4/16/26 We took 16 residents from Swan Pointe HOA to Dairy Queen in Middletown.Bill Bond is the owner and is a great supporter of Middletown. Karen was a great Manager, and had the cutest personality. Kaiden took the orders at the window and was very good and quick at doing it. We had a long row of tables and plenty of room to eat. There were so many choices: Chicken Strips, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Stack Burgers, Bacon Cheese Deluxe Signature Stack burgers, Flamethrower Signature Stack burgers, Original Chicken Strip Sandwiches, 3 pc Chicken Strip Meal Deal, 4 or 6 100% All Tender Loin White Meat Chicken Strips, Alaskan Fish, Salads, Pretzel Sticks with Queso Sauce, Cheese Curds, Fries, and Onion Rings. Oh, and they have Kids' Meals. Many of us had some kind of ice cream..... you'll be so amazed at how many types of treats they have. Mint Crunchie ...cookie treat, blizzard treat, cookie dip side, and cookie parfait. 16 different Blizzards that always get turned upside down. They come in mini, small, medium, or large. And last but not least, Classic Treats. Cones, Dipped Cones, Sundaes, Parfaits, Buster Bars, Non Dairy Dilly Bars, Banana Splits, Malts, 6 Pack Dilly Bars, and the ultimate....Cupfection. I don't usually come to Dairy Queen for a whole lot, but rolled through here this morning for a drive-through breakfast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy breakfast meal with coffee. The order box ordering was easy and the pick up window was fast and efficient and pleasant. I enjoyed the hash brown first- hot and crispy. The biscuits and gravy is two biscuits with sausage gravy over the top and it is packaged well and hot and delicious! Their coffee is hot, but I just don't like the taste of it, just a step over very hot brown water, and I forgot that this morning, other than that, it was a good experience. read more

We love DQ especially this location. Owners & employees are so nice. We have come here often with our kids as they grew up & still frequently as adults even with their dogs for a pup cone. You just cannot beat a Blizzard! read more

This location was much better than my previous, very fast service and the staff was nice.

It's a Dairy Queen so food wise you know what to expect, but the staff here are exceptionally nice and helpful. While we were waiting in line to place our order we watched as an employee offered to help a customer to their car with their order. Our interactions with the employees also proved positive as all the employees with interacted with were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and nice as well. read more

My review is only for the large chocolate soft serve cone. This is the DQ on PCH in Huntington Beach. Whenever I'm in the area I drive thru and get a large chocolate soft serve cone. Its large not skimpy like cones at McDonald's. $5 but it always is served on a large cone. I can drive and eat at the same time. read more

If you want 500+ grams of fat in one fell swoop this is the place to go. I love coming here more than I show because the DQ Blizzard is the best dessert ever assembled but it's literally the guiltiest pleasure known to man. This DQ is our go to and it's never disappointed, from walking in to sitting down, gazing upon the delight of sugar you're about to devour the experience is top notch. I typically get the Royal Choco Brownie Blizzard, it has the best ingredients and tastiest composition of any Blizzard and I have to quickly say, in my opinion. I don't only visit for the Blizzard though, which is also no bueno. I visit for their amazing and very tasty chicken tender basket, the 6 piece to be exact. It comes with 6 perfect golden brown tenders, perfectly seasoned and cooked French fries, a slice of bread again sliced in the middle, and a small tub of gravy. It's all too good to be... well... good for you. But that's all right. The staff is always friendly but to the point and always get the order right, no matter if we are dining in or going through their drive thru. As I write this review I'm reminded again of the joy I get in indulging here and how my diet can so very easily be torn apart. Until the next cheat day, DQ I leave you. See you soon. read more

