I went into DQ about to weeks ago and had a question about a meal so i asked for the manager and the manager Bradly came. The amount of shit he gave me equalled just about the same amount as the hair down his back. i now then realize the shit was coming out his mouth. He was very rude and had a unpleasant scenet that smelled of must mixed dirty peanut oil. I went to this Dairy Queen with some friends and we got helped right away and our food/drinks were as to be expected from a Dairy Queen. Staff was nice and helpful with our questions with the menu. Overall, pretty average experience for a Dairy Queen. read more

I understand being short staff but the problem here is how they are running things. It was terrible. They all kept working on the same things. The lady in the kitchen is yelling yes yelling no more order my board is full. Well maybe if you focused on kitchen instead of everything else you'd be fine. Nobody taking orders or handing out food when it was complete. And the best part was when I asked someone to get my burger that that had been done for a long time he said he was too busy so I asked if I could grab he told me to go get it. The location couldn't get any more convenient right off the highway but I should have kept driving. I ordered a double cheeseburger meal, Diet Coke and a small Oreo blizzard. The associate who helped me was meh. Not overly friendly, not rude just there. After she took my money at the drive they window she went to the microwave and removed a sandwich wrapped in the paper wrapper. It was my sandwich. I guess I didn't think they would grill up my patties on the spot but I never expected my burger to be microwaved. The associate apologized for the wait on the fries and gave me my blizzard. The blizzard was amazing by the way. The highlight of the meal. She gave me my microwave sandwich and fries in a bag and I left. My fries were hot. Very hot and fresh but lacked any salt and tasted like old fryer oil. My microwaved sandwich was oddly hot. The pickles, ketchup and mustard were all hot too - crazy hot in some places and Luke warm in others. I guess that's what you get from a microwaved sandwich. I wasn't impressed. The double cheeseburger has always been my favorite at DQ but it just wasn't right. Not the right flavor or texture. The fries and burger were a total miss. The customer service non memorable. Due to Covid their dining room is closed. I'm diabetic and needed to eat right away. So I called them while sitting in the parking lot for help. I had to call twice before someone would answer. The gal who answered said I'd have to use the drive up service. I told her I couldn't because I'm driving a motorhome. She told me to wait til the last car was through the line and walk up to the window. Is there ever a last car? Is it really that safe to be walking and standing between vehicles in a drive thru line? I asked her if I could place my order over the phone so when I went to the window, my order would be ready. She said NO, I'm sorry we don't take orders over the phone. The workers are not customer service trained. The gentleman that took the order was fine but the fat kitchen workers threw the food at him for the customers. The kitchen staff also was heard swearing and giving customers dirty looks. I don't know what kind of an establishment you are trying to run but out of business is where it should be. Let me explain how bad I was treated 5 different times by the manager who was runny the headset, if she even is truly the manager. I do not use yelp until now. Five times, I was shown the worse customer service that I have ever experienced in my 55 years on this planet. I managed businesses for part of that time but was truly shocked. Everyone in my car was also offended on several of the 5 visits. This person should not be a manger, much less an employee. When I confronted her that only emboldened her. Instead of getting an apology the attitude got worse. I see why there are so many poor reviews on this location. Makes me wonder if owner really cares and that's why she acts the way she does. I think she knows she can get away with it. I live in Peosta and am embarrassed that she is representing out community. I was told the owner contact info is on-line, which was one way of not letting me talk to someone. Wish they had a 1/8 star option. The service here is amongst the worse of any fast food restaurant. I used to think it was due to Covid and then gave the benefit of the doubt it was due to staff shortage. It is now to a point I will drive to Dubuque to not have to deal with this Dairy Queen. While ordering ice cream inside last month, the on duty manager was screaming at an employee named Ali to the point I was uncomfortable and Ali went to the bathroom I'm assuming to cry. About a week later, a friend visiting grabbed ice cream here and commented on how unprofessional this place is and that a manager was screaming at an employee named Ali. Bless Ali for continuing to work here if this is how she is treated. I stopped ordering food besides ice cream as the buns are consistently stale to the point you need a liquid to swallow what you chewed and the fries are always cold. Today, I ordered a kids vanilla dish for a child. I guess I assumed that if Dairy Queen offer a kids size cone that they offer a kids size dish as well. Total seemed high and I noticed I was charged for a small sundae (this is a plain vanilla dish of ice cream!) When I asked if a kids dish was an option whoever the window attendant asked in the back yelled rudely that a small sundae is the dish. Needless to say, I will go to another Dairy Queen in the future which is unfortunate as this is so close to home and we have so few options for food in Peosta. read more

Very clean, very new looking but the service was so slow! We went at 5pm on a Thursday and we're the only customers. It still took 10 minutes to get our food then another 10 to get three free cones for our kids! She did apologize for the wait, but definitely not a "fast" food stop! read more
