We walked in and got served very quickly. The lady that served us was very nice. We are seated and then we got our food very quickly.\n We ordered the Pacific COD, a bacon burger and a regular cheeseburger. All were just okay, but we also ordered 2 shakes which were on the spot. They were very good and tasted homemade. But you had to have a code to go to the bathroom, and once you walked in the bathroom was not very clean, very crammed in packed.\nBut was very good experience.I recommend this place to everyone. read more

Burgerville - The Dalles, OR I got the number six burger, spicy beef chili and a vanilla shake. The burger is grass fed which you can tell but I'm not a big fan of the mayonnaise. I should've asked for no mayonnaise and had ketchup and mustard or something. With that said, the burger was quite good. It came with cheddar cheese, pickle and onion and mayo. The chili was great. I asked because it's called "spicy chili" how spicy it is, and the guy behind the counter offered to give me a sample which I really appreciated. I asked to add raw chopped onion and they did that no problem. I also asked if they have crackers and they said no. It actually wasn't that spicy which I'm glad for because I can't do spicy. There are beans meat cheese and sour cream. Milkshake was pretty good but not amazing. They also have a turkey burger and a plant based burger for those of you who don't eat beef. First of all, the asparagus truly was fresh, lightly breaded with gluten-free breading and fried. So delicious! The same can be said for the strawberry shortcake, which was fresh with creamy whipped cream and a not too soggy shortcake. The chicken was your normal run of the mill chicken strips from it fast food restaurant, but just fine. It really was the two seasonal food items that stole the show. The staff was very helpful in navigating the menu with food allergens and our food came out within just a few minutes of ordering. I had never heard of Burgerville and this was just a pull of on this exit and let's see what they have kind of whim and it was so surprising. The halibut fish sandwich was pretty disappointing. The filet was very small - what you might expect in a children's meal. Prices are well above average/typical for 'fast food' type of restaurant. We stopped here the other day on our way to Yakima to meet up with a dog breeder to get yet another Pomeranian puppy so I can have a Pom Squad. I was starving and was happy that there was a Burgerville around. I don't care for many fast food joints, but there are some I will stop at and this is one of them. They have quality tasting food. This place was not too packed when we got here, it was around noon on a Sunday. Tried this place because we were visiting The Dalles. We were hoping it would be good. Cute interior. Cashier waiting to take our order. (I mention that because we went to a couple fast food joints in Oregon this trip and couldn't even get anyone to take our order) They were busy. It makes no sense. The food is awful. The hamburger patty was the thickness of a quarter (maybe). I know that in and out burgers are 2oz and it was 1/2 the size of that. My husband had fish and chips. We pulled into The Dalles absolutely starving. Checked into our hotel room and noticed a long line of cars across the street for food. Figured this would be a great place to walk over and get a delicious Burger. Seeing as though this seems like a burger town, at least one burger joint on every block. Anyway, the service was great and prompt menu was very easy to read. Chose to get the Walla Walla onion cheeseburger which is I guess a seasonal product. So it was like a meal deal, it came with enormous onion rings and a milkshake. Over $16! For that price I'm expecting a damn good meal! For starters the raspberry milkshake was very subpar and ended up throwing it away. The onion rings came with a garlic sauce on the side and that was quite delicious. Now the burger... The description on the menu seem like it was going to be Savory and delicious and moist served on a toasted sourdough bun. It was however very dry I thought that my burger was going to be dripping beautiful yummy juices from the onions that were sauteed in this amazing concoction that they advertised but no. No extra drippy greasy yummy delicious Burger juice. :-( thankfully I won't be back in to The Dalles so I won't have to come to this restaurant again. read more

This is just like any other Burgerville: it's boring, bland (much like this review) fast food. You're supposed to feel better about it because it's *local*, and *organic*, and...you get the idea. I've been in the joint on and off for years. It's close to da hiway is mostly why. I've had some good burgers here but often as not they are not good ... like last weeks Tillamook Cheeseburger. Burgerville is a NW institution! The food is locally sourced and has been for the 20 years I have been coming here. The people care about their jobs and are genuinely kind. The breakfast menu is very disappointing. I ordered bisquits and gravy. The gravy was supposed to have sausage in it, but there was little to none. There was lot of pepper, however, and this made it look like there might be very tiny bits of sausage. But , no, it was pepper. The gravy had little flavor except for the pepper. And the biscuit, it was tough and could not be cut with the plastic fork or knife. Finally, had to pull it apart with my fingers to get it to break up into bite sized pieces. Even pulling it into bite sized pieces was difficult because of the toughness of the bisquit. I was extremely disappointed. Won't buy it again. And, the breakfast menu is very limited. Taking into consideration the quality of the other food available at Burgerville, I expected the breakfast items to be very good. What a disappointment! Honestly very upset I didn't ask for my money back. I was so excited and looking forward to Burgerville.. Anyways, I should of took pictures but I asked for a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger.. and when I got it.. there was no sauce at all, just a cheeseburger with lettuce and it was NOT wrapped at all just thrown in between two pieces of lettuce. I went inside and complained and a man that I believe was a manager was there and I said I asked for this to be wrapped and his exact words were "I'm not sure how I can get that any more wrapped" and I just said whatever because I didn't want to make a scene and i told him about the sauce and he just hands me sauce to put on myself. I'd expect him to take my burger and have the workers put it on.. doesn't even seem to care just hands it off to me.. let's just say I will never go back to this location. From the really cool country music to the newsletter about local ingredients to the waffle fries, this place feels like home. The burgers are decent and are locally sourced. I've been to many Burgervilles and this one is just OK. It's not one of the cleanest Burgervilles. SoOoO... I ordered the Tillamook Cheeseburger with a pumpkin Froyo shake. Service was fine, but unfortunately the burger was just kinda blah. It wasn't HOT off the grill. It was just warm. The bun was also smooshed....if that's even a word.... and they are skimpy with the lettuce. It was like they were rushed and just slapped the burger together, sat on it to keep it warm and served up to me since I was the next lucky one in line. I hate paying almost $5.00 for slappy-slop burger. If I wanted a burger like that, I could just go to Charburger. The Shake was also a sad story. You could tell they just poured a bunch pumpkin goo on the bottom of the cup and dumped ice cream on top. Oppps..they forgot to stir it. I guess that was my job. Stopped for an order of fish and chips. Ordered the 4 piece, was charged $9.50 for the 3 piece plus $$3.40 for the 4th piece. The piece of fish were SMALL. They don't understand the concept of fish AND chips, they are supposed to COME with fries but we were charged an additional $2.49 for a "regular" fry so the four small pieces of fish alone were $12.90!! . Ordered a chocolate shake, got a SMALL one and was changed $4.39, the price for a LARGE shake. and $2.29 for a SMALL soda. Total bill was $22.07, ridiculous for what the meal consisted of. The place was chaotic and dirty, the floors sticky, the bathroom dirty, the fish over fried. I first discovered Burgerville on a road trip through the northwest over a year ago, and was excited to see another restaurant in The Dalles (sounds like "pals") Oregon. The interior decoration is evocative of a 50s diner, albeit with a more modern fast-food restaurant layout. They offer a full selection of malts, shakes, and smoothies, which they blend on the spot. They use Tillamook cheese, local beef, and all their paper products brag about using post-consumer recycled paper. I had a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, and a berry smoothie, all excellent.
