First DQ of the 2023 year. Needed to get my chocolate chip blizzard (made with dip chocolate) and a touch of malt. Always get the mini because it's the perfect size. The food was good the restaurant was a dump. Many tables were unclean there was no ice in the ice machine and the service was slow.

I'm going to give a good review to boost the average. Since the Apple Valley DQ closed, I went to this one on my way home from Rochester. I bought the small valentines cake that serves 3 people. My son whose birthday was yesterday is coming home on Friday. Also bought butterscotch dilly bars. These are not a great value anymore and aren't as thick as before. Shrinkflation. Also DQ got rid of grape in their Mr misty freezes. This was my favorite that I would get once a year as a treat. The cashier was nice. This DQ is sort of hidden behind McDonalds. Yeah kinda sorta terrible. Sat at the drive-thru for like 5 minutes with no one showing up. Went inside and saw there were like 5 people there so it wasn't due to understaffing, they just didn't notice/ didn't care for some reason. Still took about a minute or two of us standing and waiting for someone to take our order while I could see that they weren't all doing something. Customer service was meh, which is normally fine but like they really did seem to not be present in the moment at all. Worst DQ I have been to. Avoid this place as a lunch option, even with adequate staff the can't seem to keep up. I got the lunch special and asked for my blizzard to be made right away because I knew I would have to wait forever if I didn't. They forgot and I had to wait forever. This place is a filthy, hot mess. I have never been in a DQ that is so poorly run and managed. The pic I posted made me nauseated..it was so incredibly filthy. There were flies EVERYWHERE! I went through the drive thru here tonight around 4PM and they were really backed up. I felt a little annoyed, but as I pulled up to order the young man working apologized for the wait and informed me that there were only two people working and they were running behind. The two of them were working their butts off and the one I spoke to still made the time to be friendly and professional with me. Our order came out neatly in a drink carrier. If it were possible to give zero stars I would. They always take forever whether there are zero customers or 20. They always act bothered as if they're the customer and we should be asking them how we can help them. I always get a chicken wrap without ranch. I confirm the order, multiple times even, only for them to react annoyed that I would question them. The worst is when you forget to check your order prior to leaving only to making it all the way home to discover there is not just ranch but so much ranch you can't even see the chicken. Kudos on consistency, at least that's something we can count on? Let me add this as well...to fight I actually drove back to exchange the wrongly made order. The clerk at the counter was apologetic and nice, I feel like it would be unfair to mention that. However, the "cook" instead of automatically remaking it looked through all the orders on the order screen. I've been to this store countless times and almost every time there has been a problem with what I've ordered. On average it takes them over 10 minutes to give your food out and an additional 10 for the ice cream to be made. Most of the time the ice cream I get is always a soup because when they finish the ice cream they don't hand it out right away. I would have given a nicer review if I hadn't almost been beaten up and then told that I was the problem by staff. When I finished my order I payed in change as I had no paper or plastic way of paying at the time, and a customer was getting frustrated with me as the service was already slow. I ordered a Rocky Road royal blizzard with no marshmallow because I simply didn't like it. And one of the staff members told me that I would get what I would get. That made me angry. I said I better get fudge instead of the mallow and the customer behind me started to get in my face saying "lets take this outside". I didn't want a conflict so I tried to wait for the staff to help defuse the situation but was let down when no one helped. After a few minutes of him confronting me, one of the managers told me to leave and sit down at one of their tables while they apologized to the one who tried to fight me. Never once have I been so angry at a single establishment before. After all this went down, I still didn't get an apology from the staff or even the right ice cream. I asked for no mallow and guess what I got. Yup! Mallow! I asked them to remake it and the staff member who made it flat out said no. read more
