Great service, great prices and great food! Generous portions and friendly staff. Very tidy and clean. We wish that we had a place like this in our small town.

The diner across from the kwik stop haven't been across this stretch of US20 in years west of Dubuque. Usually it's north and south.

#22/2022 A small little quaint local diner Very big with locals not too much with truck drivers it's a little bit of a walk from a truck stop but the people that stay next door at the motel frequent quite a bit too Classic Midwestern Fair Hours close early Monday and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The other days of the week they're open from 7:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. basically Wednesday through Sunday. Located at the freeway approximately 12 miles west of Dubuque Iowa there's a lot of industry directly across the way in the business park. This is a small little area I walked into the cafe sat down I was greeted promptly ordered some coffee. Looked at the breakfast part of the menu saw corned beef hash I asked was it canned she said it sure was the way I like it. So I decided I'd have the full corned beef hash with two eggs over medium flopped on top of course I'll throw the ketchup on and mash it all together and enjoy. I have hash browns and they have home fries I went with the home fries sliced potatoes on the grill and wheat toast. Food came out fairly quickly it was just the way I liked it corned beef hash was really good they give you some nice portions for the money and Tylenol a good value to me and although it's not a place I would be coming to if I'm in the area all the time because it is a little bit of a hoof especially for me. But if I ended up sleeping at this little truck stop I might walk on over again. But on this particular day I just wanted to sit down breakfast and I got it.

I went to the Red Roof Diner in Peosta near Sundown Mountain with some old friends to reunite. Our waitress seemed to be in a bad mood by her attitude in her responses to our questions about the menu, but she provided quick and efficient service. I ordered a Greek Salad and a friend of mine ordered a House Club Deluxe Sandwich with Bacon. Both of our meals tasted good. Everyone in our group said they were pleased with their meals and service.

    This was $5.95!

A great diner and very busy. We all walked in and they had a party of 30 in there! It was no matter, because we were served just like the place was all ours. I did a one egg breakfast with hash and rye toast, and of course I needed help to finish it. My Hubby tried to go lite with a breakfast sandwich, because he knew he might have to help me. But when they offered griddled onions and cheese on his hash browns he could not refuse, lol. Needless to say, neither one of us ate until a late dinner. Very nice servers and a great place.

    At least it's cheap

Mediocre at best. Prices reflect the quality for sure. An old fast food restaurant turns into diner . Place was half full . Servers running around not knowing which direction to go. Sadly this could be better . We ordered a garbage basket , salad & soup to start. They told us there was no more soup but then proceeded to bring to guest arriving after us ? My wife got the chicken breast , me the quarter chicken . Again price met even though mine was way over cooked flavor . Not sure what the chicken breast , mashed potatoes were a joke .was swimming in . Sadly due to poor service and quality I will not be back .

    Soup of the day.

Nice surprise. Plenty of home cooking. I had the patty melt and fries. Plenty of other options available like liver meatloaf chicken breast spaghetti tenderloin chicken and cod. The patty melt was great. Grilled onions and a slice of melted cheese added to a great lunch sandwich.

Navy bean soup. Hardy and filling, with actual meat. A little on the salty side, but very good for the price and area

This sandwich shop and coffee bar has a fun industrial and vintage charm, and plenty of seating throughout the location. The location was also well lit and airy, and I loved the exposed brick walls and fun eclectic frames along the walls. The service was also excellent and the girls who worked here were so sweet and helpful! My boyfriend and I both got the reuben and our friend got a chicken wrap. Both of them said they enjoyed their meals, and I thought my reuben was excellent and much preferred to typical road trip fast food stops. It was genuinely the perfect stop midway from Nebraska to Chicago, and a nice opportunity to stretch our legs and have a refreshing and filling meal. I would definitely recommend to try Big Bill's!

Recently, some close friends, my wife and I drove over to Dubuque for a weekend getaway. We love…read morefarm-to-table restaurant concepts and in-city dining, so we thought Convivium would be an ideal spot to have breakfast on our first day in town. As great as this place could (if not should) be, it will never reach it's potential with the lousy customer service that we experienced. Why do I say this? Read on Yelper. We arrive for breakfast around 9:45 am on Saturday. There was a little bit of a line, which is to be expected at any well known breakfast/brunch establishment, right? The young lady working the register asked if we wanted to pick a table outside, handed us four menus and told us that someone would be out there to help us shortly. We sat at an empty, yet still dirty with plates from the last customers, table that was in the shade. Annnnnd we waited. As staff came out to attend to other customers sitting in the same patio area, the four of us sat there waiting for water, coffee, a smile... heck even an acknowledgement that we were there would have been nice. Seriously, if the Invisible Man was real and sitting at the table, he probably would have had a better chance of being noticed by the servers working that morning. We ended up busing our own table because no staff would bother to do it - I'm very serious. Nearly 20 minutes pass. As another couple comes into the patio, sits down and gets near immediate service with their drink orders, we had it! We entered the restaurant to find out what the problem is for such terrible service?!? The tall, head service member (did not catch her name) had an attitude for sure with her question "Did one of us seat you?" and we answered that "No, your host teammate told us to grab the table." She damn near rolled her eyes. Finally, lightening struck... someone showed up to give us water, wipe the table, and take our order. But don't get your hopes up that this was the end of bad service. Regrettably, it was not. We waited nearly 25 more minutes to get our order of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. Tough order for a breakfast place, don'tcha think? Out comes the food... without utensils to eat with. 4 mins of watching your food get cold motivated us to good inside and get our own utensils. As we did, the head member walks out with the items. Now - let's shift to the one positive part of the experience and that of course is the food. To show you that I am a reasonable reviewer, I will tell you that the meal was very tasty, cooked to order, and satisfying (especially when you're starving!). When I said at the beginning that this place can be great, the food is the reason why. After a Friday night of fun, a place like Convivium is just what you want for a Saturday breakfast before an afternoon of NCAA College Football - you know what I mean? But until management decides to hold the staff accountable for this terrible customer service, Convivium will be closed in less than 5 years (my prediction). Read some of the other reviews... we share the same general opinion. And this is coming from someone that values restaurant concepts like this one. Get it together before its too late, Convivium.

My dad, sister, and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. My sister enjoyed her chicken pesto panini but Dad found his pulled pork to be dry and bland. I ordered broccoli cheese soup with sourdough toast. The soup was absolutely disgusting. It was so thick, overcooked, and tasted like it had been on a back burner for three days straight. Not to be gross, but it looked like congealed dog vomit. When I mentioned to our server, she was very condescending. I would like to try again and hopefully it was just a tough day.

My son had the meat lovers skillet and it was a generous portion. My Reuben was delicious but I noticed it was sliced deli meat-like. It came with a side salad or soup. I decided to pass on it as I'm used to which blue cheese and didn't want to risk getting sick. The coffee was a fabulous light roast, not at all bitter. I was able to enjoy it black. The prices seemed a bit high for my sandwich. The bill for 2 lunches, coffee and a soda came to roughly $35. I saw they do charge 3% furnishing a credit card so I just left cash on the table. The food was okay but honestly, we could have eaten at Texas Roadhouse (early menu) for about the same price and I would have had leftovers for the next day. Even though the food was okay, we probably won't be back due to the value of the meal.