Not all DQ's are created equal! DQ used to be such a special experience when I was growing up. Back then, a Dilly Bar was a rare treat when Dad would take us out in the rattle-waggon on a warm Sunday evening for something sweet and cool. In those days, DQ was more of an edge-of-town "ice cream stand" than a full-blown restaurant with everything from Blizzards and cakes to salads. People went there for the Dilly Bar, Buster Bar, soft-serve cones and shakes... long before the Blizzard was anything other than a snow storm. With its business model changing to compete with others like McDonnald's and Burger King, Dairy Queen started offering more "meal" items and in much wider varieties. When a burger or hot dog might have been a complimentary item to all their sweet, chilly offerings back in the 60's and 70's, today, the then much-loved Dilly Bar is no longer what most people come in for. Heck, I can't remember the last time I heard someone order a Dilly Bar much less eat one (myself included!). I think now they are mostly sold by the box our of their glass-door freezers (like a grocery store) rather than singles over the counter. I guess you can still just buy a single Dilly Bar... I sure hope so anyway. Today, a full-blown semi-fast food restaurant offering many meal options (including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, salads, breakfast and even BBQ), the only "dairy" item most people identify DQ with anymore is the Blizzard. Sure, it's a great product. It was literally a revolution in fast-food desert offerings when it was introduced back in the 80's and I love my Heath Blizzard for sure! And if it weren't for the Blizzard coming along when it did, I'm not sure DQ would have survived. Now a corporate behemoth wholly owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, DQ is no longer a small road-side ice cream stand on the outskirts of town. DQ's are everywhere and they are competing with every other major fast-food joint for your hard-earned bucks with most of them, from what I've seen, cutting every corner they can- from hiring people who obviously do not want to be there (or serve you) to allowing their dining rooms, bathrooms and parking lots to go uncleaned for who knows how long. I've even been to some locations just to order a Blizzard only to be told they were out of soft-serve! How does a DAIRY Queen run out of DAIRY!?!? Maybe somebody just didn't feel like working too much that day. I'm making a very general observation here and I'm assuming that not all DQ's are underwhelming all of the time or even some of the time. BUT there is ONE standout DQ in the Louisville area that I can say for certain is consistently excellent ALL OF THE TIME and that is the Middletown location off of Shelbyville Rd. I believe that MOST DQ's are corporate stores and not franchises but I'm pretty sure this location IS a franchise owned and operated by a local family. They are very friendly, attentive, efficient and accurate. They really DO care that you came into their location and it shows in their attitude and attention to detail. The food is always hot and fresh and the dining room and restrooms are always clean and orderly. Though it IS a DQ, it feels more like a neighborhood diner than just another cookie-cutter location of a massive corporate fast-food chain. They even bring your food to your table so you don't have to wait at the counter! There is a corporate DQ right down the street from me but the only DQ I go to in the Louisville area is the Middletown DQ which is about 15 miles away. I'd also rather go here for a burger than many of the so-called "gourmet" burger joints in this town. It is THAT good. And even though they likely have to conform to corporate standards regarding food prep, quantity, cleanliness, service etc., they do so better than ANY DQ that I've ever been in. Maybe this location is what ALL DQ's are supposed to be like and the rest are just barely cutting it? Maybe they are operating ABOVE corporate standards and guide lines? Could be. Whatever the case, they are certainly what all other DQ's should aspire to. One caveat: Because this is a franchise location, they do NOT honor corporate coupons. It is well worth paying the list prices anyway considering how good this DQ is compared to the corporate stores. If you are only going through the drive-thru for a Blizzard, just about any DQ will do (if they've not run out of soft-serve). But if you want the best DQ dining experience with the best DQ food, THIS location is it. They have managed to keep or bring back some of that charm I remember as a youngster, before they got big and impersonal. The only shame is that with so many other DQ's being tolerable at best, people unfamiliar with this location may lump it into the same category. Hopefully, this review will encourage some people who have been turned off by other DQ's to visit the Middletown location. Great food, great people, great memories! I don't eat fast food that often and Dairy Queen is Dairy Queen. I drive through for coffee occasionally and the line moves fast and the service is speedy! This DQ stands out because they are extremely friendly. It's refreshing because it's not as common as it should be. I recommend that you stop on in for breakfast, a Blizzard, or other DQ eats! read more

They are always nice when we go in... but Saturday they went above and beyond... my daughter wrapped up her retainer in a napkin and left it on the table. I came back an hour later and of course it was thrown away. The staff let me go through the trash, gave me gloves and I found the retainer! The food is better then any other fast food around, the people are awesome and kind. The restaurant is clean, and the food again.... is delicious!! Quick and cheap. Two great words. The drive thru is fast and easy. Great place to go when you need something in a hurry. It is clean inside which is a huge plus. This is one of the only locations I go to. You can get an entire meal for under $6 which is also a great thing about DQ.
