actual product they sell, We had got 2 dipped ice cream cones from the DQ, and it was the strangest thing, the ice cream had a peculiar carbonation aftertaste. The only positive thing I have to say is that the gentleman helping us was very friendly and nice. Sooo not ever coming back! We'll stop at the Chevron up the road next time. read more

EXPECTATIONS! You need to know what to expect when you stop at this DQ location. 1. It will be very busy. If you have a more than 2 people in your party I can almost guarantee that someone's order will be delayed. 2. The Unisex Bathrooms will have long lines. Plan your bathroom strategy. 3. The food will be hot and tasty when you finally get it. 4. I would say that generally the staff is usually friendly however, there was an incident that took place just before we placed our orders. It created a negative vibe that carried over. By the way, my wife chose to select the Subway Sandwich which is part of this complex and had a delightful experience with the minor exception of Subway being out avocados which they heavily promote in all of their advertising. The level of service I received by an employee here was above and beyond. My son and I sought to have a banana split. Unfortunately they were out of bananas. It was nearing 4 o'clock, and the shift of one employee would be ending. While my son and I ate our meal, this employee would drive to the grocery store after their shift ended. Just stopped in for gas and a bite with the wife, easily the worst DQ experience I've ever had. The wife and I got the $5 lunch and I'm pretty sure to cut costs they used the kids size patties on them. Not exactly happy, but then we had the ice cream. This place was beyond filthy. There were flies on everything, the workers looked worn down and tired, perhaps overworked?. I did not witness a single person wash their hands, despite touching every surface in the place and serving 15 customers before me. This DQ shares a building with a gas station / convenience store and a Subway. Had I known it would take them over 35 minutes to make a cheeseburger and a few chicken strips, I guess I would have opted for the Subway. The food itself was pretty horrible. I don't go to DQ often, but I can tell you the ones in town here are much higher quality than this place. Unfortunately, you are in Goldendale, and the options are limited on a long road trip. The standards were just very very poor, the workers were slow, incompetent, and had apparently no idea of what sanitation is. How does this skip the view of the health department? I mean, I know its a little ways out from anything, but seriously, could we get an inspection please? This is the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been too. Unfortunately, with the restaurant choices in Goldendale as severely limited as it is, I feel like we are kind of held hostage by not having much choice to go here to eat when we need to go out. Why do I think it is so bad? Well it is not really the quality of the food, because frankly, it tastes like Dairy Queen food. And if you choose to go, you know pretty much what your food is going to taste like. The reason I think it is so bad is a couple of reasons. 1. There is NEVER enough staff to handle the level of traffic that this restaurant gets on a daily basis. The weekends are the worst when there is the added influx of people traveling on the highway which runs right outside the Dairy Queen door. If there is a game at the local high school, there is added traffic from there. This restaurant is pretty much the first food source you see if you are heading south from Toppenish (a 50+ mile trip). Usually there are 2 maybe 3 people combined running the front and cooking the food. It doesn't matter what time of day you come to this restaurant, you are going to expect at least a 15 minute wait for this "fast food". 2. It takes FOREVER for this location to get any of the new items advertised on the TV, billboards, or even inside the store. I remember when the Apple Tart Ala Mode was advertised in the store. I got pretty excited to try it, simply because apple pie is one of my favorites. It took a YEAR before they got the equipment needed to make this dessert, and that is with the advertising of "Coming Soon" up on their menu boards. As I pulled up into the drive thru tonight, knowing there would be a long wait, the cashier warned me it would be at LEAST 15 minutes for me to get my food. He talked like he was expecting me to leave. It took me 28 minutes and 18 seconds to get my order of 5 grill burger meals. This was with no special changes to the burgers. read more

Horrible service! They were busy, so a ridiculous wait for my food wasn't unexpected. But the problem was that it was a chaotic cluster, and apparently the Cook hasn't been given training on quality and customer service. After getting back on the highway we noticed that my salad was missing dressing and when we went back he said they were out.. why not tell me that before and offer me another option? Then after leaving a second time, we noticed my daughter's kids meal was horrible. We'd ordered a plain dry burger, and instead the Cook put everything possible on it, including sauce that normally doesn't come on it. What a Dental Nightmare!! Ordered a $5 buck lunch and 1st and only bite cracked and broke my back lower molar with a bone or other type of hard fragment inside. Took burger and spit out bite to Manager who said to save my dental bills and I would be compensated..But the buck was passed to the D Q Owner's who passed to their insurance company, who passed to the corporate headquarters, who passed to the meat packing plant, who will I guess pass to their insurance company and its been going on for 2 months!! I am paying out of pocket for any work or medicines to keep my mouth healthy and the treatment plan is going to cost more than I can afford to have fixed, (which Dairy Queen management said would be happening). I am in tremendous pain daily, have major headaches and mouth/jaw issues and NO ONE in the Dairy Queen world seems to care. Maybe its fate for me to be the first review for this D Q to let everyone know that they might suffer a broken tooth from faulty ground hamburger meat. There's no warning sign behind the counter and they would just refund your money and give you the brush off, its not their fault, they have to buy their meat from corporate...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...I want justice and someone to step up and do what they said they would do NOW!!! Not in another 6 weeks or months. They can wait to be reimbursed by their insurance company, not me...I need help here!! Doesn't anyone care anymore what kind of food is going out of their kitchens? And where is the returned hamburger that the manger so carefully wrapped up for inspection by corporate or so he told me?? They did NOTHING!! So now I wait and see what this review will result in, having my tooth fixed or the standby of NOTHING!! I'm not sure if the health dept. knows this place exists but they should. Not one clean table to eat at, everything was filthy, and I'm not sure the bathrooms had been cleaned anytime in the last week. I ended up throwing my food away when my co-worker I was traveling with told me the girl who was cooking in the back was eating while she was making my food. Had we been a little bit more familiar with the area we would have went to the mcdonalds up the road. Negative stars!!!! It doesn't taste like dairy queen. The burgers are nasty! The ice cream machines break down like every summer! What kind of dairy queen doesn't have ice cream???! What I think is hilarious is the reviews for the last 4 years all say the same things and still nothing has changed. This is the SLOWEST fast food restaurant I've ever seen. You can be the only person in the drive thru with 2 cars in the parking lot and you'll wait several minutes to even order. Then when you finally get your food it's disgusting. The fries have been sitting so they're barely warm and rubbery, and the meat, be it hamburger or chicken, is so over cooked it's tough and dry. Don't get me wrong, I like my meat fully cooked through but not to the point I'm basically eating a charcoal patty. The lettuce is usually brown and wilted as well. I've also had the same experience some have described with the off tasting ice cream. It has a metallic sour taste to it and when we mentioned it we were told they had just cleaned the machine. Mmhmm. And as far as the employees go I think I've encounter maybe 2 that weren't dumb, rude or slobby. read more
