Recently purchased around 9 or 10 items from Dairy Queen in Oxford and we threw all of them away except the pretzel sticks (we did throw the cheese that came with them away though). Then we went somewhere else and purchased more food. The people taking our order and money at drive through were rude. My family and I were so excited to hear that Dairy Queen was now in Oxford and didn't have to travel to Tupelo or Olive Branch. The first time I went my family and I ordered some burgers and fries and cheese curds and onions rings. The burgers were not good, I wish I thought to take a picture of that. The burgers taste like some rubber that was grilled and to top that, it was sloppy with scraps for toppings. Not good at all and had to wait what it seemed like forever in line and then pay for your food and told to pull up and wait some more. But We were like ok, they're still new and thought we would try them again on another day. So we went back, ordered the same thing and it was actually good and we were impressed and was like this is what I remember and agreed we would go back and would get ice cream the next time. Of course we still had to wait over 20 minutes and pull up and wait some more again. But we didn't mind cause the food was good and fresh. So here's our last visit, we sat in line again for like forever. Got to the intercom all for the guy taking our order to be rude and give the attitude that he didn't want to be there. My family and I sat in line again for like forever and all to get there and pay and have to wait another to 10 minutes for melted ice cream and toppings and etc all over the containers and a smashed up lid and spoon all dirty. And to top that wanting to do something small and special our girls on National Daughter Day and to be presented with this type of service and presentation, is not how I wanted it to be. Overworked employees. The drive through took forever at 9pm on a Tuesday.. with only two cars.. but when I talked to the lady at the window the poor thing says she's worked a 14 and half hour shift since three other workers didn't show up for the day. They were understaffed the entire day. She was friendly and there wasn't anything seriously wrong with the food; what is seriously wrong though is how the ownership expects just a few employees to work from dark to dark and cover everybody else's shifts. I love Dairy Queen. I have loved it since I was a preschooler. Always had a good product @ a good price. However, the Oxford Dairy Queen is not in the same Universe with the Dairy Queens in my past. The staff is consistently allowing inferior products go out the door & through the window. The first time I ordered a chocolate malt, the staff did not know what that was & I had to explain it to them. The second time I got a malt that wasn't mixed well & it was "gritty", like it had been mixed with a tablespoon of sand. The 3rd malt i purchased from the Oxford Dairy Queen actually had shredded bits of paper in it....as if they had taken the paper wrapping of my straw & tried to blend it into my drink. On my final trip to this establishment, I ordered the Chicken Strip Basket. Chicken was good. Gravy was excellent. But, the toast was burned (see picture). I am a person who believes in second & third (& even more chances), but there is a limit to everyone's patience. It seems like the staff has no respect for the customer, the product, their work, or themselves. Do yourself a favor & avoid the disappointment. Avoid the Oxford Dairy Queen completely. read more

Wow just recently opened and already bad reviews, well here's another one. Went here today and first wanted a iced water apparently you have to get bottled water. That's fine, then go to pay lady was rude.... we were told to move forward, we are the only people here we wait, we wait, one person came got his food we are still waiting she comes out and I said I am sorry I forgot to ask.for sweetener shes not happy....she leaves and NEVER comes back.... Went in finally to get Sweetner 4 people (Working) there and not one could come out to give us the sweetner my iced tea was almost black and tasted nasty. So after all that i thew it away anyways....So the question is let this restaurant become another crappy place in oxford or fire the crap employees and have a decent place? Went to get a late night snack. Checked a couple of websites and they said DQ closed at either 10:30 or 11:00pm. We got there right after 10pm and there was a young lady in the parking lot dancing and waving her arms yelling that they were closed. It was very unprofessional to say the least. If DQ had to close early there were so many other ways to do that professionally. With the speed of Chick-Fil-A, and the taste of home grilled cooking, the new Dairy Queen excels in all accounts. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and the management is outstanding! Ari, the manager while we visited, treated us like family, inviting us in to order and eat on the patio instead of wait in the long line, even though the long line moved pretty quickly. Came here tonight after a long day of working. Ordered a large chocolate malt and a large Coke. Seems simple right? The lady who took my order was super nice and super cheerful. Her name was Cameron and she was the only person that I had felt was actually nice to me there. I then pulled up to the second window where I had my Coke handed to me aggressively and I waited for my chocolate malt when I was told it would just come with whip cream. There was no whip cream on it nor was it a malt it was a shake. The lady who handed it to me also put wet napkins covered in something on my drink and an extra straw that I didn't need. Then exclaimed you're welcome and slammed the window in my face. I was not mean or rude to anybody there. I was just coming there after a long day of work.
