This is a newer, as in remodeled, store and is still decently clean. It has a smattering booths and a soda machine tucked around the corner. While there, the employees were friendly, the place was kept clean as people left, and the food was decently put together. They didn't seem to skimp on fries either. Pretty much what you expect from a DQ. They also have a freezer case with different kinds of Dilly bars and ice cream cakes. Went for a treat and ended up with chocolate milk our clue was when they handed blizzards out the drive thru with lids on when we said we didn't need lids. They didn't get our order right so we pulled around went in and it got worse. Young lady at counter took our order back without really taking the time to listen so my order was wrong again and she had an attitude about it when I asked what blizzard she just handed me. The Blizzard maker in the back gave me a eye roll of disgust when I said that not what I ordered. When the new order was made we went to the car to find that the new ones had such soft ice cream that it looks like a milkshake a thin one at that. I understand being busy and making mistakes I dot. Understand the rudeness when I paid for something and just asked nicely if I could get the right thing! Slow down listen and dump the eye rolling attitude please I have teenagers that can do that for me at home. Fun fact: The frozen creamy deliciousness served up here (as at all Dairy Queens), is not ice cream. It is "mix." Do I know exactly how the proverbial gravy is made? No. Do I want to know? No. And also yes. But mostly no! Just pile said mix vertically into a cone and slather it with a liquid coating of chocolate flavored hydrogenated oil! Mmm MMM! I love Dairy Queen and this one is a pretty good example of its kind. It gets really busy in the summer and there is plenty of outdoor seating, so it fosters a swell community vibe. Staff are friendly if not terribly interested in their jobs. There is a certain kind of teenager that is drawn to working at Dairy Queen above all other fast-foody jobs, and they tend towards a characteristically ironical mix of earnestness, apathy, and highly diffuse enthusiasm that I have come to find endearing. Anyway. If you're not familiar with Dairy Queen and you've made it this far into the review, here is my $0.02 on the food. "Ice cream" cakes ALL. DAY. LONG. They are the best. Better than Baskin Robbins by a country mile. Creamy vanilla "mix" on top with a heavenly layer of chocolatey-crunchy-gooey goodness in the middle, and just the right amount of chocolate layer on the bottom. There are other kids if cakes I think but what you want is vanilla on top, crunchy-gooey layer, chocolate on bottom. Colorful piped whipped "cream" decorates the top with any kind of saying you can imagine in artful curling fonts applied by the steady hands of elder DQ cake-makers. Highly suitable for even the classiest celebrations. I also suggest the dip cones. Chocolate is a natural fave, but butterscotch is an occasional black horse candidate when you're in a saucy mood. Sundaes and blizzards are of course always a good choice. I'd suggest getting wild with the blizzard toppings and mixing and matching them. I believe they charge extra for this, but it's totally worth it for the transcendent experience of, say, chocolate covered cherries mixed with Heath toffee. Just saying. Avoid the pre-frozen, pre-packaged treats like Dilly Bars and Buster Bars. Unless you're feeding the soccer team and just want to get it over with, this stuff is garbage IMHO. I've never been a fan of the hot food and that opinion hasn't changed. They seem to be making a name for themselves based on large quantities of deep-fried filler at a low price point, which is fine, just not digging it myself. read more

Went through the drive thru and had to wait in front for our ice cream. Fine whatever. So after a 15 min wait we are handed our blizzards with lids on them. This is automatically a red flag for me and I open them up. SOUP! So they made my ice cream when it was ordered but had it sit on the counter until it had melted???? I would give one star, but I was so livid that I asked it to be re-made which they did. One was much better and the other was still very soft but not soup like. So at the drive-through I just asked if there was anyway to get my ice cream because they were making it right now before the food that was going to the order in front of me and they said. no so my ice cream is going to sit in side Dairy Queen until the lady in front of mines food is done and I don't find that to be acceptable I won't be back I spend $80-$100 a month here per my Truebill and that won't be happening anymore!! I paid for 3x extra topping for my Reese's PBC Blizzard but did not get it.

Went to this DQ for some dinner ordered the chicken strip basket. When we got it the fries were cold and we could tell had been sitting for awhile. I went up to the counter ask for some fresh hot fries and I really think they gave us the same fries, I would NOT recommend this Dairy Queen. Terrible customer service. Dairy Queen in Spokane is terrible, every other dairy queen I've been to is fire. They made us wait in the parking lot for 15 minutes for fresh Chicken strips and it wasn't even fresh! This venture saw the purchase of a Reese's peanut butter Blizzard, and a Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzard Still, the only drawback to this DQ, is the consistent lines. This location has always had a full parking lot, and the drive-thru lane has been known to slow/stop traffic on the nearby street. read more

Went to this Francis St DQ on a hot summer day, to ask if they made old fashioned floats. Serving lady could not have been nicer, cheerfully said Sure, made me a "diet" cola float with lotsa vanilla soft serve! Terrific. I think DQ's are indiv. franchised, and some do some things that others do not, etc. My next trip here will be for marshmallow on chocolate soft serve, a sundae! Hope they will have. Did you get what you ordered because they would always mess up me and my family ordered pretzel sticks and they gave us a receipt and there was no pretzel sticks and we also ordered a blue raspberry misty slush and on the receipt it said lemon lime misty slush, we went there twice and they messed up on our meals! This is the worst Dairy Queen EVER! I always avoid this one and drive farther out of the way to go to another location. I received a birthday email from DQ for a BOGO blizzard to use specifically at this location. Upon showing my coupon on my phone I was told they do not accept online coupons. I asked how that is possible since the coupon literally said to bring it to this location. Three employees and a manager later, no one has an answer as to why they don't accept online coupons other than "I don't know". So happy birthday to me, I couldn't even use my birthday coupon at the location it told me to use it at because the employees here are all morons. Maybe they should post a sign saying they don't accept them, or I don't know, actually accept the coupons that have your location on them. read more

Always a good place for food snacks and ice cream treats. Tonight however, ran into a ketchup issue. I got a double burger, and her a shrimp basket. She doesn't like cocktail sauce, which actually isn't a good dip for fried shrimp anyway. (It is really a non breaded type of sauce, but won't go into that right now) anyway, we got 1 (one) ketchup for the 2 of us. So I asked for 4 or 5 more, was told I could get 2 more free since we only got 1 fry.,,,, hmmmm. Anyway, I used mustard on mine (prefer ketchup though).
